Dentist 10/10 Front desk 10/10 Staff 10/10 I came in from the emergency dentist over in York and just walked right in because I couldn't bare the pain anymore of the tooth that was affecting me. I told them what was happening and within a matter of minutes I was taken back, had imaging done and had the tooth extracted. After they helped me schedule and referred me to another oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth that require sedation. I know the reviews to this dentistry are a little off putting but they're from years ago. I can say I'm so happily taken care of. So glad I came in because I couldn't bare another day. read more

So my son had his oral surgery and needed to have it in two appointments due to potential setbacks. During the first surgery, he was sent home without pain meds, we called after the second day as he had substantial swelling and pain - I could not reach anyone. He suffered through - it was rough. His second surgery, they provided pain meds and steroids to help with swelling - which went very well and healed quickly. Fast forward to my daughter with all 4 wisdom teeth impacted and in pain. Consult and surgery date set without an issue - until roughly a week before surgery - oh "we no longer participate with your insurance" - so now we are back to square one with trying to find a surgeon to help her and guess what - NO ONE TAKES NEW PATIENTS! not impressed... if they were going to discontinue her insurance why not be forthcoming? read more

Run the opposite direction. The dentist is extremely nice and very professional. The worse call center EVER management and front desk are very rude and unprofessional. I have been trying to get a refund for overpayment since January 2023 and can not even get a return call. read more

My daughter and I had a very unpleasant experience here. She saw the oral surgeon for her consult, we went back the day of surgery and he refused to see her, and refused to have a staff member pick up the phone and make a simple call to her insurance company. After we drove 2 hours to get to the appointment and I took a day off from work. Very unprofessional and disorganized. I would not recommend this office to anyone. read more

Do not go here - repeat DO NOT go here. The supposed "new management" has turned things for the worst, at least at the Lancaster office. Lost appointments, no coordination between dental and ortho, inability to even confirm appointments when you call their schedulers back. They even claimed their current year schedules got erased but to trust them that 2016 is right. I feel like I'm hand holding a child just to do business with them. The ortho department even scheduled my son to return on Veteran's Day to pick up some orthodontia. They confirm the appointment the day before and we show up to a closed ortho department and helpless staff to assist. They eventually found his orthodontia but could t give it to me because there was no orthodontist available, I asked to have me take it to Lititz location and they said they let the last orthodontist go home while they were looking for my kid's mouthpiece. They sent requests to the "Regional Manager" whom I believe to be Christina (?? The office staff doesn't even know their own regional manager's last name). The office staff claims she ignores the staffs requests for communication, doesn't even give them a phone number (only email) and I personally asked to speak with her several times... She never reached out, not even once to try and make the situation right in the 5 weeks it took to get back into the overly crowded office to try and get my child's orthodontia. They were supposed to email me expected costs for this but in almost three months I have yet to get a single quote, or proper expectation of service and costs. I live an hour away from this place and have gone here with my family of 6 people for about three years. I'm considering billing them my high hourly bill rate for the lost time as a "missed appointment fee" for their total ineptitude in scheduling and inconvenience. If it weren't for insurance recommending me to go here I would go somewhere else, I likely will still find another place if these guys continue to find ways to mess up our appointments and demonstrate a complete lack of professionalism in correcting the issue. ***update - After speaking with corporate HR director and getting a call from Christina they did financially try to make this problem right and apologized for the staff issues. This office is working out the kinks -- AND THERE ARE A FEW -- but Dr. Shah is great and really has a nice chair-side manner. The office support staff seems rather inexperienced, but friendly, and well-meaning. The insurance matters were handled effectively by the staff, despite trouble from my insurance group sending the incorrect documents. That said, a bit more professionalism can go a long way. All said, they were able to perform a procedure on my son that I didn't think he would sit through. They even found his favorite show and put it on the TV so he would feel relaxed. We're going to continue using this practice and see what the future holds. The office decor is adorable and VERY kid-friendly, with a giant fish tank and a chalkboard wall. read more

Time management is horrible in oral surgeon side. Showed up an hour earlier (2pm) for my 3pm CONSULTATION appointment to get all paperwork signed and make sure referrals were faxed. I did have an appointment afterwards I needed to get to by 5pm that wasn't far away. At 3pm I asked for an estimated wait time, they said they couldn't say. At 3: 20 pm, when I walked up to reschedule, that's when they tell me I was going to be called next and needed X-rays done because your dentist didn't send them over with referral. Why wouldn't you tell me that to begin with?! Now I know for sure I won't make it to next appointment. Definitely annoying how they play with your time, but if you do it, they want to charge you for it! However, ladies in front were nice, but clueless. Will change review after next visits experience. read more

