This place does have a lot of beginner golfers like myself, and everyone playing the course was fairly nice. My issue was with the staff and the way we were treated. My partner had asked the staff at the front if we could play alone, since his gf is new to golf and he also asked for a cart. Low behold, they had no carts and the guy told us we had to wait until someone returned one. Then he started going off about how if he gave preference to us he would have to do it with everyone blah blah blah. I'm sorry but what? We were not asking for preference merely for him to work with us? Every other course we've played at locally has been accommodating and have normally let us play alone and if they can't at that moment, they are nice about it and will tell us if we want to start earlier or come back another time. I will also add that we choose to go at times when it's not so packed for this intent and purpose because I'm still learning so I'm not as fast as the other players neither as good. I'm not sure where the attitude came from. Especially when it appeared like they overbooked the damn course, since there was 0 carts and 0 carts to carry your golf bag!! If they overbooked that sounds like an internal problem and also you don't need to be mean or rude to new players. This is one of the main reasons women don't play golf because of experiences like this. I was shocked and disappointed at the comment because he could've just said hey unfortunately I can't right now or can you come back later or something. He acted like we were asking for special treatment, newsflash I see golfers play alone ALL the time it's really not that big of a deal or an ask... Majority of places locally understand and at least work with you. They understand if you're a beginner you might need some extra time vs shoving you in a group to get the course moving because they overbooked. I will also add that the people in front and in the back were pretty far from us the whole time so I'm not sure what the big deal was with allowing us to play alone. The quality of the fairways is amazing and the bunkers are fluffy. My family enjoy our times at the club. For me the best part is that I can go and play 18 holes of golf is under 3 hours, outside of the typical busy hours like Saturday morning. I never have to worry about being hit by a golf ball and people are very friendly. Every hole is different and is a good challenging course to play. The greens are fast often 11+. The club is investing a lot into improving, since I've been there I've seen a new pool deck, pickle ball courts, tennis and pickle ball court floodlights, new gym with Foresight Eagle Sim Room, Spin Studio, Large studio room, and many other things. He buys components from Monark to custom make reasonably priced sets. He also is an expert coach. I've taken 4 golf lessons from him. My game has noticeably improved with his advice. Because I have things to do in the back". I laughed because I thought he was joking. This dude was dead serious. It took a moment to process because it was so blatantly offensive, but I realized that he was implying that he needed to supervise me while I was in the store, and that he was rushing me because he had more important things to do in the back of the store. I literally walked out without saying another word, and as I walked away I heard him lock the deadbolt behind me, even though according to the posted hours, the store was supposed to be open another 2 hours. SO DISRESPECTFUL it's almost laughable. Great job losing a sale of hundreds of dollars idiot. Now I have to pay triple over retail at golf mart or settle for clubs from 1980 at play it again. The golf stores in sonoma county are a joke. And so is the owner of this place. I STRONGly recommend going elsewhere for your golf equipment.

It's really fun to see the variety of experience levels, ages, and everything else but what they have in common is coming here to have fun. Most days of the week these courts are being used by pickleballers so even if these times don't work for you, you can always try to drop in and get some pickleball under your belt. February is Black History Month Future US Army officer and future baseball legend Jack Roosevelt Robinson was born 31 January 1919, in Cairo, Georgia, to a family of sharecroppers. Robinson never drank and was a life-long Civil Rights Activist. Growing up, he excelled at several sports and attended the University of California at Los Angeles, where he was the first athlete to letter in four varsity sports: baseball, basketball, football and track. After financial difficulties forced Robinson to drop out of UCLA, he joined US Army in 1942, assigned to a segregated Army cavalry unit in Fort Riley, Kansas. Having the requisite qualifications, Robinson, and several other black soldiers, applied for admission to Officer Candidate School (OCS) then located at Fort Riley. Although the Army's initial July 1941 guidelines for OCS had been drafted as race neutral, the applications of Robinson and his black colleagues were delayed for several months. After protests by heavyweight boxing champion Joe Louis (then stationed at Fort Riley) and with the help of Truman Gibson (then an assistant civilian aide to the Secretary of War), the black soldiers were accepted into OCS. Robinson was commissioned an Army 2nd Lieutenant January 1943, and assigned to Fort Hood, Texas, where he joined the 761st "Black Panthers" tank battalion. 6 July 1944, he boarded an Army bus. The driver ordered officer-and-a-gentleman Robinson, who was in uniform and the only black, to move to the back of the bus although the Army had commissioned that unsegregated bus line service. Robinson refused. The driver called the military police, which took Robinson into custody. He was subsequently court-martialed for two counts of insubordination during questioning. An all-white panel of nine officers acquitted Robinson. He was then transferred to Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky, where he served as a coach for Army athletics until receiving an Honorable Discharge in November 1944. Robinson became the first black player in Major League Baseball. Despite his talent and success as a player, Robinson faced and overcame tremendous racial discrimination and hatred throughout also his baseball career, from the public and some fellow players. While playing in the south, Jim Crow laws prevented Robinson from using the same hotels and restaurants as his teammates. In 1947, Robinson was the National League's Rookie of the Year. In 1949, he was named the National League's Most Valuable Player and League Batting Champ. A six-time All-Star, Robinson played on the National League All-Star team from 1949 through 1954 and led the Dodgers to six National League pennants and a 1955 World Series champion. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962, his first year of eligibility.
