I told them what was happening and within a matter of minutes I was taken back, had imaging done and had the tooth extracted. He suffered through - it was rough. His second surgery, they provided pain meds and steroids to help with swelling - which went very well and healed quickly. Fast forward to my daughter with all 4 wisdom teeth impacted and in pain. Consult and surgery date set without an issue - until roughly a week before surgery - oh "we no longer participate with your insurance" - so now we are back to square one with trying to find a surgeon to help her and guess what - NO ONE TAKES NEW PATIENTS! not impressed... if they were going to discontinue her insurance why not be forthcoming?

But I checked with the insurance on what kind of…read morecoverage I would have for a comprehensive evaluation and if they used code D9310 for billing my insurance would cover 80% of the $250 charge. I called 2 times and informed billing about the code and when I went to my appointment I made it clear I didn't want to have the evaluation if they used another code. I was told on the phone and at the appointment they would use that specific code. When I want to pay the bill at checkout they told me total bill is $445. I had to pay out of pocket and they would send to my insurance company. The other charge was for Radiographic imaging. I thought everything was part of the evaluation but I paid it thinking the insurance company would pay 80%. They did not use the code number I gave them for billing and out of $445 charge the insurance company only paid $66. When I called billing about this matter they said they don't use that billing code I questioned why 3 times they told me they do and gave them the code each time. This was a problem for me due to being out of work from surgery and didn't have a lot of money to spend for a consultation. I feel I was lied to and not properly informed about the additional charges for the Radiographic. Needless to say I will not go back for the second consultation to discuss what dental procedures they recommend.

Unfortunately this has led to the loss of several teeth. On my most recent cleaning the hygenist noticed a slight crack in one tooth. It's imperative that any areas for potential cavities be addressed immediately so I don't lose any more teeth. Since the area was identified early the crack could be filled and "built up". Now the tooth has been saved without the need for a crown, which would not even be an option due to the gum recession. The procedure was completely painless and took about 50 minutes. Everyone is helpful and friendly. I'm grateful.
