This was a good haunted house with a very weird ending! We got tickets online and came on a less busy Sunday evening. We arrived just a few minutes before our scheduled time on the ticket. We were ushered inside and then waited in a queue for about 30 minutes. It was okay and the anticipation was building! The 3D glasses were a nice added bonus. Based on what I had read, I was expecting more moving floors unless that was just the illusion. The strobe lights were pretty intense and the fog room was fantastic. My friends and I really enjoyed the scares that we had and the attractions themselves. Sometimes it was hard to see and follow the path especially in the pitch black rooms. When I walked through the last curtain, I initially thought I had gone out an exit that wasn't the end. We came out on the opposite side of the building from where we started and there were no signs or anything that indicated we were at the end and then had to walk three-quarters of the way around the building to get back to our car. It was very odd that there was no signage. The guy with the chainsaw running after and scaring people at the end was cool, but it was somewhat of a letdown that we then had to walk back around the building. I expected us to leave the haunted house similarly to where we entered, but no. I enjoyed it. I'll likely come back in the future to check it out again. Recommend if you are looking for a good scare and I recommend coming Sunday night as it was a lot less crowded then a Friday or Saturday night. read more

We waited 20 minutes outside and 45 minutes inside in the line. Despite not knowing when we would enter the attraction, we felt that the staff were coordinated, organized, and excited about their jobs. The walk through the labyrinth of ghosts and ghouls was super exciting and heart-racing, with many moments where they jump out at you, follow you, or scare you with loud noise or creepy voices. Avoid wearing a baseball cap! Mine kept getting caught in stuff like the drapes and other decorations. Definitely worth the price! Highly recommended. Free parking was easy and close. read more

I came here all the way from NJ. I have heard such amazing things and I just had to check it out. I am SO glad I did. This place was 100% worth the trip. I go to many haunts each year and I've been to A LOT in my lifetime so far and this is probably in my top 3 now. I did come on a day that was raining so it was pretty empty so I am not sure if this is typical but my husband and I went in on our own and we were not stuck with another group. I appreciated this VERY much! We only ran into 1 group once which we let them pass us by because they were so scared, they were flying through! All staff was pretty nice and the monsters/actors were fantastic. They stayed in character. I didn't run into anyone who looked they like they didn't want to be there or on their phone or something annoying like that. Everything looked so realistic... the monsters, the props, and the animatronics were out of this world. The haunt was LONG. Honestly, this place was just art. I have already recommended this place to many people I met and I really really really hope come here again! read more

Bennett's Curse for the win again! This year was just as fun as last. I do have a few suggestions for upcoming events. The setup to enter is oddly set up, the picture booth is located on the opposite side of a fence where the line is, this means you would have to get out of line or come back to the entrance once you finish for a photo op. If you move it to the exit it allows people a photo opportunity upon exiting. They also have a snack station which is oddly located as well, if you know anything about this place you know the lines are usually long, if you place the snack station outside for those waiting in line I believe the sales would be much better. Once you get inside and grab snacks you only have a few minutes to eat them before the line moves and it's your turn to go in. So far as scary goes....they have it down to a science. I will continue to visit and i'm very excited about the new holiday attractions. read more

We went to the White Marsh location (which is an outdoor trail). It was TERRIBLE, you walk through the wood and through small, shed size buildings. Half of the structures were just unrealistic decorations with no real people in them to scare you, also no one was in the woods trying to scare us. We kept waiting for the chainsaws to turn on and make us jump (never happened). The trail was so dark we had to look down most of the time to make sure we didn't trip and or fall, the terrain was up hill, downhill, slanted and also had a lot of tree stubs and vines to make you trip. It was a total rip off and wasn't scary at all. Our group ages ranged from 14-50 and no one would recommend or return to this location. read more

