Last weekend was my first brow appointment with Flor and it was such an amazing experience! I was so intimidated by the idea of going to someone who specializes in waxing since I have spent so many years going to nail salons for the service since it's cheap and something easy you can walk-in and do. I was worried that whoever I went to next would judge me (and my brows), but that was not that case at all! When I arrived to the Benefit section of Macy's I was greeted by the sweetest sales person at the counter who let me know Flor would be right back. (I was a few minutes early because I was nervous!) Flor arrived within seconds and was so kind and welcoming. I knew right away that I made the right decision to book an appointment with her! She introduced herself and asked me a little bit about my previous experience with Benefit, previous experience with waxing/threading, and then asked about my skin. I think it's incredibly thorough of her to start an appointment with an understanding of her client's skin. That's something that I had never experience before! Then, Flor started mapping out where the start, end, and peak of the brow should be based on my face structure and nose. This part was so much fun for me because it was a learning experience for me as well as a way for her to let me know what my brows can look like if I continue visiting Benefit's Brow Bar. We discussed the goals I have for my brows (symmetry, symmetry, symmetry!!) and she let me know her exact plan of action before even mixing the wax. 5 STARS RIGHT HERE ALONE! Flor proceeded to start the waxing process and it went over very well. She managed to do the waxing, AND walk me through any changes in posture or head movement to help get the right angles, AND ALSO ask me questions about who I am and what I do. It was incredible! It made me feel welcomed in the space, made me feel confident about what my brows would look like, and helped build that sense of community that is often lacking at other brow establishments. I am incredibly happy with how my brows came out. We have a plan on how to get them where I want them to be over time, but I understand that it's a process since I am hoping to get a bit of hair growth back. And we were able to get my next appointment on the books at a time that works for me. Overall, an incredible experience! I recommended Flor and the Benefit Brow Bar at Macy's for anyone looking to FIX THEIR BROW GAME! I'm so excited to see her next month! read more

I am a control freak when it comes to my brows and never went a day without cleaning them up since I found my parent's tweezers in middle school. From the pencil thin look then to the fuller look now, I always did my best but it was never perfect. Until I met Alex; the first person other than myself who ever touched my brows. She has been very patient and thorough with me. She made sure she knew all the face products I was using and followed up on each appointment. This is very important! Initially I was using a cream that made my skin too sensitive for waxing so she would tweeze my brows. I have since then switched face creams and she waited a good amount of time before she attempted to wax my brows. And I mentioned per patience with me because I really fought letting my brows go for four weeks so she could see how my brows really look. But I finally gave in and trusting her really pays off. The brow bar also carries a range of make up that really make your brows go the extra mile. She showed me several products and showed demonstrated to use them. It's been a few months and I still have plenty before I run out. Not only is Alex very good with brows, she's very sweet and easy to talk to. The reason for four stars is no reflection on Alex. I'm a little irked that they recently changed their schedules around for no apparent reason. I have always visited her on Fridays because that's the day I have "available." I don't have a lot of available time. I'm a full time nursing student, I work part time, and when I do have available time it's used for studying or paperwork. I make time for the drive to get my brows done here. Thankfully I work somewhere very flexible because now I have to move my work schedule around just so I can keep visiting Alex once a month. I wish whoever is in charge of the scheduling would have taken a little more time to consider the customers before making this change. read more

I have been going to the benefit brown bar for about a year now. Brow and lip service is only $23 dollars, which I think is a steal. Brenda is amazing. Friendly, informative, and always does a phenomenal job. She will always map your brows to their appropriate length and show you, which is great if you're hesitant to get them waxed because you're afraid of them messing up. She will show you the end product as well, and you can let her know if you'd like anymore done. She even fills them in to your preference and conceals any redness so you can go about your day after. Well it seems like a good idea to come to this location, don't. Go to Ulta. Brenda was very nice, but commented on me "needing" a lip wax. I told her I normally don't do my lip, but since she pointed it out may as well. I call this technique customer shaming. I'm more of a fan of the type that points out nice things and offers a way of making your already great features even better. The result was I not good either. As I walked away I felt like my lip was on fire. I looked in the mirror and saw a blister forming. Horrified I walked back and asked her to offer me some assistance. She only tied to put more of the chemical stuff the use to "sooth" your burning flesh. Then, I hustle to the bathroom. I figure I need to wash my hands and face asap. The janitor is cleaning and despite my begging to use the sink, he refuses. I'm pretty much want to cry. What is wrong with this store? So I left and went into the mall in tears trying to find a bathroom. I'll never go back. Sorry Brenda, but when you blister someone's face you should probably try to make it better somehow rather than move on to the next client. I was walking through Macy's on my way to the brow threading place when a nice woman named Monica asked me if I wanted to get my brows done because they were doing a brow art thing at Benefit. I asked if someone was on hand to actually shape/wax my brows and she said yes. I sat down in Patty's chair and the first thing she said about my overgrown caterpillar eyebrows was, "Oh my god! You have great eyebrows! I'm so excited to work on them!" I had never heard that in my life and so right away I was stoked to see what she had in store for me. Long story short (bc honestly I could go on and on about how nice and great she was) my eyebrows have never looked so great!! They're still full and they're beautifully shaped! I'm fairly new to knowing how to properly do my eyebrows and all the different products Benefit has to offer. I had gone to Ulta on two separate occasions looking for some help and the girl at the palm desert location was so unprofessional and not helpful in the slightest. I had such a frustrating experience there (and will no longer be going back) which led me to the Benefit counter at Macys. I met with Flor and she was AMAZING. So nice, so patient and really knowledgeable about what would work best for me. I'm so thankful she took the time to listen to me and guide me through the process and now my brows look so much better. I will 100% be returning to this location. I've been going to Brenda steadily for a few months now and have seen a drastic improvement in my eyebrow hair growth! Which is amazing! Hair is reappearing where I thought it would never. I'm not sure if it's the wax or the technique but my eyebrows do look amazing and full! I came here because the person that normally does my brows wasn't available and I don't trust people with my brows. I came here because of the reviews and luckily I got Brenda. It was an awesome experience. They map your brow shape and show you before waxing. They do a little brow massage which felt really good, and then afterwards they shape and fill in the rest. My eyebrows look so good! Better than my normal brow waxing lady, I hate to admit. It was a little more than I normally spend for a brow wax but honestly I think for the service, it was worth it.
