Delicious find. Brisbane has a bunch of these food laneways now this is located in the valley and is small but perfect. I highly recommend any of their milkshakes. Get it with the combos. Burger+Shake+ fries =22$ Had the strawberry jam and the salted caramel ones and they're both amazing very creamy. House made cherry cola is good reminds me of Dr Pepper. A bit too sweet after a few sips but unique. Not a lot of burger options but the ones they do they do well. One of the better burger joints in town for sure. Recommend their Brie burger it was limited time but hopefully they keep it on. Seating: choose between street seating or inside seating. Fries are perfect crunchy to flavor ratio. I recommend the regular fries the chili ones don't add that much more flavor for the price. They're mild flavors so don't expect McDonald's shake fries level. The plain ones are actually a very good balance in flavor. Price expect to pay 12$ per burger or 20-25$ combos. read more

Coming here hungry was the right move, because it gave us plenty of room to cram in one of their delicious burgers with a side of chilli cheese fries. Yes. I opted for the burger stuffed with jalapeños, because I never turn down heat if it's an option. I'd definitely order it again. The chilli fries weren't spicy, but they did have the traditional chilli type sauce with beans over it through which was tasty. I probably could have gone a side of jalapeños on them too to top it all off. Service is counter service, so nothing to sing about here. But you're here for the burgers and that's what matters. Finally a burger place with burgers that taste good - and actually fit into your mouth. I hate getting that sauce halo that seems to erupt from most "American style burgers" - you know the one. I've eaten here a few times now and both beef burgers are delicious and juicy. Although the menu is quite small, the food definitely packs a punch in taste! They're great classic cheeseburgers with the option of adding extras, like candied bacon. I always order the homemade ginger ale - such gingery goodness! This place is so super simple. There are literally three burgers on the menu. No herbed mayos. No brioche. No pork and kimchi patties. Just a beef burger on a white bun. But it is oh so delicious. Wow! What an amazing burger, Bens Burgers straight represents! Reminds me of a joint in Venice Beach CA, simple, but retardedly delicious. Granted I've only had the BB classic, but based on that burger alone, I'm hooked! Soft bun, right sized (specially for us small mouthed cats), the meat pattie is epic, ground from good beef and seasoned expertly, melting cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, w' mustard, ketchup and mayo. Had the classic burger and a regular fries. Burger looks really good, the first 3 bites and I thought it was the best burger I ever had till I reach the middle part. Ben's Burgers are REALLY the best burgers in Brisbane. The menu is short but sweet, and I don't really know why you would order any burger ever (from anywhere) apart from the BB classic, because to me this is burger perfection. The patty is thick (not a thin dribbly patty that you may get from competitors), seasoned very well with visible bits of peppercorn, cooked with juicy perfection, and adorned with melty american cheese. The bun is epically soft, and everything else on the burger is just an added bonus. If you are going to get two things right, patty and bun are the things you need. I visited Melbourne last week, and ate at the famed Huxtaburger, and whilst that was a brilliant burger, I couldn't help but think of the BB classic whilst I ate it (it felt like I was cheating on my burger). Oh, and if you are parched in the warm weather, the housemade sodas are the bomb. I have heard reports Bens do not do any alterations, so people, either get onboard the pickles train, or just pick them off and give them to someone who appreciates them. read more

The American themed food continues in Brisbane. I for one am not complaining. I did I quick stop by this latest burger joint to open in the valley. It has quite the competition with it's near by Canadian Competition (Bread & Meat Co), but it does have one huge thing up its sleeve... Simplicity. Just by looking at the menu you can tell they are focused on the essentials and not the fancy extras (not saying fancy extras are bad, just it's good to make a perfect dish). Another thing I love is the hours they are open, and they even have a breakfast menu. The location is also very unique, you have a spacious eating area outside with enough seats inside. Although I did come at 4pm, and I was the only customer ;) Ok enough background on to the scoring :) Food: I ordered a BB Classic. The fresh cooked burger is a great touch and well worth the additional wait. The amount of condiments was for once, actually great. There was so much flavor in each bite, and actually more than a single pickle. Slight nit-pick.. the meat was dripping with oil. Fresh, yes.. but really messy and kind of creepy. Simply excellent burger none-the-less. Service: Ok, so there has to be one downside to my experience. When I first arrived.. There was no one near the counter and I was starred at by three people (workers) at a table inside. I slowly walked to the counter and then the one guy got up and came over to take my order. There wasn't much friendly, 'how are you' or 'hey, how's your day'. Just a cold, 'did you want tea or coffee' response.. I thought I missed out on a burger. But it got better as soon as the owner came back, brought happiness to the shop and he brought me my burger and greeted me politely, even received a 'thank you, enjoy your day' with a thumbs up when I left. So all and all it balanced. But there were just so many workers there, must get really busy. Will I be back: Most definitely. I am curious to try their other burgers and milkshakes. :) All in all.. great burgers, nice location, and great addition to the many American foods of Brisbane. read more