I went to Bennett's Curse this past weekend for the Monster Laser Tag event. It was a combination of the haunted house mixed with laser tag. It was an inventive spin on a haunted house but didn't really sell the price for me. The monsters didn't play the laser tag back with you. As you can imagine, playing laser tag should not be a one sided game. I was hoping it would be more of a back and forth where you might have some actual fear or incentive to play along. As for the actual frights, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. I wouldn't return again but there were a few rooms that were good. The fog room where you literally couldn't see anything except for the monsters who appeared a foot in front of you was interesting. If you have eyesight issues be warned that it's impossible to see anyway. The 3D glasses rooms with the strobe lights and the spinning wheel were also good. Everything else was sub par and was more of the same old stereotypical fright tricks. The wait time is atrocious. We waited for well over a hour with just 20 people in front of us. For reference, that was just filling up one line (of the five or six available that were empty). I wouldn't want to return in October during the height of scary season and have to wait even longer. This might be one of those things that the speed pass is actually useful for; however, it's also vastly overpriced at around $45. I do appreciate that they make you wait so long so that you can enjoy the haunted house and not be stuffed into it with large groups of people. We purchased it online via groupon for about $5 off the normal price of $35. If you purchase it in-person beware that the ATMs look sketchy and also didn't work. If you purchase via Bennett's Curse website there's an additional $15 transaction fee. read more

I love Halloween and was super excited to drive over an hour to return to Bennett's Curse (last time I went it was closer to Laurel). They have done an amazing job advertising the with elaborate masks and phenomenal scenes... it was time to go back. Upon arriving they did a great job of distancing the groups for COVID, checking temps, and asking a few questions. The greeter / security gentleman even gave us his umbrella to use in the rain while we waited. We paid for the speed pass, was handed 3D glasses, and away we went. Perfect start The 3D area was decent, but the lack of anything actually happened made it just a walk through. We had maybe two actors show up and they just popped out of very obvious places and yelled at us (they were wearing masks). From there it opened up into a dimly lit alley way where the rest of the haunt was about the same... pre fabricated walls with very very obvious places for actors to jump out. Zero originality (that the ads and marketing show). Each actor was the same as the ones before.... jump out, scream, disappear, repeat. I love to be be scared and this become more and more sad as I went though. I don't want to remove any acting credit where it is due.... the people in the wheelchairs were great... they deserve raises and were a shining light on a lack luster cast. Each prefabricated room was filled with great detail and massive statues.... but because of bad lighting, lil placed fabric ceilings, and and a confusing path much of that was lost. Even as we walked through many of the probs were broken or did ever move. Very sad I was also very concerned with COVID issues, Bennett's did a great job up front of spacing and hand sanitizer. Once you are in the crowds bunch together, there are numerous areas with cloth dangling in your face where hundreds of people have touched. Two or three rooms have ceiling to floor cloths in the way so you end up getting a bit lost, running into other groups, and again fighting cloth fabric hundreds of people have touched. I didn't feel as if they cared about the customer once you were inside. After all this. I can hear the chainsaw.... I can smell the gas... the best exciting part of the haunt is coming the big finish..... a short guy in a hockey mask walks from behind a well lit wall. No passion or enthusiasm, no running, just a running chainsaw about chest high..... then he looked at us and walked back behind the wall. Over 100.00 spend, two plus hours of driving, I was super excited. All the hype and one big massive disappointment. Save your money... find another haunted attraction or go bowling. read more

We have been going to Bennett's Curse ever since they were setting up in the Arundel Mills Mall parking lot. We have always enjoyed their haunt. This year, however, something changed... for the much, MUCH better!!! From the newly enhanced 3D entrance queue area to the revamped layout and upgraded animatronics and props, it was all so awesome this year. While we were waiting to enter the haunt, we had a very nice talk with an employee (Jill Bennett, I think) who gave us some useful and fun information about the haunt and the decorations and props. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything and for making us feel welcome. Once we entered the haunt, however, that's when the real fun started! There were so many amazing, larger than life props and animatronics spread all throughout the rooms and mazes. There was always something interesting and scary to look at. And, just when we would start to feel calm and comfortable in a room, someone or something would jump out and scare the crap out of us! All four of us in our group jumped at least a dozen times each! The actors were all top notch, and they were all very convincing. All of the actors were great, but we especially enjoyed the actors in the "hospital" portion of the haunt. They were just so creepy! The jump scares were well paced, not too many or too few. Just enough to keep us jumping... and screaming... and running away from all those monsters as fast as we possibly could! We would definitely recommend Bennett's Curse Haunted House to anyone who wants to see amazing, larger than life rooms and sets, incredible theming, massive creepy statutes and animatronics and some of the best haunt actors in the region. It's very obvious that everyone involved with Bennett's Curse loves what they do, and they do it very, VERY well! Bravo! read more

