We used Cochran Landscape Management for our entire yard and we are totally satisfied with the service. I highly recommend Cochran!!!

DID YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR FROM YOUR LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR? We are writing a review of COCHRAN LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT of Easley, SC after waiting nine months for corrections, replacements and reimbursements that have not been made. The cost of all corrections and purchases of new material has been managed and paid for by us, the homeowner/customer. TODD COCHRAN promised (and we paid the highest quoted price for) superior experience, material and workmanship. It has been our experience, and it is our opinion, we didn't get that. The project included: Irrigation, grading, soil amendment, drainage, paver patio, all new turf plus all front and back landscaping. Irrigation System: Was not designed and installed to properly water the turf and plantings, and some irrigation materials are of poor quality. Grading: Not done properly in the front yard resulting in highs and lows. Soil amendment: Consisted of an extremely sheer layer of what may have been topsoil. No soil amendment (compost or conditioning) was added to holes dug for the trees and shrubs. Drainage: Done well except for the inferior drain popups that clog too easily and are almost impossible to clean. Patio: Installed well. Turf: Some haphazard installation techniques that left some bare spots. Promised replacements of some dead turf never came. Landscaping: Todd Cochran assured us all plantings would come from his premium growers. If he has premium growers, he didn't use them for our project. We witnessed mishandling of expensive trees. We witnessed most every tree and shrub being planted too low. We witnessed the planting of some shrubs in poor health. Some shrubs and expensive trees failed to thrive. Todd Cochran promised replacements. He changed his mind and accused us of killing the trees. Some plants arrived mislabeled, were invasive and not changed out. We finally made and paid for all tree/shrub/plant replacements. House damage: Todd Cochran promised to repair damage to our home. He changed his mind, said we should make the repairs, and he would reimburse. He changed his mind again and accused us of damaging our home. We made the repair, and we paid. Customer Service: Before our project began, Todd Cochran advised us to hire a tree/shrub/turf professional for ongoing health and maintenance. We did just that. That professional came to our home, we walked the project and asked for their professional licensed opinion of irrigation design and installation plus tree/shrub health and installation. We presented our concerns to Todd Cochran, requested replacements and amendments, and he responded in anger. That and every other communication with Todd Cochran was unproductive. In our experience and opinion, the poorest of customer service. Our Overall Experience: We did not receive the superior materials and workmanship promised by Todd Cochran. He maintains all material and installation problems/failures are the customer's fault. Promises and assurances were not kept. For the premium price we paid for the entire project, it is our experience and opinion we did not get what we paid for and can NEVER RECOMMEND COCHRAN LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT. read more

We had Cochrane do hardscape and landscape in the backyard and front yard. They fixed a serious drainage problem in the front yard. They installed flagstone sidewalks, flower beds in front and back and a hedge at the back of the lot. All of it is beautiful and our drainage problems are gone. Plus their bid was noticeably less than a competitor's bid. read more

They installed sod for me in 2022 and were great. I actually wrote them a nice review however when this spring came and the grass was not coming back in, that changed. I reached out to 3-4 different people. one was terribly rude. After about three months now, I give up. they obviously are not the kind of company that cares about customers after the sale and they have been paid. They all talked a good talk, but their actions were terrible. There is more to it than the initial job. A good company has service after the sale if there is a legitimate problem. This company does not understand that. read more

Hired Cochran to install landscape lighting. for $6600. Mike Parker said he would send the crew about noon so that they would be finished about dusk and could make any adjustments. Crew arrived about 9am and were finished by noon. Conduit that they installed was about a foot long. The rest was wires in the dirt. I was told the transformer we contracted for was on back order so they put in a smaller one. Said the new one would be in in two weeks. Never came back to adjust, never replaced transformer. The small one burned out within a couple of months. I made nunerous phone calls but never once got a response. these people are crooks. Save your money. Wish I had! read more

I got an estimate for grass seeding my front yard. When they sent me the estimate, I couldn't believe the price! It was so expensive!! I had to get a second estimate just make sure I wasn't crazy. As it turned out, I'm not. Another company came over and quoted me for less than half of what Cochran said. No brainer on this one read more

