I believe the team is very competent in their legal work, and I'm grateful for the outcome--my husband's case could have turned out much worse. That said, communication was a consistent challenge throughout the process. I often had to check the clerk of court records myself for updates on motions, hearings, and trial dates instead of receiving them directly from Shepard Law. Additionally, I wish there had been clearer communication about when their representation ended. Toward the conclusion of my husband's case, there were a number of "we will" statements made (such as assisting with a facility transfer or probation out of state), which gave me the impression they would continue helping beyond conviction. After two months of unanswered emails, I finally called and was told their services concluded at conviction. While I understand that, it would have been helpful if expectations had been set earlier or if someone had simply reached out to clarify. Overall, I appreciate Shepard Law's work on my husband's case, but I hope they take this feedback into consideration and strengthen their communication with clients moving forward.

I went and immediately got a new lawyer and we will get better results. Al is not a fighter he doesn't really care. This is not the attitude your lawyer should have. You should not have to just settle on the first deal, especially when the state has no chance at proving the case. He was not willing to review the case at all with me. No discussion of the evidence, nothing at all. I have never come across a lawyer not willing to discuss the evidence with his client. Al doesn't want to file motions or negotiate with the DA.