So I absolutely loved Bennett's Curse!!! For the past few years we have been going to field of screams in Olney but my husband was tired of it and wanted to try something new. We were among some of the first people to arrive on a Sunday when they opened at 7pm. The wait was long but it was well worth it. They let each group go in separately. This means that you get your own scare experience without having to worry about other people ruining it for you. It was just me and my husband together and Bennett's Curse definitely got some genuine screams out of me. My husband doesn't spook easily he really just likes to set me up. From beginning to end they did a great job with the scare factor and making sure your experience was great. My favorite/scariest room was this fog room where you really couldn't see anything below you and the creature in the room kept jumping out and scaring me. First off, let me say Bennett's Curse is one of the best haunted houses in the area, period. Not only is the scenery on point, but the makeup and costumes for every single room and actor is so well done (10/10). That being said, the only gripe I have is that I have gone to Bennett's Curse twice before, once in 2014 and then in 2011. The other times the haunted house was in a different location (when they were near Arundel Mills that was by far my favorite location), but the themes never change. All the times I have gone there is an Underworld section, a section with neon paint that you use special glasses to see, which is their Inferno section, and an Asylum section. I believe this year the Coulrophobia (Clown) section was new. I think Bennett's Curse could take it to the next level by offering different themes each year to keep repeat visitors on their toes. Lastly, a warning to anyone going. Do. *NOT*. Run. From experience, Bennett's Curse isn't as enjoyable when you catch up to the group in front of you, so make sure to take your time and WALK. The actors will try to slow you down to make sure you stay in your separate small groups, but if you run through it, you'll miss all the scares towards the end of Bennett's Curse. read more

Came here on the Sunday before Halloween with my husband. There was already a line to get in the door at 6:50pm. Luckily they opened the doors a bit before 7pm and since we had two speed pass tickets we were granted access to a separate line. There's the general admission line which is the longest, then the speed pass line, and the VIP line. After the safety announcements they started letting VIP people in what looked like groups of about 5-8 people in at a time. Even VIP people who joined the line late were still given priority over the other two lines. My group of two was finally picked around 7:30pm and we were joined by another group of 3. They go over some basic rules again (no flash photography or video, if you drop your phone they can't look for it until the end of the night, and no touching and you also won't be touched). In we went! Spooky music and lighting and jump scares started immediately! Every room had at least one actor hiding as well as lots of additional props and pieces of fabric or plastic to get around. Some actors would pop out and scream while others would silently sneak around and just get really close to your face. I was impressed with the makeup and costumes and the different approaches to scaring people! My first reaction to being scared is yelling "NO! Ohhhh no!" and one actor followed me and creepily whispered "Yessss. Oh yes!" which was hilarious and spooky! Some rooms seem outdated but as you go through the 20-30 minute walk you get to experience all sorts of sights and sounds. The 3D glasses and black light rooms were really cool effects and something a little different. I will say the only downside is that we could hear the group immediately in front of us so kind of knew what to expect. And there were two times where we were stopped completely because the lines had all backed up. But overall we had a really fun time! My husband who rarely gets jump scared even got scared once! I would recommend getting there early and be ready to wait! They do have a couple things to make the line more fun. Fantastic haunted experience, even during COVID. We love haunted houses and travel around the region each fall in search of our favorite scare! We went to 2 in Pennsylvania and were disappointed. One in particular felt really unsafe and was overcrowded and not scary. But Bennett's was fantastic. They took safety very seriously with spacing and hand sanitizer all over and timed entry. The staff were all super helpful. And the scares were GREAT!! The actors did a great job and the props were fabulous. My favorite haunted this year and generally my fav every year! Went to their Krampus Holiday Scare event in December 2020. Easily one of the best haunts I've been to in years. Expertly run, great staff, and the props/decor are astounding! Their Covid precaution game was super on point too. Sanitizer everywhere (and required before entering), 100% mask use and verifying nose and chin had to be covered, temperature checks, and they staggered all groups entering. They told us they have another event coming up for Valentine's day, and we can't wait to go! read more