Stay away from these people. We were preparing our home for sale and called Cochran to add some curb appeal and repair the irrigation system. Todd gave us a price that was a little shocking, but we decided to go ahead to improve the all-important lot appeal. Cochran not only did not do what we expected, they cut corners to the point that we had to spend hours trying to upgrade what they left behind. Todd does not return calls, so it appears we will have to pay a second time for the irrigation repair. We will never us this company for anything again read more

We hired and paid Cochran do do a large (many thousands of dollars) landscaping project in September of 2021. they didn't start the job for a varieTy of reasons until spring 2022. They first blamed the delay on our HOA turns out they sent the plans to the wrong HOA. When they did finally show up their trucks tore up our front yard (the work was in the back). Cochran claimed they weren't responsible for the damage because they contracted out that work. Eventually someone filled in the ruts but it still looked terrible. They ordered way more sod than we needed, which we paid for even though they used the extra on another job. BUT the worst part was half of the sod they did install was dead. They never came back and rolled the sod. It took months for them to come back to remove the concrete forms from the patio work that they did. The dead sod never greened up or attached to the dirt below. Trying to get them to come out and check their work was near impossible. When a rep finally did come out he used the most obscene and abusive language. They refuse to take my calls. I resorted to going to a home and garden show to talk to them. They refused to speak to me there. Terrible company and half my yard is still dead. read more

Lee came out, gave an estimate, and stated that since it would be a half-day job, he would fit it in with several others within 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. After the two weeks, we called and asked when it would be. He said that he would get the next week. Since we were listing our house for sale, he showed up the next day. All the work was completed satisfactorily by mid-afternoon. Lee's crew stated that we needed to water twice per day for at least 20 minutes each time for two weeks. At the end of two weeks, the newly planted trees were dying from too much water. Not only the two trees that Lee's crew planted but two other trees also. Lee was called. He came out, looked at the trees, and said that they were not dead, he could not replace stressed trees unless they were dead, and left. They are still dropping leaves, the house is listed for sale, and showings are seeing almost dead trees in the back yard. read more

I originally gave this company an excellent review- my project was complete in June 2021 and I was initially satisfied. Fast forward a few months, 2 out of 30 plants I purchased had died. I was told their plant warranty was 1 year. I emailed them in November 2021 about having the plants replaced. You can read the emails for yourself. After much back and forth, it took them longer than their actual warranty to tell me they wouldn't be replacing the plants (February 24 they gave me an answer). I spent thousands of dollars with this company and I'm truly disappointed- they don't stand behind their work and I would never reuse them or recommend them to anyone. Bottom of the barrel customer service. They had a few negative reviews when I chose to use them- I even joked about it with one of the employees- he laughed it off and said it was their "competition." So, I'll be adding actual screenshots of my emails with this company- just so there's no confusion (not sure if I can add on YELP- but it is on google review). Do not use Cochran Landscape. There is no mention of the plant warranty in their contract- get it written in. read more

Another example of a contractor that does not follow through. If you get someone to return your call and if an appointment is scheduled, it might take a couple of tries before someone actually shows up. In my case, an appointment was scheduled then they had to reschedule. The rescheduled appointment for irrigation repair was a no show. Calls to the office were not returned. Meanwhile, I needed a quote for a lot of other work. The salesman showed up. He became my contact for the irrigation repair and got someone to show up. But, after 30 minutes, he needed his supervisor to look at the problem. He left and did not return. Call to him and the office were not returned. Obviously they don't need my money. Maybe if your project is big (read $$$$) enough, you might get and keep their attention. read more

The team that works the lawn is top notch! But the office staff is non-existent. They never answer the phone and only return a phone call after several repeated calls. Poor customer relations. read more

The people are nice generally. They seem to know their plants. But their management style and responsiveness are​ horrible. I spent thousands of dollars upgrading our landscaping. Cochran did irrigation, seeding, sod, trees, bushes, flowers. The irrigation system one year later needs to be repaired. They did replace dead plants this spring after numerous calls and weeks of delay. I agree​d to a very expensive maintenance program; service was sporadic and not as agreed. Contacting them is very difficult. Calls are not returned. They regularly blow off appointments without cause or notice. They agreed to winterize the irrigation system; despite numerous requests nothing was done and the system sustained damages costing several hundred dollars to repair. Lack of management talent is not exclusive to Cochran; it plagues the yard care industry in this area. But it would be nice to find someone who actually keeps their contractual commitments. Unfortunately, Cochran is not among those. I fired them. read more
