I had a really disappointing experience at Courtyard Fort Lauderdale…read more First, the valet service is $30, yet the valet staff seemed completely uninterested in actually providing decent service. My car was left sitting outside in the Florida heat. If I'm paying $30 for valet parking, what exactly am I paying for? Then, when we checked in around midnight, the employee at the front desk was rude and unpleasant from the start. Later, we received a complaint from the room next door saying we were talking too loudly, even though we were speaking at a completely normal room volume. If normal conversation can easily be heard through the walls, that sounds like an insulation problem with the hotel, not something guests should be expected to compensate for by whispering in their own room. We eventually got moved to another room, but only after having to argue with the front desk employee about the situation. The entire interaction was unnecessarily difficult, and his attitude made an already frustrating experience much worse. For a Marriott property, I expected significantly better service, especially when guests are paying premium prices for things like valet parking. Thank you so much, Marriott. Your reputation precedes you. And yes, that last part is sarcasm.

This year, I decided to checkout Courtyard, since the price was reasonably cheaper. Never again! 1 star -FIRST NIGHT, I asked the receptionist for toothbrush since I misplaced mine, the receptionist sarcastically replied, "What did you do!?" While handing me a toothbrush. -The outlets in my room did not charge my electronics! -The bed is facing the window while the television is placed on a table which is placed on the side of the wall which makes it difficult to watch tv in bed. That sucked! -SECOND NIGHT, my room access card did not work... The same receptionist replied "What did you do to it!?" While waiting for her to give me an updated card, I had to use the bathroom. I went to my room, the card did not work! I was agitated at this point. I had to go back to the reception desk. She told me then assured me that someone will fix the problem. As I'm waiting the maintenance guy did NOT speak English! I asked him if the card would work for the side entrance doors, he didn't understand what I was saying, therefore he had to pull out his phone to translate what I was saying. He wanted me to input that info into his phone. Unacceptable! -THIRD NIGHT, the elevators were out of order! I had to walk up three flights of stairs to get to my room. -The access card did not work AGAIN!!! -The ice machine on my floor did not work. That meant I had to get ice from another floor. I was over it! and ready to go! A refund would have been great after staying there for 3-4days!! Not worth the money. First, and last time. I am truly disappointed. I would never refer anyone to stay there.

A special thank you to Marcia in the breakfast area. She works very hard and is always kind, warm, and welcoming. She kept everything clean and well-stocked and made our mornings enjoyable. Thank you, Marcia, for your great service! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Everyone raved about the convenience from Fort Lauderdale International Airport. They said it was a smooth ride and easy to find right off the highway. I liked that it was tucked in so that you cannot hear the cars from 75. I also like that breakfast is included and the beds are clean and comfortable. There's a nice pool and Jacuzzi and it's just steps away from Cracker Barrel. This hotel is very convenient in that there's an enterprise Rent-A-Car at the entrance to the road that leads to this Hampton Inn. If anyone needed to rent a car they could right there. There's a Publix down the street. Fresh Market is in the other direction. Pembroke Lakes Mall is only 3 miles away and Pembroke Gardens outdoor mall is only 2 miles away Every was super close and super convenient. I didn't hear not one complaint from anyone staying in the five rooms.

And pretty much same everything else, except much older and warn. The cleaning staff here is really, really, really slow. I was only here for two nights, and I had to check in late because my room was not ready. They never got to my room either day because it was at the end of the hall. I ended up getting some clean sheets and making the bed myself as well as clean towels and I left the garbage outside my door. One of the days, I left, had breakfast, did a little sight seeing and returned to the room about 3p and they still hadn't gotten to it. And the funny thing is, or should I say ironic... the day I was to checkout, they were knocking on my door early. Which made me wonder why that was not the case the first two days. Honestly, the only thing it has going for it is it is in a pretty nice area. Close to Pembroke Gardens and other nice places to visit. Also, the customer service is top notch which kind of makes up for it.

It was $15 for the breakfast buffet. -Parking was an additional $5/night. Overall I think this Hilton location needs some work. Left at 3 stars due to the price I paid.

When we returned, we really settled in and checked out the room. I wish I took a detailed picture but the first odd thing was the shower door. There was only half, with the other half completely open. We took our dog out for a walk and I found a dying baby bird on the ground in the parking lot, which I was unable to save and did not sleep well that night. I mention that because when we were leaving upon checkout, there was a different dead baby bird right outside the side door of the hotel. The air conditioning was not cold enough and it definitely felt humid at times. When we were showering, water flooded the bathroom because of the one door. Then the air conditioning unit was leaking water/ condensation really bad so we put all our used towels there to soak it up. Hubs works in HVAC so he informed the front desk when we were checking out. The breakfast was great at this location! They had so many Udi's gluten free products and they had croissants!! We only made it down to breakfast one morning unfortunately but we are considering this hotel when we visit again. The hotel was not noisy and neither was the surrounding area outside.
