I had been to several salons before meeting with Pam, and as soon as I stepped into the salon with my mom, sister-in-law and two nieces, I was immediately impressed. It was still brand new and in the process of getting all the new business kinks worked out, but I absolutely LOVED the setup and the one-on-one attention I received. Pam was incredible at listening to all of the details about my wedding and my vision and pulled some wonderful dresses. There were several that fit the vision, but I still had other appointments to attend and wasn't ready to commit. What I loved most about her was that there was no pressure to commit and I was able to take time and think about everything. The best part was that just as we were getting ready to leave a FedEx delivery arrived and there was a brand new dress in the box that fit the style I was looking for and she let me try it on. It was magical. It was definitely a dream gown. Unfortunately, it was out of my budget range. But she worked with me and set up a time when I could come back during a trunk show to get more of a discount and still use the coupon I won so I could get the most bang for the buck. Now that is what I call dedication to clientele and customer service!! Unfortunately, between the time I tried on the dress and the trunk show, my budget changed drastically as I had a change in venue and had to give up some of the money that would have gone toward my dress. I ended up having to purchase my dress from another salon, but Pam was so understanding and gracious and was just so happy for me that I was able to find something I loved, even if it wasn't with her. I loved my experience so much, I referred my best friend to the salon when she got engaged. She lives in Minnesota but is from SLC originally and will be getting married here, so she flew in for her appointments this past April. Once again, the experience with the bridal consultant (and trainee) were above par (Pam was not in town for this visit). They explained details, took time pulling dresses to fit the bride's needs, and even offered suggestions to make custom orders to build a dress made of favorite pieces of dresses. The consultants were amazing, friendly, helpful, and knew the business. They even offered me tips on preserving my dress and getting it pressed and steamed beforehand. Just the best customer service I received hands-down, and I went to probably 10 shops total looking for my gown. While I was at Bitsy Bridal with my girlfriend, I found a hair comb to purchase for my wedding day. I may not have been able to buy my gown from them, but I wanted to be able to support Pam and her business in some way and the staff was very helpful with placing my order and having it arrive in time way before the wedding. I HIGHLY recommend you check out this salon. The quality attention to detail and customer service and the fact they are open on Sundays just puts them top of my list.

The added fabric wasn't even the same color white and was super obvious in pictures and needed to be heavily edited. I paid for express shipping from the designer that was not delivered on the timeline they provided, nor was I updated about it being late, which put unnecessary stress on the wedding vendors I had hired. On top of everything, The attendant also made comments to me in the dressing room about my body that me feel really self conscious. I have several friends who bought from here as well and had similarly bad experiences. I've never actually heard of anyone having a positive experience here.

She asked to see my dress inspo, so when I showed her the dress I wanted, she laughed and told me that the store had "invented" that dress, but had to make changes to it. In my mind, you don't have to make changes to a dress you invented - you have to make changes to a dress that you copycat so you don't get in trouble from the original designer. After all of this, she told us we would still have to pay a $50 fee even though we showed up an hour early, and weren't interested in anything. Mind you, there was no one in the store other than us. I have never written a yelp review before, but this interaction put a bad taste in my mouth & tainted what was supposed to be a good experience. I would recommend going somewhere else if you are wanting a better selection and service.

First of all, I called at maybe 3:30 on a Saturday to see if I could just come in and look around. They told me they had availability at 4pm. They closed at 5pm, but I had no idea until it was well past 5 and I asked them what time they closed. They did not rush me at all! I was a little back and forth on my top dress. Plus my mom wasn't there, and she wouldn't let me commit to it without her there. They were totally understanding and let me schedule another tentative appointment that next Monday. (They even let me FaceTime my mom and take pics of the dresses I had on). When Monday morning hit, my mom wanted me to try on some other options, so we hit another shop before going back to The Bride's Shop. I found a dress I absolutely fell in love with, but wanted to try on that first dress again just to be sure I could commit. Before we could even head back to the Bride's Shop, they called me and asked if I wanted to come back in, and had the dress ready to go when I got there! My mom, however, spotted the same dress I fell in love with at the first store, and they let me hop from one dress to the other as many times as I wanted in order to decide. The dresses at Boda are absolutely beautiful and I was able to find the dress that made me feel like a princess, confirmed by my 4 year old niece. I wore it comfortably from 3pm to 1am. Because it was made to my size, I needed next to no alterations. The comfort and flow of the dress made it so easy to dance in.

