Husb met their master plumber John, who came out at request since our 2 yr old new house water heater was rusting, not leaking. He recommended a tankless replacement apx $4300. The cheap builder wall fittings were also replaced. A few weeks later a good amount of water was leaking out from the wall fittings into our garage.That evening around 9p with the leak flow increasing, we called for help, they said someone would be out w/i the next couple hours. We shut off water. No one ever came. Next morning called again, got apologies, John showed up around 930a.The issue was the saudering around the fitting. I'm concerned the water got in the wall, I'm assured no water came in, unsure I can believe that and hope we won't see or fall to later mold issues. I appreciate the apologies for the issue/delays, the ofc also gave a small gift check that probably won't even cover the water cost, luckily we saw.I do wonder if they were trying to prevent night call out expenses. I don't think I'd use this company in the future or recommend to any friend or neighbor. They were totally professional.The other thing we learned is that Port St Lucie which requires a permit for this work, doesn't come out to inspect they do it over the phone with FaceTime, what can they possibly see, they missed this, what's the point in a permit except for the city to get $$. read more

Do not purchase a water treatment system from this company. They misrepresented what their product could provide. The plumber, that sold water treatment system to me claimed that the Brita Pro Whole House Water Treatment System would ensure that I would have no more rust on my utensils after they installed the system. That was false, I have had rust on my new stainless steel utensils that I place in the dishwasher which are dishwasher safe and also utensils that I hand wash. Additionally, their plumber claimed by showing me data in his binder that the sodium in my water was high at 93.2ppm and the water treatment system would remove the sodium. The recommended amount of sodium in the water from the EPA is 20ppm which is in Benjamin Franklin's binder which their plumber showed me to entice me to buy the system and I took a picture of this. The system clearly does not remove sodium. That also was also false.Benjamin Franklin's test that they claimed they recently did of my water revealed that the sodium in my water is 110ppm. Now why would I want a water treatment system that permits more sodium in my water than the 93.2ppm (in my city) that their plumber deemed was high in his presentation? Why would I want a water treatment system that is much higher than the 20ppm that the EPA recommends. If the sodium in my water should decrease after the system is installed, why is it now higher after it was installed? Their service manager has poor customer service skills. He dodged my calls and failed to return my emails and has failed to check if the water treatment system is defective even though I am supposed to have a 5 year warranty. This company has not even come out to try and fix the system which shows you how they probably know they misrepresented facts to get me to purchase the system. Instead, their service manager had the nerve to offer that I could either get a $1,000 reduction in price or they will remove the system from my home but I would still have to pay 50% for the system which is $3,292.88 of the total price of $6,585.75. "Will they assess the problem and provide me a work estimate with Only the $79 fee tomorrow?" Both times, she replied, "Yes, that's correct." They are charging us more then any other company ever has for a new disposal- when I spoke to them that I felt I was being taken advantage of, they were not at all easy to work with- I feel I am trapped into using them (I signed the contact, then they jacked up the price even more) because a lot of plumbers are closed right now, and I think they are price gouging because of the current situation. She hired Ben Franklin Plumbing of Port Saint Lucie to install a drain and plumb water at a point where she had just about had enough of the entire renovation process...but along came Bill with Ben Franklin Plumbing, he is the best plumber and all around a very good employee! I decided to save money and do part myself (which he also helped explain what I could do) but on Sunday I realized I couldn't I called again and once again the very next day he came back out and finished the job for us. John from Benjamin Franklin was at our condo today to replace a 25 year old water heater and the shutoff valves for the incoming water line and the line to the water heater. He did a most professional job, cleaned up completely and was very personable. It was extra convenient because he showed up with everything necessary to perform the work after setting up the appointment yesterday! I do think the pricing was a bit higher than we expected, but I'm basing that on my old experience of driving down to Home Depot, picking up a new water heater and installing it myself and that was 25 years ago. As with most anything, you can have 2 out of 3 of fast, professional or cheap. We are happy with the fast and professional and will call them again if needed. read more

We'll never hire these guys again. We called Benjamin Franklin to fix our leaking water heater in the home we bought. The only reason we called them was that they installed the appliance and we had a transferable warranty. John, a master plumber, arrived quickly and assessed the issue to be covered by the warranty. Even with that, we would have to pay $100 "water heater upgrade fee" plus $125 permit fee. He pointed to his tablet computer and said "we get the permit automatically via computer" as soon as you say to do the work. We elected to go ahead with it because it was cheaper than buying a different heater. It turns out they never even bothered to apply for the plumbing permit until after we caught them redhanded. They called to apologize and explain how it was a communication failure. I don't believe them and will never hire them for other plumbing work. read more

