Still as delicious as ever! Belweder is such a gem in Kearny. The service is so friendly and thoughtful. The prices are right, the food is delicious. I got some lunch for my family and we tried a little bit of everything really. The hits were the kielbasa, the cole slaw and the pork stew. (I believe it's the goulash) Super flavorful, cooked to order. The shop itself has a ton of Polish goodies as well. I got some seasonings and they were great for chicken marinades. This is one of those spots in town you know is good just by looking at it - nothing flashy just your typical little deli/market. What sets this place apart is the extremely nice staff and the market with all different polish goodies inside. There's plenty of freshly prepared items to choose from: potato pancakes, pierogis, kielbasa and more! I enjoyed the belweder sandwich the most, packed with fresh meat and toppings. So delicious! The pierogis were delicious as well, I chose the potato and onion ones but next time I would try cheese and bacon. The potato pancakes were okay, but I wish they came with something like sour cream or apple sauce because they were a bit plain. The prices are fair and it's usually pretty easy to find street parking within the area. Come early because they ran out of chicken cutlets and were low on potato pancakes by the time I got there (around 1p on a Wednesday) I will be back for sure! read more

You can get some traditional hot Polish foods, pierogi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa/kraut, potato pancakes, and you can get some non-traditional hot foods, Goulash, chicken cutlet...w/mashed. You can buy kielbasa and pierogis to cook yourself at a future date, and fresh sauerkraut. Lots of imported Polish goodies, and if you don't know what they are, just ask. My friend wanted peirogies for the holidays last year and I told her about this place. So we have it a shot and they hit a homerun. She's of Polish descent and she's had homemade as well as restaurant and store made. She said they were the best she ever had. The pierogi are so delicious!! I love the potato cheese, And he loves the bacon cheddar especially. They also had blueberry pierogi the last time we went, and it was good! You don't have to be Polish to enjoy the delicious homemade food at Belweder Deli. My favorite is the salad made from cucumbers and dill which I get almost every week. The beet salad, potato pancakes, and blintzes (called narishniki) are also excellent. I also enjoy the pierogis which are made in several flavors. Sometimes there are unexpected baked goods available and there are many items I have not yet tried. The owner is friendly and helpful. read more

Let me preface by saying that I am no Polish food connoisseur BUT I know what taste good and this place ROCKED. As a self proclaimed glutton, I look for any opportunity to eat. Before checking out a new place, I always do a mandatory Yelp review search and let me tell you, the other members were spot on with their review of Belweder Deli. I decided to take a field trip into Kearny after reading about Belweder and was it ever worth the trip. Upon enter the cozy little deli, I was a little surprised to see there was no steam table as I had planned on ordering some hot dishes the other members had written about. I broke out in a sweaty panic but thankfully, I spotted the "specials board". After speaking with the proprietor, I found out that some of the food is made to order, hence no steam table. Imagine that!!! As a result, the fried pork chop was melt in your mouth and "slap your mama" good as opposed to shoe leather. There were about 7 or 8 specials listed and they all sounded great. I asked the proprietor about the specials, which change frequently, and how they worked. You can make each special into a meal which includes the entrée in question and a side dish. I opted for the following: *Fried pork chop with sauerkraut and mash potato *Polish sampler special, which included a cabbage roll, 3 pierogies, 2 potato pancake and kielbasa with sauerkraut and a side of beet salad *Meat patties with potato dumplings (both were as tender as a baby's bottom) and cucumber salad All this glorious food for $23.50. NO PEOPLE, I DID NOT STUTTER!!! Not only was the food reasonable but it was comfort food at its best; simple, delicious and prepared with love... it was out of sight! The cucumber salad in the sour cream sauce almost made me cry, it was so good. The pork chop was dynamite and the polish sampler was a home run. If I had still been in the deli after sampling the food, I would have kissed the cook, it was THAT GOOD. Everything was perfectly seasoned and not at all salty, which is a plus for me. And to top it off, the proprietors were really pleasant, salt of the Earth people. Extra points for great customer service. All in all, tt was a super experience. read more

I happened upon this little deli when I read an advertisement for them in our local paper, Since I love Polish food - actually, I like almost all types of food - I thought I would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised! I tend to find something I like and stay with it, so my usual purchase is pierogi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sauerkraut and potato pancakes. All of which are beyond delicious. I've promised myself that I will begin to order other things so I can branch out and expand my food experiences. Belweder's have daily special meals of Pork Chops, Chicken dishes, Goulash, Bigos and many other items. I am sure these are just as delicious as the items I have already tried. They also serve breakfast, sandwiches, Polish baked goods, Polish meats and provisions, soups and beverages. They also do catering. As with many of the places I patronize in Kearny, Belweder's Deli is very fair with their pricing. They are open Monday to Saturday. All the cooking is done on premises. Give them a try. Found this gem on Google. I had a huge yen for Polish food. Walked in and the smell of the food instantly made my stomach growl. Mariola, the owner greeted me warmly. I placed my order which was fast and inexpensive. Some of the best kielbasa, pierogis, stuffed cabbage and potato pancakes I've ever had.
