Luckily, we didn't need to use their repair or rental service (although there was a rental mountain bike with red dirt on it winking at me & asking to go for a mountain bike ride). I did enjoy the scope of bicycle paraphernalia, I ended up with a cool Cykel water bottle! Since they know Swedish ("Cykel" means bicycle in Swedish), I want to say "puss puss"(kiss in English) to a wonderful bike shop!

I had my brother go in and order some new tires from this place as well as buy/ put an order in for some used parts that he paid for in advance. My brother got 2 new tires, a master cylinder for a front break, a throttle with cables, and gave the owner some money to take a gas cap off a tank and have a new key cut for the bike. He also had him look at the brakes on the bike and make sure they were in good shape. The owner tells my brother he'll call him when the tires come in so he can pick them up. A couple of weeks go by, and no call. So my brother calls the shop, and apparently they've had the tires for over a week, so my brother annoyed goes and picks up the tires and brings them home. He shoots me a photo of the tires. They were basically the complete opposite of what was requested. My brother told him to get vintage high wall tires, and the guy probably just order the first thing he saw. What we ended up with were some slick sport tires you'd put on a spot bike or a rocket. So, I decided to go in and straighten the situation out. I talked to my brother, and picked the tires up. When I picked the tires up my brother mentioned the guy should have a gas cap for the bike as well. I go into the shop. My first impression of the place is small town shop with brains equal in size. I tell the owner of the shop what's up with the tires, and he says "oh yeah, I can totally get those tires in for you", and I say " great let's do that". And then the guy just stands there and looks at me blankly. So I then proceed to ask the man if he can price those tires out for me, and he says " yeah, I can do that", and then again just stares at me. So after a few seconds I was like "well do you want to do that now"? And the guys was like "sure." And he just sort of made up an arbitrary price in his head. I then ask about the gas cap my brother had mentioned. They guy had one that he would sell me but he didn't have a key for it, so I decided I didn't want it. I told the guy let me know asap when the tires get in and he said he would. A week goes by and no call. So I call the place, and end up playing phone tag for a few days. I finally get ahold of the guy. He tells me he hasn't even ordered them yet! Wtf?! I tell the guy not to place the order and that I'll just take the extra money I gave him back for the tires. So after all this BS. While my brother and I are working on my bike I mention that I couldn't find a gas cap, and the one this guy had did't have a key for it my brother said "wait you didn't pick that cap up? I paid that guy for that cap already he was supposed to cut a key for it" that's right people this guy took my brothers money and then tried to sell me the same part! He didn't even cut a key for it. My brother lost the receipt for it so we couldn't get our money back. If all of this isn't shocking enough for you, a few weeks go by, and my brother and I start to work on the brakes. We put the brake lever with the master cylinder on it on the bike, and the master cylinder doesn't work. The guy sold us junk! Also when I finally got the bike out on the street the rear brake squeaks. Like I said before Do not go to this shop!

I was in Brainerd one day and found Easy Riders was close by. I talked to Chuck who is a FANTASTIC salesman, not pushy at all. He was very knowledgeable and listened to all my pre-requisites that I was looking for in an E-Bike. He was able to zero in on the Trek Allant 7+ that fit all of my needs. Especially, the tires that work with gravel roads. One of the modifications I made was to swap out the bike seat for the best one ever - the Cloud.Lastly, of course I needed a bike rack for EBikes and he showed me two possibilities. Being a woman, the first choice (although cheaper), just was bit too complicated for me. I purchased the fold-up Thune bike rack. Chuck was very thorough showing my husband and I how to mount and dismount the rack from the 2" receiver. We secured the Ebike and drove back up north and the Ebike didn't move an inch. My husband was very impressed that the rack with the bike easily fold down to access the back of the truck and lower the tailgate. The rack folded right up and with the wheels was easy to store in the garage.I have been able to take 2 rides on our back country roads; one a 4 mile and one an 8 mile and I wasn't all achy and sore because I had turbo assistance when climbing the hills. I called from 5 miles out of town to make sure they had a supply and that they would be open when I passed through. Less than 30 minutes later I was wheeling my gravel bike into their expansive shop. Talk about great selection! On first glance their inventory would rival many of the bike shops in the Twin Cities. I wanted to spend a bit of time perusing, but it was getting late and I still had a dozen miles to go before setting up camp. I purchased an (expensive) stick of Chamois Butt'r (the tube format works better IMO) and they let me re-fill my water bladder from the staff kitchen. One of the attendants directed me through town to the southern terminus of the Glacial Lakes State Trail. The other one informed me that he had never heard of or seen the biker campsite that the GLST website indicates. He was correct as nothing seems to be at that location.

It was definitely fun, but we also got a great workout! We pedaled over 5 miles on the trail, which was fairly level, but certainly did have some inclines and declines. When my wife asked him to describe the bike, he was silent! As she looked over the bike, she discovered a long gash on the frame that he said he was unaware of. When I asked if he would offer an additional discount, he said no, it's already discounted. Since the battery on this model was not removable and that the ebike must be stored at 50F+, we decided against it, and ended up buying a different model that we actually liked better.
