What should have been a quick request became one of the most stressful and hurtful experiences I've ever had in a medical setting. I left feeling disrespected, ignored, and deeply let down by people I had trusted with some of the most important moments of my life. From the moment I arrived, the check-in receptionist made me feel like an inconvenience. Her tone was cold, and instead of offering patience or understanding, I felt judged at a time when I was already vulnerable and simply needed help with a form. I requested to speak with the manager just to understand whether the issue could be resolved. My experiences with Michelle at check-out have been difficult for years. In my personal experience, she has consistently been unpleasant, and others I know who visit this practice have expressed similar concerns. After just delivering a baby, encountering that same attitude again was incredibly discouraging. A basic request for a signed letter from my doctor became another unnecessarily frustrating and emotionally draining interaction. The ultrasound technician (Jennifer) then inserted herself into the situation without, in my view, understanding what was happening. From my perspective, this only escalated the tension and made things more uncomfortable. The most upsetting part of the visit, however, was my interaction with the office manager. She took a long time to come out, and when she did, her approach felt condescending. She spoke down to me and would not allow me to voice my concern. The situation escalated to the point where she stated she would call the police on my husband and me--while our two young children were present--all over a simple form we had inquired about ahead of time. This was shocking and heartbreaking, especially after years of loyalty and thousands of dollars spent at this practice. We were simply trying to understand the situation and advocate for ourselves, yet we were treated like a threat rather than long-time patients. I left the office feeling emotionally crushed. After three pregnancies and years of trust, I felt like none of it mattered. Instead of support and compassion during a vulnerable time, I felt dismissed and misunderstood. In my opinion, the unprofessional behavior I experienced from the front office reflects a larger issue with management. When leadership does not model empathy and professionalism, it impacts the entire patient experience. I believe other mothers and patients should be aware, because the way you are treated during pregnancy or postpartum can deeply affect your emotional and mental well-being. No mother should feel overwhelmed, minimized, or threatened in a place meant to care for her. With that said, I want to express my sincere appreciation for Dr. Leslie, the nursing staff, and former front desk team members Ashley and Jennifer. They consistently treated me with kindness, respect, and genuine care throughout my pregnancies and postpartum visits. Their compassion stands out even more in contrast to my recent experience. I truly hope the physicians at this practice take a closer look at how the current front office staff is treating patients. From what I experienced, there are serious issues that need attention. I went to see her because I am pregnant with third baby in my late 30s. Dr. Sasser came across as very judgmental and critical with comments such as, " This is your last baby, right?" "You should not be pregnant." "You should have waited two full years for another baby," which are not helpful comments since I am already pregnant. Another comment, "OH GOSH, don't gain that much weight again this time around." So, I decided to not continue care with her and see a very supportive and competent physician instead who cares, and who I can trust to advocate for me, and who I feel comfortable with. Dr. Hochberger ended up delivering my first baby because he was on call and he did an amazing job. Very calm and lightened the mood with traveling stories. My second son was also delivered by Dr. Gabai and Dr. Hochberger was called in because they thought I was going to need a C section due to low heart rate. Dr. Gabai was beyond patient with me and tried everything before calling a section. As I was on the table in the OR Dr. Hochberger allowed me to try naturally one more time and guess what?! I ended up giving birth naturally like 3 minutes later on the operating table. It was so amazing because he knew how much I did NOT want a c section which most doctors do not pay attention to. My third child was delivered by Dr. Slaton who also delivered my brother's two babies as well. My third pregnancy was high risk due to having my second son a month early and I was informed that he had an extra Y chromosome which both my husband and I had never heard of. Dr. Slaton made herself available to talk me through what that meant over the phone and my options while I was away on vacation and stayed in touch with the high risk doctor to provide me with the best care possible. She supported me and my husband through the entire process and always made herself available when stressful or confusing situations occurred (like thinking I electrocuted myself once early in the pregnancy). Lol. She was also very generous and donated a lot of things to people who needed them or who couldn't afford them. Her main goal I think was to make a difference not just medically but emotionally with all of her patients, which means a lot when you are a nervous and emotional pregnant person. She came in to deliver Jack even when she was not on call in the middle of the night - I saw in another review that the patient was mad about not knowing who her doctor was- but the point is to know everyone so whoever is on call knows your situation and it's the only practical way to run a practice as doctors should be allowed to have lives of their own and not have to cancel a vacation bc of someone's due date. Anyway my point is that Dr. Slaton was amazing when delivering Jack and also knew how badly I did not want to have a c-section- and tried everything to the extent of putting a heart monitor on the babies head while he was still in the birth canal to monitor him as he was taking a long time to come out. She also made herself available to circumcise him which I had requested bc apparently she is really great at them. All in all the doctors are all amazing, and yes there can be a long wait time but with OBs in general, I've never been to a practice where that wasn't the case and it's all for good reason. That means that they clearly take their time with a patient that may need more services or a doctor is called out to a delivery so the patient is now added to another doctor's already full schedule. Had a good experience here for a few years getting annual well woman check ups until recently when…read morethey billed for extra tests that were not part of the annual visit without telling me about it. Surprise bill came in the mail and when I questioned it, they said that was normal and it was my insurance company that is bad. I disputed with insurance who said the doctor billed for extra unnecessary tests. No other obgyn/gyn I've seen has done this before. I won't be returning. Would rather not see a doctor at all than continue to get overcharged.
