Then when significant new damage was discovered during the walkthrough, he blamed us, refused to negotiate for repair costs, had someone do a terrible coverup job, insulted us repeatedly, and threatened to sue if we did not go through with the initial offer. If I could give Jason Smith and his team no stars I would. Jason puts up a good front but will do nothing to help in selling your home. He walked into our home and informed us how beautiful it was and how it would sell really quickly. We ended up selling the house For Sale By Owner with our own sign out front and listing on Zillow as an FSBO. Jason will tell you exactly what you want to hear and makes lots of promises about what he is going to do to help sell your home but never follows through. There were many times that his colleague Lisa would come to the house to do an open house. When we would meet with her after the open house she wouldn't have much feed back for us and would just say it went well and she expected that we would see offers from the efforts. We would often times after showing ask for feedback about the house and Jason nor his team would have any kind of valuable constructive criticism. It would usually be something like "Yeah, they loved the house." "Ceilings were a little low upstairs but otherwise they loved it." There were also numerous times that we would attempt to make contact with Jason and it would take hours or days to get a response from him. Jason's communications skills are lacking. He is 100% a salesman of himself and his company but not of your house. After we discontinued our contract with Jason his office still had paperwork for our house that we needed in order to complete the sale of our house. We attempted to make contact with him for approximately 5 weeks. When we showed up at office to get the paperwork they initially stated that they did not take any paperwork from us. After further pushing stating that they did have the paperwork and it had been dropped at an attorney they called the office and surprise the paperwork was there.

I had him has my property manager for years and he always was able to get me into a "great" deal only for it to be a dump. His strategy....use out of state investors to bring their money into Watertown, fix up a dump, let him put Section 8 tenants or TLS tenants in there only to have your home destroyed. Use the few bucks you made if tenants paid to fix up the property again...rinse....repeat while he collected his monthly management fee. I was investing in Watertown for about 4 years and I'm still trying to get out of there. I moved everything over with Darrin Ashcroft that I have left. Micah shouldn't be in real estate or property management as he does not care about the investor evidenced by the trash he put in my home. I don't think he ran background checks or looked at prior convictions. Somehow everything he touched turned into a time suck. I have no idea how he stays in business personally. The last two property managers we had, they left us in a very dire situation. We felt hopeless and defeated. We decided to give one more shot and started looking for a new property manager. In the process of interviewing new prospects, we came across Micah Matteson. Hiring him as our property manager was the best decision we have made. He understood our situation. He went out of his way to accommodate us, and within the first 2 yrs we were able to turn things around. When our properties were profitable again, he helped us selling them. Last one was sold this week. We are very grateful to Micah and his team for all they did during the past 4 yrs to make this happen as we are moving our business to other directions.