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST .I would give it a zero if I could. I had a very nice dentist at first and I did have several bad teeth. I got root canals and crowns and my teeth were ok for about 2 years and then I started having problems again. This dentist acted like she didn't know what she was doing. She did several root canals and crowns and in less than a year all the crowns, that both dentist did, kept coming off but the strange thing was the horrible pain I had in ALL the teeth that had root canals. I'm no professional but how did ALL the teeth with the root canals and crowns become rotten and had to be removed. Now I'm really mad because I've put thousands of dollars, out of my pocket, to end up having to have ALL my teeth removed. By this time I had seen at least 4 dentist all of who were incompetent. I know I put good reviews but the last time I went I had yet a different dentist who didn't seem like he knew his a-- from a hole in the ground. I was only 53 and no teeth because of them. I should of legally pursued it but I didn't. I never once could eat with these crappy dentures and my gums are constantly sore from eating with no teeth. People don't understand that 53 is young to not have teeth. I couldn't go to my daughter's wedding because of being embarrassed because of the way my mouth looks. My depression is unreal, I can't speak right and I look like shit. The pandemic was a blessing for me because everyone was wearing masks. After 6 years I went to a new place and they couldn't believe my mouth. I have severe bone loss and probably can't do the implants that your dentures snap on. I would have to get bone grafting done and that might not even work plus the cost is very expensive. Not one of the dentist told me about the bone loss. They ruined my life. It might sound ridiculous but it's true and I don't have the 10 to 20 thousand dollars to pay for it. I have been looking for a place to help me pro bono or not charge much. Please DON'T GO THERE. I GET EITHER REALLY MAD OR UPSET TO THE POINT OF CRYING. I would never harm myself because of my family but when I look in the mirror I hate the way I look and feel. read more

Had an appointment for oral surgeon consultation at 2:30 got there and another person also had a 2:30 and then they took another person that was for 3:00. I had my daughter drive me 21 miles and when I questioned the girls that took patients back, they got smart with me, basically made ass out of me and I heard them laughing. After 3:45 I rescheduled but will cancel. WORST place ever. Maybe because I am "white" and everybody else was other races. So yes, whites get discriminated too. read more

Showed up for appointment as a new patient and told by staff that time slot had been "triple booked" and preference had been given to an existing patient. The office staff is completely unorganized and rude. I was hung up on twice. The doc says its medically necessary for my son to have a treatment but then they say they do not have a contract with the insurance company for that treatment, so although it is medically necessary for your son to have this, you will have to pay out of pocket...how convenient??? I called the insurance company who told me the office needs to submit a specific form, but when I told the office this, they told me that they were not going to submit the form because then I would receive the services for free! I will be contacting the better business bureau in addition to taking my business elsewhere. read more

I saw what has already been written and wanted to provide a different perspective. My wife and I are new clients. So far, I've had x-rays, two new crowns and a cleaning. My wife has had a cleaning, X-rays, plus a filling. I believe we've received the normal gambit of services from Lancaster Dental Arts in Lititz. Our experiences in making appointments and setting ourselves up as new clients has been exactly as we would expect from a professional office as this one certainly is. I know others on this review page have had challenges, but perhaps thing HAVE actually improved as they promised. My wife and I have Dental insurance and claims have been processed quickly. I am not a fan of providing so much personal info over the phone to anyone, so I was glad to be able to complete the rest in person. There was no issue with doing this in the first visit in the office. When my wife came in for her first appointment, she gave the remainder of her info. I am a big fan of this office now. The personnel are professional and caring. The Dr. is a talented dentist and gave me all the necessary time needed to accomplish the work and for any "customizing" that I needed for each new crown. The equipment in the office is new and advanced. I would recommend this office and doctor to anyone. We will continue with this practice until we are old and grey (or until our insurance company changes everything on us). Don't be completely swayed by any of our reviews, please take the time and stop in to see the office and make your own judgment. read more

Screened me for crown. Told me to get root canal I did and was back to see them with in a week. They then charged me for a 2nd visit and did nothing but take more x-rays and tell me I would need 3 more dental visits but they could do nothing further till insurance approval. I asked for filling then but they said they would not (I needed filling within 4 weeks of root canal). I even offered to pay for it and they refused. They then delayed 10 days in sending electronic request to insurance. Insurance then took another 22 days and asked a question. needless to say it is now 2 months later and my root canal fillings have seeped out and I am at risk of loosing tooth. I went to another dentist and they immediately provided me care needed. Funny how that works when you deal with a caring dentist. Do yourself a favor and find another dentist. FYI They also fouled a filling on my husband and he had to have it redone in less then a year and get this they made him pay for the visit and he needs to wait for refund from there corporate office. read more

Get a second opinion. I had been going to Lancaster Dental Arts every 6 months for cleanings for about 1.5 years. Last time I went they told me I had early signs of gingivitis. I brush my teeth twice per day and I have no bleeding or inflamed gums. They wanted to check my insurance and see if I could come in every 3 months instead of 6. This seemed a little shady to me especially because they never said anything about my gums being unhealthy in my last 6 month check up. It gets worse....During that same visit the dentist came in, looked in my month and told me I had 5 cavities. He did not touch my teeth, he hardly even examed them. The hygienist seemed as surprised as me with his diagnosis. She had just cleaned and fully examined my teeth and she did not mention to the dentist any issues. I asked him how I could have developed 5 cavities in the last 6 months.He gave me some answer about being wanting to be proactive and that the other dentist might not have felt it was necessary. He had me go out to the lobby and the receptionist put me on a payment plan. I would have had to pay $500 after insurance coverage to have all of them filled. My gut was telling me something wasn't right about his diagnosis so I got a second opinion. I went to a different dentist office, got a full exam and they told me that I have NO cavities! When I told them what Lancaster Dental Arts had said they were speechless. They said that my teeth look great and I do not have any signs of gingivitis or tooth decay. read more

