I get some weird looks when I order in here. Mostly from my wife who tells me that I order the…read morewrong things and that her milkshake choices are better. I can't say that isn't true the majority of the time! I like Shaketastic. Of all the candy bar milkshake chains, they're my favourite. The staff aren't the most charming or talkative, but they work hard and are constantly doing something. You can't ask for much more than that. My shake today was so-so. I think they over blended my cherry bakewell as there's usually little bits of the icing and cherry as well adage real almond flavour. I didn't get much of that. I'm sure it was a one off issue as the other 20 times I've been here, it's been great.

What's not to like about candy in a milkshake? It's a bit of a no-brainer, really…read more They have some tasty American things (Lucky Charms! Fluff!) that are really nice. My husband almost always gets bakewell tart, which is at least one whole Mr Kipling bakewell tart pulverised into a milkshake. I mix it up, but the aforementioned Lucky Charms is a favourite. The downside is that it's often quite full of kids, understandably. Unfortunately they're often on their own and obviously too excited to queue, so as a grown up, the wait can be a bit long. Plus the whole process of making a milkshake isn't the fastest. It's also not the cheapest place, but they do loyalty cards, which takes a bit of the sting out of the price. Definitely a great treat on a warm day! Or a cold day. Basically on all the days.

Ice cream that your taste buds will thank you for!…read more Newly opened, 6 Ice Cream is the latest and most delectable addition to the Bene't St parade of food and drink. The ice cream is made daily in the counter-top machines, served with cakes and biscuits also made there: flavours change based on the produce available at Cambridge Market in the morning, so you'll always be offered something new and delicious. So ice cream is obviously for summer? You couldn't be more wrong! The autumn flavours coming up - roast apricots, spices and potential savoury specials - will bring you in when the days are short and the sun just a wistful memory... A beautifully appointed space with a bijou number of seats, 6 Ice Cream is a perfect addition to food obsessed Cambridge - pop in when it's sunny, satisfy a craving when the weather's miserable, and take home a six pack with all the toppings for a perfect dessert - only leave some for me!

The answer would be: it is so delicious and fresh that you do not have the time to take a picture before you eat all of it. I had Blood Orange Sorbet, which got the perfect balance between zesty and sweet and Lemon Yogurt, which was very creamy but still got the healthy feeling of a yogurt. Also, they have a lovely selection of toppings. Nicely presented, all looked very tasty. And, I saw they serve Monmouth coffee. I did not order one, but I know it would be great just by seeing the Monmouth name. Definitely will come back no matter how long the queue would be!!!

Don't let its lack of originality put you off though - this does what it does exceedingly well and you won't be disappointed. It pretty much just does drinks and although there are a few seats and lots of standing room, it's designed mainly as a takeaway shop. The drinks come in 2 main varieties: super sweet and sickly treats and super fruity health boosts. The milkshakes can involve any manner of gooey delights - you pick what you want from a huge list on a board on the wall, then watch as the staff chuck everything into a blender to create heaven in a cup. And I mean anything: whatever the chocolate bar, you name it. Then add in some ice cream, sauces, sweets, toppings, pretty much anything you can think of. I had marshmallow, Dream bar and ice cream. It was good. No, I couldn't finish it. If you're feeling a bit healthier, there are all manner of fruit smoothies and juices, which are all freshly made on the spot. There are suggested combinations with explanations of what they do for you (Eg: help you get over a cold/give you an energy burst/make you feel lustful) and you can get additional healthy shots of things that are good for you. But I challenge you to go in just for a smoothie - the milkshakes are definitely where it's at...