The problem was that I had been looking for months for a wedding dress that would satisfy the desires of both my inner child, with her fairy-tale inspired princess-dress dreams, and at the same time my current, more refined fashion appetite that channeled such icons as audrey, jackie, every Prada thing ever made. Further, I wanted to find a modest dress that I could wear to get sealed in a Temple, which is believed by my church to be a highly sacred House of God for those non-Mormon's out there. Well, after much searching I had at least made some solid decisions: No sequence, pearls, lace, or any embellishments. I wanted to focus on the quality of the fabric, lines, and construction of the dress, and I didn't want the integrity of these key elements to be compromised by gaudiness. I wanted pure silk. I wanted beautiful ruching. I wanted mermaid style, old hollywood elegance. And I wanted it all under $3,000. Preferably under $2,000. That's where Penny, the dressmaker behind "Penelope's" came in. She was referred to me by the same highly trusted source who recommended my photographer. Going to see Penny for the first time, I felt like I was Cinderella going to her fairy godmother with a pumpkin and some rats. I was sure I would get laughed at for my unrealistic desires, and talked into a standard, boring, mormon cut-out of a dress (read: t-shirt style short-sleeved top, puffy A-line skirt. Buttons down back. Long veil.) I was all but shaking. But that was not the case! Penny listened and took notes, and even presented me with a book of silk samples to choose from. She sketched out the dress with my direction, and then quoted me a price that almost took the wind out of me. I wanted to shout from the rooftops- "The Church is True!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Penny is very talented and will go any direction you'd like. I got soooooo many compliments on my dress. Everyone said it was so "me." Her pricing is quite reasonable. This sounds like a dream come true, right?! Just make sure you schedule pretty far out. I wasn't so on top of things, but got married in November, the slow season, which is why she was able to fit me in. I highly recommend Penelope's for a custom made gown.

I came here, looking for a veil only. Originally, they were not even going to let me try on my dress with the veil because I did not purchase my dress there. We tried to be understanding, but there was literally nobody else in the store that could've possibly seen my dress. We even asked if we could just try it on in the fitting room so that no other customers would be able to see it if they came in. The girl working went and asked the owner and she made an exception, Which we were very grateful for. But then my veil was ordered wrong:( I was very in love with one veil, but the length of another. They told me since it was the same designer they could basically combine the two. We double triple quadruple checked and they reassured us. It was possible. I even checked over text message, They reassured me again. It would be correct. My veil showed up indeed, NOT correct. They didn't really take responsibility. They blamed the website for the error. I kind of expected since it was a designer for them to call or message the designer directly, to be entirely positive since I was told it had never been done before. The only options to fix it that were given to me, were basically to receive a refund, take the incorrect veil home or purchase a new one. No discount was offered. No compensation. Mind you, I waited 4 weeks for my veil which I know is awesome turn around time. BUT I did let them know that my wedding was very soon, and they assured me the correct veil would arrive in time. Now I am practically out of time, with no veil. Again, the store is very pretty from what I saw, they have beautiful dress dresses. But I am a little annoyed at their lack of accountability and problem-solving.

At most, there are only 3 customers in the store at a time to give you a more personalized experience. It's nice to have the attention of one employee and to not be surrounded by multiple girls also needing attention and dresses to try on. The associate will ask what your budget is up front and stick within that budget the entire time. I like that she even pulled dresses that were below my budget. The shop I went to before this one always gave me dresses that were either exactly my budget or just over it. I appreciated that aspect of this experience. Not only is this shop beautiful, but it offers so many dress options to choose from. The girl helping me was experienced with all the dresses offered in the shop and asked me specific questions of what I was looking for. When she came back from pulling dresses for me to try on, they were all exactly what I was envisioning and described. I tried on several dresses, but the one I bought really is "The Perfect Dress." I am so happy with my purchase and I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day! Why I didn't give it the full 5 stars: once I had told the girl I was buying my dress, her attitude changed from friendly to getting me out because she had "made her sale." She was more than happy to answer questions before I bought the dress, but once I asked another dress question after the sale, she told me to just google it. I also wish they offered alterations in house, like other bridal shops do. She did give me a list of seamstresses to reach out to, but kept changing the name of the person she was recommending. Ultimately, I would still recommend this store to anyone buying a wedding dress. The selection is one of the best and I am in love with my dress.