I highly recommend NOT going to Lancaster Dental Arts. Or get a second opinion before having any dental work done. To begin, the office staff are unprofessional and lack proper knowledge of insurance policies and basic math... To include the dental assistants who argue amongst themselves and with the dentist. The dentist caused permanent damage to my gums before applying a bridge which I paid for out of pocket. Upon my last visit (the bridge installation) the dentist said, "I apologize for the mistakes I made, don't hate the dentist." Let his words be your determining factor. read more

They did an ortho exam to my daughter in November 14, by February 2 they had not filed the insurance claim for authorization to start treatment, I was so fed up, I told them I was going to a different provider, the very next day they filed the claim just to cover the exam expenses. read more

Dentist was great during my daughters consult, but office management needs to work on staff and insurance issues prior to appointments not the day of the procedure. Not only did I speak to someone twice both days prior to my daughters appointment and everything insurance wise was confirmed, but someone from the office called the day before to confirm as well. I received a phone call while on my way to the appointment I had to wait 2 months for and I was told there were still insurance issues that needed to be resolved. I had to miss a day of work, my daughter had to miss a day of school, she couldn't eat since the night before, we sat in over an hour of traffic and I had to pay a babysitter to take my other children to school all for nothing. Worst experience with a dentist office I have ever had. I had to wait 1 hour for them to see me and then once I got back to the chair I waited a very long time to be seen. Today I got in 15 minutes late and they cancelled my appointment. I also felt they encouraged me to get unnecessary work done on my teeth and when I got a cavity refilled it was painful and uncomfortable for many days. First impression not good, staff is very unwelcoming and you can never get ahold of the office when calling. My child had an appointment for dental work and was gagging while work was being done. I thought out loud and all I said was "Wow, he has a bad gag reflex" the dentist (who was female and wasn't the doctor that my child's appointment was even with) looks at me and very unprofessionally said to me that if I say another comment she would have me removed from the room. My child was already under anesthesia and I was shocked that she spoke to me so rudely. By far the worse feeling to be treated that way. We wont be back. read more

Horrible. Definitely do not know how these people are in business. To let everyone know if you are trying to get braces do not go here. They are only in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays if they feel like showing up. I left over 6 messages to the staff and them to the office manager. I never received one call. They are very unprofessional and If your going to spend 3500 or more on braces I would stay clear away from this company. There are cheaper and more professional orthodontist that are open 5 days a week. Having moved a lot and having changed dentists multiple times over 60 years, Lancaster Dental Arts, Lititz is THE worst dental practice. Go anywhere else but here. When I went, I first waited a1/2 hour before every x ray possible was taken. All my records they had, with recent full mouth ex-rays they never looked at. When I asked why not, I was told that the insurance allows them to take full ex-rays because I was a new patient. Then I waited over an hour for the cleaning. My teeth were "cleaned" in less than 10 minutes having done little to nothing. I asked the hygienist how could she be done. She told me they only have 15 minutes per patient. Every practice I have ever attended schedules at least 45 minutes. It is impossible to do a thorough cleaning and polishing in 15 minutes. Then I waited in the chair for over 30 minutes for the doctor to do the exam. When I asked where was he and what was taking so long, they told me there was no time for a check-up. My husband went a month later. X-rays right away. Then he was told there was not time for a cleaning. They got in the big money maker of x-rays though. When I called to discuss the frustration with these 2 appointments, I was told by the office manager that it is because of the patients. If they are late, it pushes back their schedules and doesn't leave time for others. Really? So either you don't know how to book appointments or you could care less having made the money on the x-rays. If they are running late, too bad, they need to stay late. All the reviews are the same. The insurance company needs to check this practice out. In my book, they are running a big scam. I'd rate this 0 stars, but the review made me enter at least 1. read more

From the beginning the pain continued, I went back for recheck and was given an incorrect diagnosis. After continuous pain & unreturned phone calls I went to another dental office that showed me some concern & skill. Turns out I needed complete retreatment after Lancaster dental arts advised the only resolution would be extraction. It's sad that people in the medical field can be so incompetent. Trying to contact ANYONE at that dental office is a nightmare. I've met the staff and had appointments fulfilled. While the staff might be skilled and professional, it is RIDICULOUS that you can't just CALL a specific branch of the dental office. I needed to call the oral surgeon but you can't. You have to some number that goes to a single receptionist, and if they are on the line, you have wait wait wait wait wait, and then get a message that you have to leave a message with a call back. That does NOT work for those of us trying to make an appointment on a break at work, and cannot answer a cell phone during working hours. If it wasn't that they accept Medicaid, and are the only provider in Lancaster that I believe DOES accept it, I would go elsewhere. Regardless of how professional or knowledgeable the staff is, the first impression people get is when trying to make an initial contact. Epic fail. Luckily I'm getting dental insurance now that I'm back to work, and I will find another provider. read more