Once you get inside there is a half hour wait in a small room with about 100 people, many of whom weren't wearing masks. There were no employees enforcing the use of masks in the waiting room. This situation is too dangerous; people should wait outside until it's their time to actually begin the tour. During non-Covid times this would be a great attraction; as it is now, it's a Covid spreader event. read more

Family Run business. They have fought hard to be here and deserve it. I really hope they find a permanent spot soon! This family really worked hard and gives it their all. Also, everyone is paid on their staff and they employ military. They take care of their employees and pay them and I will happily pay whatever they charge to get in. Now onto the review: Very warm waiting area. Worth 10.00 upgrade if you are willing to pay extra money and have things to do but if you are just hanging out Waiting from 2 rows in but not outside takes about 40 minutes to get through the line. Upgrade not even 3 minute wait once getting in. JayRod was very helpful in the beginnings explained there are 4 separate rooms. Walking into the line 3 scary people Once in the scares just kept coming. Lots of people jumping out and so many scares. 4 different scenes and you can tell when you go from one to the other. Artwork is on point. It is so detailed and intricate. They stagger groups very well and it takes between 20 and 30 minutes to get through the entire thing. Great costumes and artwork. Owners are really great and out in the open. Talk to the people working they really like their jobs. Write reviews. Overall, it was scary. The first two parts are the scariest until the end which is very creepy too. By half way you don't know what is real and fake anymore. They do a great job with the costumes and they are very realistic. After speaking with owners at the end I found out they really invest in their costumes and honestly it is hard to tell what is real and what is a statue eventually. We drove 1.5 hours to get here and it was worth it. read more

Just got done with the haunted house - not that scary but definitely long to get through it all and that was cool but one of the characters really said THE MOST RACIST SHIT I EVER HEARD!!! There was a black guy in the group I was with and there was a character with a cane beard and top hat who kinda looked like Abe Lincoln. My buddy jumped and said oh shit is that Abe Lincoln and the actor responded by saying "no I'm not the man that freed you" referencing savory and the emancipation proclamation. SO INAPPROPRIATE!!!!! I've been to haunted houses across the country and this easily ranks as the worst. I'd rather go to scaremare at liberty and get preached at about Jesus than hand my money over to these people. I wasn't scared one time! Not once. To be fair there may have been a few mitigating factors: 1) they were clearly short staffed...unless you include the insane number of mannequins who looked as though they'd seen better days; 2) speaking of large numbers of broken mannequins this place is four sections of repetitive drivel; 3) only one actor interacted with us (kudos to the guy crawling on the floor); 4) instead of scaring us the actors spent more than 90% of the time rudely telling us to move faster...this killed the ambience (for the record they told us the experience would be 45 minutes long...by our watches it was closer to 30); 5) the bathrooms were scarier than the actual haunted house (dear ladies, bring lots of wet-wipes and maybe a sham-wow to soak up the errant fluids); and, 6) they were so focused on pushing everyone through their meat grinder that we saw every scare TWICE before we got to it. I had gone to Bennett's Curse last year in Jessup and it was really good, one of the best one's in Maryland. I decided that I would spend the extra money and come here again (paid way more than what it's worth.. clearly). I noticed that this year there were a lot of props and a lot of "show", but it was a super big disappointment and not that scary. Not that many people and it seemed half the size of last year (at twice the rate!!!). It was easy to see which were real and fake this year, and many more props than actual people trying to scare you. They sent us in really big groups so we would see what was supposed to scare us (not a good way to handle over flow). Save your money as its not worth it, it's a huge disappointment and you hear so much about it and its publicity, guess what - ITS JUST MARKETING. Not actually and real content itself. If you love this place so much, go to another one like field of screams and you will see how this place is not worth the $$. For those who give this place a good review, not saying you are wrong, I just believe you need to check out the other haunted attractions in the area to raise your bar for the amount of money you pay. They told us that there would be candy at the end and there was, so they get 1 star and not 0. read more