The plumber John that showed up was incredibly knowledgeable. He was able to serve my plumbing needs. I was already impressed, but John refused to stop impressing me. He went outside of his realm as a plumber and set up my home network, changed my breaks on my car, repaired my leaking ceiling, counseled my fiancé and I's failing relationship (We've never been so happy). I was tempted to provide a 4 star review for John's service because no matter what John's ass crack never showed up once during the entire visit. I feel that I was robbed from the full experience. I didn't do business with this local plumber, however, Benjamin Franklin is still the parent company of the scammers who tried to take me over in Orlando. I adjusted my review to help the local business, however, the business is ultimately still a part of the Benjamin Franklin Plumbing network. If these people are honest and their parent company isn't, then, it ruins the brands reputation as a whole. The local management said that they are a separate company and they claim to be honest and trustworthy. As it stands Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is the name of the parent company. I will try to be as specific as possible so that those reading can make their own interpretation. I am a state licensed general contractor and inspector. I am very capable of performing the plumbing work that I was requesting myself, however I have offices in Jupiter and Miami and was going to be in Miami all this week. I contacted Benjamin Franklin Plumbing last Friday and spoke with the gentleman that answered the phone. I informed him that I had a rental property in Port St Lucie that I had replaced the countertops with granite and needed someone to re-plumb under the sink. (The Y, p traps and everything was still there) I was very detailed in explaining to the gentleman on the phone what needed to be done. I identified myself as a contractor and requested an APPROXIMATE cost to reconnect the sink base plumbing to the two new sinks. (I provided the new faucet, and with exception of the two new sink collars, and perhaps a little adjusting of the traps,all they needed was about an hour of labor) The gentleman gave me the whole sales pitch of how ALL their employees were licensed and had to pass a background check, but would NOT provide me even with a ballpark cost of what it be to re-plumb TWO sinks!!! (If your a plumbing company, and you've done this hundreds of time, you should be able to provide a customer with a ballpark number. Nevertheless, even after I explained that i didn't want to waste their time if their figure was was going to be out of the ballpark, he insisted that the plumbing technician would have to go out and look at it. (For the records, ALL of my phone conversations are automatically recorded) NEVER during the course of the conversation was I informed that there would be a service fee for the visit. (You know where I'm going with this...but it gets better) The tenants were going to be out of town till Monday night. The appointment was scheduled for this past Tuesday morning. A tech by the name of Aaron went to the property on Tuesday and contacted me from there to inform me that the cost to re-plumb the two sinks was $599!! I told him they were insane!! His response was that he was aware that may be a little more money than other contractors...THEN, he said I had to pay a $79 service call fee. That's when I lost it. No. I did not pay the fee and it's not the first time that my telephone recordings have proved indispensable. I apologized to my tenants. Rescheduled my Wednesday meetings, stopped at Home Depot Wednesday morning and purchased the sink collars, valves, and a p trap just in case, and headed to Port St Lucie. The total cost of the materials I purchased was $46.87. (Of which $5.44 was not used) I arrived in Port St Lucie yesterday at 11:00AM. After some conversation and holiday greetings exchanged with my tenant I was back in my vehicle to return to Miami by 12:35. Job completed!! Less than $50 in materials, an hour of labor, and these CROOKS wanted $599. YOU ALL DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF BY THESE GUYS. The sewer system in my Port St. Lucie home backed up on a Saturday morning. I called Ben Franklin Plumbing for a service call. The lady who answered the phone suggested I FIRST contact the City of Port St. Lucie Utility Department and THEN have BF Plumbing come by. I asked what the Saturday service charge was, and they stated $79 (pretty reasonable for a weekend, I think). The City came out within an hour (AWESOME response time, City of Port St. Lucie!!) of being called, diagnosed the problem as being on their end, fixed the problem in 15 minutes, and left. I called BF Plumbing back to cancel the appointment. Amazingly honest. Saved me $79. Ben Franklin Plumbing will be my first call if I need plumbing services in the future, and I hope you give them a shot as well. read more

The only thing this company has going for them is that they come in a timely manner. I've used them twice. I found out they overcharged me. When they inspected my house they came up with numerous things that were wrong ... then suggested I purchase a yearly plan to get a discount (which I did like an idiot). They said I needed a new hot water heater (that was over two years ago and that same water heater is still working). When I called to have the hot water heater serviced (as part of the yearly plan) they told me they wouldn't service it because it was too old (this was said by the same guy who sold me the plan and told me that servicing the hot water heater was part of the plan). On the second occasion, I was charged for something that didn't need to be done because what I thought was a plumbing leak turned out to be a sealing leak around sink ... but Franklin Plumbing guy said he fixed problem with pipe. read more

What a rip off . They came out my washer was backing into sink. The problem is that house old pipes going into house are smaller than pipes for washer. We figured this was the problem. So that was a $50.00 charge. My husband then said how much just to snake out from roof . This house is small 817sq feet. It would be a $99 charge to get on roof. If your service tech was on site for 1.5hours to install a handle and a flapper. The tech needs training. As I said before $240 for to replace those items is outrageous. To sucker people in with a coupon and then charge that is criminal. Your tech may have been sitting in the parking lot for 1.5 hours but the time he spent inside working was only 20 minutes. I needed a new kitchen faucet so I bought one at Lowes. I couldn't install it due to some issues. I called Ben Franklin Plumbing they quoted me $300 to install it. Then they tried to sell me their "Private Label" faucet which was in a plain unmarked box. Cost...$400 plus $300 to install it! $700!!! Are you kidding me. I promptly dismissed him.
