I notified the Grounds Guys, as did my neighbor. They did nothing about it that day. It continued to rain. The following day, they removed most of the large pile. However, it was too late. The rain washed the dirt into the low area of the yard which had been graded to allow rain to drain through the yard and to the street. Now when it rains, water just pools in our yard. We contacted the Grounds Guys again. John looked at our yard and wanted to give us an estimate- to fix the damage THEY created!!!!! Very unprofessional. I would NOT recommend them. They need to fix the problems they cause. We did not contact them immediately because my husband was in the hospital. By the time we contacted them a couple months later, the swell in our yard was filled and covered with grass causing the water to pool. When John came over to talk to my husband, he dismissed our concerns and did not listen. The water pooling was EXACTLY where the dirt washed down. I had even tried to rake out some of the extra dirt on my own and was able to remove a couple bucketfuls!!! This helped, but there remains a lot of additional dirt. I spoke to another contractor who stated it would be very easy to fix so I really don't understand why The Ground Guys are denying that they caused this and refusing to make it right. WE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM UNTIL THE NEIGHBORS DIRT WASHED INTO OUR YARD!!!!

DID YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR FROM YOUR LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR?…read moreWe are writing a review of COCHRAN LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT of Easley, SC after waiting nine months for corrections, replacements and reimbursements that have not been made. The cost of all corrections and purchases of new material has been managed and paid for by us, the homeowner/customer. TODD COCHRAN promised (and we paid the highest quoted price for) superior experience, material and workmanship. It has been our experience, and it is our opinion, we didn't get that. The project included: Irrigation, grading, soil amendment, drainage, paver patio, all new turf plus all front and back landscaping. Irrigation System: Was not designed and installed to properly water the turf and plantings, and some irrigation materials are of poor quality. Grading: Not done properly in the front yard resulting in highs and lows. Soil amendment: Consisted of an extremely sheer layer of what may have been topsoil. No soil amendment (compost or conditioning) was added to holes dug for the trees and shrubs. Drainage: Done well except for the inferior drain popups that clog too easily and are almost impossible to clean. Patio: Installed well. Turf: Some haphazard installation techniques that left some bare spots. Promised replacements of some dead turf never came. Landscaping: Todd Cochran assured us all plantings would come from his premium growers. If he has premium growers, he didn't use them for our project. We witnessed mishandling of expensive trees. We witnessed most every tree and shrub being planted too low. We witnessed the planting of some shrubs in poor health. Some shrubs and expensive trees failed to thrive. Todd Cochran promised replacements. He changed his mind and accused us of killing the trees. Some plants arrived mislabeled, were invasive and not changed out. We finally made and paid for all tree/shrub/plant replacements. House damage: Todd Cochran promised to repair damage to our home. He changed his mind, said we should make the repairs, and he would reimburse. He changed his mind again and accused us of damaging our home. We made the repair, and we paid. Customer Service: Before our project began, Todd Cochran advised us to hire a tree/shrub/turf professional for ongoing health and maintenance. We did just that. That professional came to our home, we walked the project and asked for their professional licensed opinion of irrigation design and installation plus tree/shrub health and installation. We presented our concerns to Todd Cochran, requested replacements and amendments, and he responded in anger. That and every other communication with Todd Cochran was unproductive. In our experience and opinion, the poorest of customer service. Our Overall Experience: We did not receive the superior materials and workmanship promised by Todd Cochran. He maintains all material and installation problems/failures are the customer's fault. Promises and assurances were not kept. For the premium price we paid for the entire project, it is our experience and opinion we did not get what we paid for and can NEVER RECOMMEND COCHRAN LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT.
