At least, those of them from Mississippi State always said this -- perhaps because, as a major AG school, many of us take the production of good ice cream very seriously. We're not called a cow college for nothing. :) G & D's, of course, refers to George and Davis. And, indeed, they have very, very good ice cream. I tend to keep it simple with chocolate, and theirs was always stellar. They have a couple locations around town so you can pick the one most convenient to you. It's a very popular place with a loyal following of students, residents, and tourists alike, and definitely worth giving a try.

The ice cream cones either in cones or tubs. The staff are super friendly and efficient, and are currently open but with covid restrictions. Strongly recommended for a family treat.

The staff aren't the most charming or talkative, but they work hard and are constantly doing something. You can't ask for much more than that. My shake today was so-so. I think they over blended my cherry bakewell as there's usually little bits of the icing and cherry as well adage real almond flavour. I didn't get much of that. I'm sure it was a one off issue as the other 20 times I've been here, it's been great.

My husband almost always gets bakewell tart, which is at least one whole Mr Kipling bakewell tart pulverised into a milkshake. I mix it up, but the aforementioned Lucky Charms is a favourite. The downside is that it's often quite full of kids, understandably. Unfortunately they're often on their own and obviously too excited to queue, so as a grown up, the wait can be a bit long. Plus the whole process of making a milkshake isn't the fastest. It's also not the cheapest place, but they do loyalty cards, which takes a bit of the sting out of the price. Don't let its lack of originality put you off though - this does what it does exceedingly well and you won't be disappointed. It pretty much just does drinks and although there are a few seats and lots of standing room, it's designed mainly as a takeaway shop. The drinks come in 2 main varieties: super sweet and sickly treats and super fruity health boosts. The milkshakes can involve any manner of gooey delights - you pick what you want from a huge list on a board on the wall, then watch as the staff chuck everything into a blender to create heaven in a cup.
