A GROUP OF COMPLETE IMBECILES! Almost a week prior, I made an 11 o'clock appointment with these morons for an oil change. I get there the day of the appointment and the place is packed. I asked if they were honoring my appointment or placing me behind the others already there. They assured me that my oil change wouldn't take more than an hour. I told them, "Good because I have another appointment." One hour and 45 minutes later, the guy calls me back and apologizes, citing "I'm sorry. We couldn't get to it." ALL THAT TIME WASTED AND THOSE IDIOTS HADN'T EVEN STARTED ON MY CAR - AND THAT'S WITH AN APPOINTMENT! Benson Nissan needs to get their $hit together or hire more mechanics. This is a review for Benson Kia and Benson Nissan. Went to trade my car that I purchased from Kia in 2017 as a repeat customer. Long story short what has happened over the past 4 years??? Alex was my salesman let's just say I have never been pressured and strong armed the way he did. He had me test driving and purchasing a car before I even knew the price. He lied to me several times, he had me believing I had bought the car and took it upon himself to call my insurance company and take my car all the way off and replace it with the one I had not purchased yet. I just thought he was checking the price for me. I hadn't even been to finance yet and he had fed me so much garbage so insanely fast I was totally overwhelmed. After I got scared to death I got my family on the phone and he was rude and nasty to them. I finally got out of there by saying I needed to think about it and I couldn't even leave in my car because it wasn't insured anymore. I am at a loss for words I can't explain it at all. Then I go the next day and take support to get my car back and they treated him like crap and it was the worst experience I have ever had. This will be why car vendors online will take out dealers because of salesman like this. I turned around and got a way better deal somewhere else on a way nicer car. Customer service is severely lacking in the service department. I called before going to get a tire fixed because I didn't buy it there they did not want to deal with me or the warranty I bought with Nissan. When I got the paperwork for my warranty, I went into the service department at 9:45am and gave it to the guy at the service desk that I spoke with in the phone. Before he looked at any of it he proceeded to ask me again if I bought the Pathfinder from them and I told him no. He got the information off the paperwork for the vehicle. Charles would not even leave his desk to get the mileage for the car, my husband had to go get it for him. We then told him we would be back at the end of the day to pick up the tire and rim. We got a call at 3pm telling us they still had not fixed the tire because they couldn't figure out the warranty and they needed the paperwork. The guy on the phone then told my husband I refused to let them get a copy of the paperwork, he was with me the entire time and knew it was a lie. I have had several Nissan vehicles and been into several of the service departments of different dealership for Nissan as well as Honda, GMC, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, and Jeep and have never in my life been treated the way I was today. I will never go back to Benson Nissan in Spartanburg, SC. They do not care about their customers or potential customers. This is my 3 Nissan, 2nd brand new one, one from Greer Nissan and one from Crown Nissan in Greenville. I will continue to buy Nissan but will go out of Spartanburg to Greenville to get it even though I am 10 minutes maximum from this location! read more

This photo was taken with such joy because it was a huge relief that they were willing to work with us with the trade in we had brought to them from the Nissan Benson dealership that we purchased just before Christmas. Nissan sold us a 2014 Cadillac SRX that evidently we discovered that evening had no headlights. Yes you read that right, NO HEADLIGHTS. Seems strange doesn't it? Now is where we get to the good part, the headlights were the least of our worries. About a week and half after purchasing the Cadillac the check engine light decided to appear. What was wrong you ask? Oh just catalytic converter. So when we call the dealership about 8-10 times & leave several messages we finally get some answers. Their response was that they would split the cost of the labor and parts ($2500). I asked about the warranty, because while purchasing this vehicle we asked for a warranty. The sales associate Lin Johnson said I quote "Don't worry mam we will get to that later" we'll little did we know he meant that instead the finance department would have us signing a document saying that we declined a warranty??? We went back and forth with this dealership and they basically told us we have the documentation. Documentation that we were deceived with. They finally offered to give us $10,000 for a car they sold to us for $14,000 or pay for half the labor and parts. When I took the Cadillac to autozone to purchase headlights, because there weren't any the man at autozone said the car already needs an oil change & the air filter was BLACK. 2 weeks after buying this car these things already needed to be replaced. So we found ourselves at Gilstraps, after explaining our situation & all the details when buying the first car. Gene & the finance manager at Gilstrap had to break the news to us that the Benson dealership robbed us of $6,000. We also then discovered while switching the plates over that Nissan Benson had left the old plates from my Volkswagen Jetta on my Cadillac, the plates I have been driving over two weeks with we're registered to my Jetta!!!! That is a big ticket and possible jail time we could have suffered for their mistake! This place is a joke and nothing more than con artists working there! My advice to you, go see Gene Ahlers, or anyone at the Gilstrap Dealership. You won't be disappointed! As far as Benson goes, I look forward to the day I see the doors shut. My husband and I purchased a car a few weeks ago and although I am quite indecisive Mr. James Martin was by our side along the way. He has worked hard to make sure the car that we purchased is to our liking, and often times will answer any questions we may have about the car before or purchase of the vehicle. I am not good with pushy salesman and don't normally talk to them when on a car lot. Mr. Martin did not make me feel like I was wasting his time, or that I did not have the money to purchase a car like some other dealerships or salesman have done in the pasted. The service department is not managed well. I have made appointments on several occasions and have to sit and wait on everyone who just walked in. I would think that if you make an appointment, your car should start getting serviced at that time. My last appointment was to get a battery changed. I called and asked what the cost would be and was quoted a price. They left out the part where they charge $61 in labor. I take partial ownership of that. I should have specifically asked that question. I'm sure they are not going to volunteer that because no one would pay that much when most everyone else installs them for free. I will not go back to Spartanburg Nissan for future service. To end on a postive note, I do love my car and have had no issues with the vehicle or purchase. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! I would not purchase anything from this dealership. The only reason they are getting one star is because there is not an option for negative stars. I purchased a used Chev. Tahoe from this dealership for $35,000. Within a few weeks the air was no longer working. I took the car to a mechanic (family owned), they told me not only was the compressor damaged in the car but the car had also been wrecked. When I purchased the car they showed me the "Clean Carfax". I called the dealership and notified them of the problem and took the car back. They said they would fix the air for me. I took the car to them and they said my mechanic was mistaken that was not what was wrong with the car it was only a broken seal (which they "fixed"). It took only a few months for the air to stop working again. I have taken it back to my mechanic and they said "Yes, it is the compressor and the dealership did not fix the problem". I have since contacted the dealership again and they will not return my phone calls. read more
