Cute burger joint with friendly staff…read more I ordered the Prince Harry is overrated and truffle Mac and cheese one of my friends ordered the juicy Boris falafel burger with seasoned fries and another friend but they're shrimp sandwich with seasoned fries The beef burger was so good I have no complaints I loved it hands down it was Fresh it was amazing the falafel burger was also good as well no complaints there the shrimp burger we were in a fan of the shrimp itself tasted good but the bread and the toppings that came with it didn't mix very well with The Truffle mac and cheese was a little too rich for me the cheese was very overpowering I was not able to finish the season fries will get us so overall they were ok but they weren't the best fries I would definitely go back for another burger which is what they're known for so if you do visit I would try a burger whether it's chicken or veggie try the burgers that's what they're good at

It looked like it was going to rain, but it did not after all, so we could have stayed outside, as the sun came out! We got a lovely table by the window. Nothing on the menu was above £6.50. There were choice of burgers, dogs or pulled pork in a bun. I ordered the "prince charles is overrated" burger. The patty beef burger were done the way I liked it, quite charred on the outside and medium inside, in a toasted hot bun. It was succulent and tasty served on top of shredded iceberg, pickles and dirty spread (that is what it says on the menu!) and topped with crispy bacon. It also comes with cheese but I asked for no cheese. The basket of fries was a very large side dish, enough for two people to share. We ordered the chilli cheese fries which was seasoned and topped with minced beef covered in cheese and green chilli. They had an interesting "mar-grrr-eat-her" slush cocktail, but unfortunately, they had ran out of the lemon and lime slush, so I tried the local ale instead. There was a constant queue at the door and the waitresses continued to be very cheerful. Lovely and very helpful service. The bill was settled at the counter.

Yes this is a chain, but it puts American chain burger restaurants to shame!…read more We went for a late lunch and there were maybe 2 or 3 other tables, it somewhat surprising as it is located in (what I think is) the downtown area of Southampton. We were greeted right away and we could sit anywhere. The dining area is large and is intended to reflect the American '50s era diners... I love the British take on Americana, it's so cute! In Milwaukee terms it was definitely "kitschy." The view of the castle wall remnants and new architecture was amazing! My husband and I ordered a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and chicken tenders to share. WOW! This was most definitely one of the best burgers I have ever eaten!! In England, the meat is locally sourced - and cows are happy. This is most definitely reflected in the quality of the food. Presentation was also perfect. Chicken tenders were also amazing, not greasy and amazing light breading. The house beer, "Byron Beer," was my husband's favorite of all 10 days we spent in England. It was light yet really flavorful! Even a non-beer drinker would like it. Our waitress was so sweet, it was fun talking to her. I wish I knew their burger recipe secret so I could replicate it at home - I really think it has to do with the fresh ingredients :) I would most definitely come here again and would try other locations as well. 5 stars!

It was so good I ordered another. Also ordered their classic burger with chips. First of all it is huge. 10 ounces of wonderfully seasoned and cooked beef. I wanted mine medium and it was perfectly done and very juicy. The classic comes with bacon, cheese, carmelised onions and their sauce. To say all of the flavors melded together into tasty goodness wouldn't do it justice. One of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Also one of the messiest but who cares when the burger is that good. Chips had a nice seasoning to them also. All around terrific meal. So glad I made the trek to the Rockstone. I highly recommend you do also.

An unusual pub experience. Table service for drinks, pay at the end. It was good but it really…read morethrew me. We went on a Monday. It was billed on their website as open mic night, this was half true. They were open, but there was no mic to be seen. This wasn't the reason for our visit so it made no difference to me but if you are going with your guitar in hand in the hope of being spotted by a talent scout then you could be disappointed. They seem to specialise in burgers, and the stream of them which kept coming out looked good, as well as big. The Volcano is billed as being their ultimate hot offering, a claim most places can't back up when it comes down to it. Not here though. I saw a guy obviously struggling with his burger and figured it must be a Volcano so I asked him if it was hot. He offered me a piece to try. This was a total stranger, and total strangers don't often share their food with you, this was an indication of what was to come. Anyway, being a sucker for free food as well as hot food I snatched his hand off. All I can say is the Volcano is not for the faint of heart. The poor guy who shared his with me couldn't finish his, and when they offered to box it up for him to take home he came up with some half arsed excuse as to why he didn't want them to. If you like hot food then go for it, if you are a pretender to the throne then give it a miss. Outside the pub is a small garden in the rear, it's semi covered and has a few cushioned benches to sit on. There is an outdoor pizza oven but it wasn't doing anything when we were there. Although the garden is small it was a nice space to be in, which you enter through the smallest door in the world. It's a nice pub, little bit quirky but that's what I liked about it.
