The little stream that follows part of the path was slow moving and provided a perfect mirror of the colorful foliage. The bridges across the water provided some great photo ops. You can learn a bit about Mr Lindbergh's life as well from the placards that are found near the trail head. Great stop.

A fairly compact park near Little Falls near the start of the Mississippi River. There are some…read morestructures from the WPA era (1930's) and a few hiking paths. There is a large campsite and trials marked for hiking and for winter sports. There is a boat launch, swimming and plenty of picnic options. The trails aren't titled so be sure to pick up a map in the case outside the main office, which has limited hours only from Friday to Sunday. A highlight on the trip is Charles A Lindbergh landing site in a former farm field of his first plane which he bought used in Georgia and flew home to Little Falls.

The deduction of one star was due to the secondary green on 17 that was simply a hole in the ground on a par-3 with low cut grass. Almost impossible to really even putt after hitting the "temp green", so I simply picked up and marked a par. I have played 15 rounds of golf in Minnesota over the past 25 days, and was pleased to walk on to this course and pay a fairly low rate after playing a number of local "resort" courses for three times the cost. The course is in just beautiful shape with well cut grass, a challenging first cut of rough, and a very difficult sawgrass kind of rough in the secondary areas. Other than the expected leaves, the greens were magnificent and very challenging. I really enjoyed this course and will be back to play again.

The reason I am not giving five stars is because of the fact that they left unclear whether the team mascot is a monkey, or if the players themselves are actually monkeys. I came to this zoo for the first time in May 2022 and had a wonderful experience. The part I…read moreenjoyed the most was feeding and petting the donkeys. They were so well behaved and friendly. I also got to feed the prairie dogs. The only thing I was not pleased with was that the alpacas seemed aggressive. Overall I had an excellent time here and will definitely come back in the future.

Bend in the River State Park was created after the Graves donated their land to the County of…read moreBenton. The park has benches for sitting, restrooms and manicured walking paths. What was disappointing was the lack of a paper map however the website https://www.co.benton.mn.us/Facilities/Facility/Details/Bend-in-the-River-Regional-Park-2 Has a downloadable map that's very handy. The park has 3 / looks of the river with each overlook containing sign in to detail the history of the Mississippi River end the area of Benton County. it was also interesting learning about the prairie wildfires and how it affected the trees growing in the area. there are also several paths that lead down to the Mississippi River which gives you could access for fishing kayaking and general relaxing along the whispering Waters of the Mississippi River. That is your return to the parking area you can see the Benton homestead which was very interesting learning about life in the 1850s through the early 1900s. however I was disappointed that it seems like the house is not being used for anything and that is a disappointing fact because many young adults could learn about farming in early life if they restore the homes and then use them as a teaching museum. Overall it takes about 35 to 40 minutes to see the whole park and learn about the Mississippi River. It's definitely worth a stop if and only if you're staying in the area however I don't think I would go out of my way to come here unless I was visiting.

I boarded my horse here a number of years ago but the barn has gotten even better since then with a…read morelot of structural additions and upgrades. The owner, Bev, does an amazing job of caring for the horses and treats each of them as if they were her own. The barn, stalls, and arenas are all kept incredibly clean. The indoor arena is very big and a great size for riding. There are also multiple outdoor arenas, including a full-size dressage arena. I believe the tack room is heated now and it is very large. The pastures are awesome and my horse always had a blast running and playing in the HUGE open fields with plenty of grazing. She keeps the horses in small enough groups that there is enough grass for everyone and watches them for personalities to make sure nobody is going to get hurt. The property is huge and even has a big cross country course, too. If I still had a horse, I would board him here in a second! I highly recommend this place. Bev is also an excellent riding instructor and I always got a lot out of my lessons with her so I would check this place out even if you don't have a horse of your own and just want to take lessons.

Great shop and service! We called around to rent bikes for a race we entered and this was the…read morefriendliest place we encountered. We were visiting from out of state and Dave set us up nicely! As we were there getting set up, he had customers, young and old, from the community come in for service, bikes and apparel, and some for general bike advice. Everyone seemed to feel very comfortable in the shop and he treated everyone very respectfully. It just opened in March 2015 and I really hope they get a lot of area business! I would be back for sure!
