Rude staff. They speak poorly of people behind their back. Ridiculous policies that strip your ability to make decisions for your child.

She followed the proper steps, saw a doctor, and was cleared to return. After that, I was informed about outstanding fees, which I was prepared to handle. What concerns me most is not the fees, but the professionalism and treatment of the athletes. It is inappropriate for a coach to speak negatively about children in front of other athletes. No child should feel singled out or uncomfortable in what is supposed to be a supportive team environment. There also appears to be tension toward athletes associated with another coach's squad, which creates an unnecessary divide among the girls. As paying customers, parents expect fairness, respect, and positive leadership for our children. I hope the organization takes steps to improve communication and ensure all athletes are treated equally and professionally.

I'm writing this review as a long-time New Wave Gymnastics parent, and I want to be very clear: our…read moreexperience with Coach Jasmine has been extremely unprofessional, and the situation escalated to her threatening to call the police over a simple parent conversation. My daughter has attended New Wave since 2nd grade, joined the team in 4th grade, and is now in 7th grade, so we are not new customers and we have supported this gym for years. Over the past several months, we've dealt with repeated issues involving communication, payment concerns, and the way our child has been treated compared to other athletes. One major issue involved injury clearance. After conditioning, my daughter was extremely sore and her mother emailed the gym explaining she could not practice that day. Coach Jasmine insisted she could not return until she was cleared by a doctor -- for the second time. Our daughter was cleared twice, by two different doctors, with no limitations. She also completed her required middle school sports physical to run track and was cleared for that as well. Despite this, she continued to be treated as if she was not cleared. Another major concern is that our daughter has repeatedly been made to sit outside the training area while the rest of the athletes practiced. I spoke directly to the owner about this and explained I have never seen another athlete treated that way. His response was, "it depends on who I talk to." That response alone should concern any parent -- rules should be consistent for everyone. When we tried to calmly address these concerns, Coach Jasmine refused to speak in person and immediately escalated the situation. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, she threatened to call the police simply because we were asking questions as paying parents about our child's treatment. No parent should ever have to deal with police threats over a simple conversation regarding their child. This is a youth sports facility, and professionalism should be the standard. I truly hope New Wave improves how management handles communication and parent concerns moving forward.