Bennetts Curse haunted attraction in Baltimore is honestly a huge waste of time and money. For such a highly rated haunt I was very disappointed in the lack of actual scares. The lay out is like a maze, sounds cool right? But poorly decorated rooms with rubber props and cheesy anamatronics detract from the entire event . There are hardly any "actors" and at most they only yell at you and bang on the walls. There is no interaction with the staff at all and makes this a bland event. In addition there were so many people going through at the same time that all the "hidden" scares happened before my group got to them. I will give credit to the inferno 3D part. The 3D paint was awesome and I wish this was longer! The attention to detail clearly shows. Sadly this is not scary....just cool to look at. So in conclusion, avoid this and go elsewhere! read more

I went to Bennett's Curse when it was in Jessup Maryland and I can say that it was much better when it was in Jessup. It is is listed as the one of the scariest haunted houses but it wasn't scary at all. It was a 4 part haunted house that was all connected together. The actors wasn't scary at all. I would say this is perfect for kids but maybe not so much adults who enjoy haunted houses. read more

Spectacular scenery and story telling, fantastic scares that I had to thank the actors for, and even one actor breaking character to make sure that this little boy (maybe 10) was taken care of because of how scared he was. After a one year hiatus- entirely out of their control - the Bennetts are back! New location and new displays mix with familiar favorites to prove why this haunt is hands down THE best in the region. This is a yearly tradition for my friend, her daughter, and me. We were so disappointed that they couldn't open last year; and that our angry letters to the city of Baltimore went ignored but this year made up for it entirely. As always, the actors were top notch and the displays impressive. You can tell everything is arranged with great care and attention to detail to really optimize your fear experience. We are the types who linger in each room and look carefully at every small detail (apologies to the terrified young ladies in our group who pleaded - tearfully at times - for us to go faster. Sorry not sorry; watching you freak out was an added highlight). This year's location is smaller than that of previous years, but every room packed a punch and made the experience entirely worth the price of admission. I don't think I can pick a favorite section because each time we stepped into a new room I said, "okay, this is my favorite so far!" The line can get quite long, particularly the closer it is to Halloween, so if you're impatient, I recommend shelling out a little extra for the speed pass ticket, which is reasonably priced and can be purchased online for slightly cheaper than at the door. We went early, arriving shortly after they opened and with the speed pass had no wait at all. The ticket and merch stands are cash only on-site so come prepared for that, but do pay their merch stand a visit. If haunted attractions are your thing and, like me, you revel in the high holy day of Halloween, don't skip this one. You'll be sad. read more

Not the best Haunted House I've been to, but definitely the best one I've been to in Maryland. The haunted house itself was about 40 minutes long, although some of that time was spent waiting for a group to move in the middle of the haunted house. The technology was cool, and I loved hunting for the demon baby. The problem is that there was not enough spacing between groups. We had a 4 group pile up in the middle of the attraction, which resulted in painfully slow movement for the entire second half. I would strongly recommend having the actors hurry up people who are holding up the groups behind them, or increase the amount of time between starting each group. If can't make it back to CT to go to my favorite haunted house next year I may come back. read more

Honestly not worth the 35$. Frightland cost the same amount and is 50x better. Props are great. Actors are as well but.its just not as good as they could make it. Groups of 2-4 would be better...not 6-8. Only part thats actually good is with the light shining from the waist down and the actor disappears, you cant see him.at all....that was really good. I was second to last in line of my group of 5, so I didn't get any jump scares. We couldn't see what happened or who jumped out so they could've still tried to interact with the back of the line. Also some of the actors were lazy in their scares and all they said was "hey" and "roar". The vibe of all the rooms were cool, but there were some places were an scare actor would have fit perfectly. Like the one with the sheets and even the green light fog room someone could've stood up from the fog. Overall I still had a good time, but I would recommended going in a smaller group. read more