Ben's Burgers is a must visit for burger lovers and non burger lovers alike. Personally I am not much of a burger person but if I wanted one it would have to be from here. The menu is small and they do not make alterations however there is no need, the burgers look great and taste great. What makes them extra special is the thick delicious patty which is bursting with flavour. Great chips as well. I have not tried the breakfast menu but it is on my to do list. An added bonus is it is located in the cute little Winn lane surround by lovely little stores to visit after your meal! read more

Stopped in one of the newest burger joints in the city on a Saturday night around 6pm. With the place in the valley there is very little parking in the area. So I thought I would try and phone in my order so I could quickly just run in and grab it, but they don't offer that service. There was a small queue when I made my order, but the place was packed on the inside. So my takeaway order took around 15-20min, which was better than expected. Keep in mind they do not offer any substitutions or removal of items, however they allow additions an added cost, this is very strange for a burger restaurant. While waiting for the burger in fries I got to see their kitchen in action. I will say they are very efficient and quick, however I am quite disappointed in they way they cook their burgers and make their fries. The fries appear of the frozen variety and then deep fried. The burgers are cooked in this large "oven", not sure what you would call it. This causes the burgers to be on the brink off well done. Which means the burger was not very juicy at all. I will say though the patty itself had a very good blend of spices. I really had better expectations for this place with the new explosion of burger places popping up, but there was much left be desired and that could be improved upon. read more

They have a no substation rule at Ben's and at first this really annoyed me but they have a sign explaining that they have this rule as they want you to experience the burgers as intended. I really respect this and have to say the Special with an extra patty was seriously good! Patty was nice and juicy. The chili cheese fries are a little small but pretty tasty. I was so hungry I didn't have time to take photos. But let me tell you it's worth coming here. We ordered the BB classic burger with chips and special sauce and a house made cherry coke and pecan pie. Absolutely delicious all round. The burger tasted very strongly of mustard tho so if you're aren't a huge fan maybe try one of the other delicious sounding burgers. The pecan pie was a little dry so maybe go with the ice cream suggestion. Staff were really friendly and happy. Bit of a wait cos it's so busy but worth it. It's the new and improved yet very classic cheeseburger with a few extras but not over the top that impresses me every time. Yum, yum, yum. The burgers actually come out looking like the picture, and I love that you can park on the street, run in, order and be out in less than 10 mins. This means PJs, Netflix and a Bens Burger. Excellent burgers! This place still has lots of room for growth as a business. Philly cheese steaks and cheesy garlic fries would be a suggestion, this goes off in the states... Limited beverage menu, would be good if they adopted the American refill concept with a soda machine available to it's diners. I have to say, this was the first burger I've had in Aus that actually reminded me of home. I went with the classic but might have to go back and try their other burger with the jalapeños and special sauce. But they also have a breakfast burger - who could say no to that?! The classic is just that - very simple, but it's a pretty decently sized burger and I think they've got really reasonable prices as well. I liked the way they cooked their fries too, but mine were completely dowsed in salt. Don't get me wrong, I like my salt...but dang! Overload. BUT - they do also have Heinz ketsup, a rarity to see out and about :P Also, the staff could be a bit more friendly. I walked in and there were two people at the counter who both looked up cuz they noticed I walked in but no "hi" or anything of the sort. Ben's Burgers have, by far, the best burger in Brisbane. Since the first bite I knew it was the best burger I'd had, and every time I go back just reinforces it. With a minimal but effective fit-out and an easily accessible but quiet location, Ben's has quickly become one of the most iconic places in The Valley. I usually find brioche buns a tad over the top but the BB classic is such a balanced burger; you can choose to add bacon to it but it's too good on it's own to alter. The tap beers are always cold and the shakes are great if you feel like getting too full to move. The chips are always solid and crispy too. The other great thing about Ben's is that it's location is great for a spot of light shopping afterwards, with Tym's, A Love Supreme, and The Outpost right next door. I'll definitely keep coming back. Probably next time I'm hungover. read more

We ventured to Ben's Burgers on Friday night...needless to say, for those on the hunt for a simple beef burger - Ben's is your place. As someone who consumes burgers on a regular basis (perhaps too regularly to be honest) I can readily say that Ben's Burgers delivers, quite possibly selling the best burger in Brisbane. Too many places try to over-fancify their meals when really they should just stay the course of simplicity. I opted for the $20 deal - beer, burger (BB Special) and chips. The pattie was cooked to perfection and super juicy, the brioche bun slightly sweet but not overpowering - it worked really well with the cheese and pattie, and the condiments appropriate and ample (without being too much). The chips were delicious as well (delicious enough that I left the venue with them so that they didn't go to waste). Good tunes and pleasant staff to boot. Really dug this place and will definitely be back for more. As others have said though - no substitutions. read more
