Shannon is without a doubt one of the MOST motivating and inspiring people I have met in my ENTIRE LIFE. I am a grown adult now and have been doing yoga since I was a young child and it was always a constant in my life, however, several years back I was diagnosed with a progressive neuromuscular disease and as my body has gotten weaker and weaker, the more yoga just was made to seem like an impossibility for me. I physically COULDN'T do it and I have NEVER felt comfortable doing yoga in the years since. After my Husband's job was relocated and I knew absolutely no one, one day I saw a mention of her studio. I figured I'd just try it out, not thinking anything of it, and knew I'd probably fail like all the rest of the times. When the class was over, I just put my head in my hands and cried for I don't even know how long. The way Shannon leads the class, the countless number of variations she gives for literally EVERY LEVEL OF STUDENT (and I mean every level!), the inspirational human being she is. I have never had someone make me feel so OKAY JUST TO BE ME. It's AMAZING! For the first time in years, I feel like I can belong in a yoga class again despite being a less abled person. Over a year ago I began to attend Bending Light Yoga, at Vero Beach, Florida. I was unaware that a first-time experience helps with my balance in many shapes and forms. I felt so relaxed and at peace after her session ... anyone can do this ... you hold the pose and breath into your body and your mind for complete restoration... I have been practicing various forms of yoga for many years and have always been interested in aerial yoga. When Shannon told me she was going to be doing classes I was over the moon. After practicing vinyasa and hot yoga with her I knew if anyone could take my practice to the next level it was her! The classes and Shannon as instructor are nothing short of amazing! Shannon is an excellent teacher who not only teaches but practices with you through the entire class! If you are a visual learner like me, then this helps so much. I have taken every class she has offered so far and they are all great. Her beach yoga in the mornings are a great way to start your day, and Monday night hot yoga is a good way to detox your body (this class is quite popular so be sure to get there a bit early). Aerial yoga is by far one of the most fun workouts she offers, where you can "fly" with the colorful silks while also building body strength. If you are new to aerial yoga, I recommend taking her "essential" class first. Saturday morning deep stretch class is also a fantastic way to relax and detox your body in a calm & quiet room. Bending Light is my new go to place. I am so thankful for Shannon, she is very inspiring. Before and after every yoga class she gives us positive thoughts for the day. I attend Shannon's yin yoga, yoga, barre classes and aerial yoga. I have been doing yoga for probably the last 15 years and being too aggressive and over stretching. Shannon has taught me to be kind to myself and always offers alternatives to every pose. Before hooking up with Shannon during the COVID I had severe lower back issues and I was even receiving steroid injections. I could barely walk. Shannon Rocks! I've been taking a smorgasbord of fitness classes for over 25 years and by far Shannon is the BEST fitness instructor I've ever had. Not only is she the epitome of health and strength, she communicates each move with preciseness - explaining which muscles we are using and how to perform each exercise correctly. The Barre workouts are phenomenal and fun!! Low impact, but intense!! Every workout is different and you see results!! Best of all her classes are reasonably priced!! Cannot say enough wonderful things about Shannon and the classes she teaches. Shannon is a very patient and caring teacher. She pays attention to everybody in the room, giving adjustments as she sees her students need, individually. She is not there to gain or advance her practice, she is genuinely interested in her students mental & physical health. Shannon's practice is just amazing. I call her my sunshine . She brings such light and love into her practice of aerial yoga and on the beach sunrise yoga!!!
