When selling my home, I arrived to find my front door totally unlocked and my home unsecured. No apology was given and no effort was made to find out which agent left my home in this manner. I was told, "That happens sometimes." My agent (Jon Ombres) accidentally forwarded me inappropriate and unprofessional emails from their in-house title agent. At closing they tried to get me to pay for the buyer's utility deposit by including bogus charges. I had to call the utility company in front of the title agent in order for her to remove the charges. It was also obvious she didn't like waiting for me to read the closing documents. I used this brokerage to rent a house, purchase two houses and sell another. Each transaction had bizarre mishaps that were explained away as freak occurrences but the common denominator was the inadequate agent. I have never encountered any of these issues in previous real estate transactions with other brokers. Unfortunately, by the time I realized this, I was in a contract until October. Good agents don't need to tie you down for six months. Every concern I had in this process was met with an explanation on why I was wrong. I was lied to on countless occasions and never once was I apologized to (even when I found my listed home unlocked!). Just like every negative review on here, they are unable to apologize and immediately place blame on their CUSTOMER. read more

Assurance are given before signing lease that are not kept, existing repairs are not made before move in, documentation of incomplete repairs provided on move in, decline to make needed repairs and on move out charge tenant for incomplete cleaning services and repairs. Renters beware!! Do not use this company. I booked a 10 day vacation for me and my extended family through this company. I paid the account in full which was $13,000. Come to find out the owners of the home have the ability to cancel a paid in full reservations with no regard. I am from New York, so of course we have our flights booked and everything planned. How this is legal I have no idea. Instead of a phone call from this company I get an informal email stating my reservations are no longer valid. How am I supposed to find a house that fits 8-12 people that is available in only 60 days. This company should be ashamed to do this to someone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

Do not buy from this agency or agent Selma Collier who advertises herself as honest and trustworthy with extensive experience in Saint Johns. I believed her and her listing. I am from NJ and when I bought my dream home 1.53 acres creek front property and "woods my children could play in" I did not know I bought wetlands that floods my entire back yard. She never told me about an Easement & wetlands that takes up 88% of my property. There is no woods & no access to the creek. I have standing water 24/7. Selma lives on the same street & has wetlands in her rear yard- she will say anything to close the sale & make her commission. Beware! read more

You don't ever want to rent from this management group. Firstly, the property manager is an unapologetic ass, who tried to not rent to me because I asked for their heavy-handed lease language to be reasonably adjusted. I had to Google and locate the owner to get the property. Then when I moved out, they tried to charge me for ridiculous items, like the mailbox was loose, which is exactly as it was when I moved in, they didn't check the property for a week after I moved out and they charged me for the grass to be mowed, there are no bushes but charged me for trimming, and even though I cleaned everything they listed things that are normal wear and tear like the tub grout needed replacing and I left it clean or the a/c filter was dirty so the air ducts all need cleaning. And to beat it all, I left brand new landscaping, plants, mulch and tiling along the driveway which was $1,000 in property upgrades where weeds stood before. You should always hire a tenant law attorney if you are going to deal with this company. Better yet, DON'T. I've never seen a more unethical, unprofessional, and hateful group in all my years of renting. read more

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. They are unprofessional, incompetent and totally out for themselves. They make decisions about your property as if they were the owner, like offering a 9 month rental on a unit that's only available for 6 months. They don't respond to phone calls, they hold on to owner's funds and spend the reserve like it's their own checkbook. Tenant left dirty pots and pans, unmade beds, burned out light bulbs, and took many of the things that were part of the unit (trash cans, toilet brushes, etc) and I had to pay for all of this because they were afraid to charge the tenant's security deposit. You will be miserable if you work with anyone at Berkshire Hathaway. Avoid them at all cost!!!! read more

I believe Ms. Leedy led me on for about 2 months with a buyer that could only get a mortgage contingent on selling their home, but this was not disclosed. There are signs pointing to her knowledge of this, especially the way the offer was drawn up in hindsight, as she specifically made a contingency on buyers getting mortgage approval just on this property and furnished a pre-approval letter stating nothing of any other requirements. This is very ethically suspect. As someone who has ReMax hall-of-fame realtors in the family, I can tell you that this is not the way to do business. Watch out for this poor service. Only cancelled the contract when I demanded some deposit be non-refundable after she asked for extension #3, just stringing me along. We recently had the pleasure of working with one Karen Roth at a property in Clearwater Florida and while at the only listing she has that hasn't sold in nearly 90 days her drunk husband starting yelling acting very bad and we had to leave as we were worried for our safety. We had to threaten them both to report there actions with the state of Florida realtor board to get our payment for services rendered. I personally have a MBA and was a mortgage broker working in 48 states with agents all over the U. S. and have never come into contact with anyone in real state acting like they did. It's was a really bad day for us to have to experience the way Karen and Her husband were acting. This notice goes out to the local community we just received a text message from this crazy lady 3 months after the fact.She is now stalking us complaining about our service because they are now losing money on an investment property in Clearwater beach that hasn't sold and this is some how our issue. If the harassment doesn't stop we will contact our attorney and take action. I do business in 4 states and have legal counsel on staff. read more

The entire process of listing and selling our townhouse in Gainesville, FL, went as well as it could have. The sale phase went quickly and we had several offices shortly after the property was listed (a few weeks). Our agent Andrea Martin did a great job with ensuring that we understood the offers so we could select the best overall offer. We were able to select the offer and sign a contract without having to travel to Florida. With great support from Ms. Martin we were also able have minor repairs to the property completed quickly (again without having to travel to FL) after the home inspection was completed. Ms. Martin and Florida Title & Guarantee Agency (Jennifer Booth, closing agent) did a great job getting us ready for a remote closing that was actually completed a week early based on the desires of both the buyer and the seller. Rented from them for 39 months and left the home clean and in great condition even had the carpets professional cleaned. Called and asked them to do a walk through with us so if there was any problems we would like to correct them, all though we could find none. They refused to do a walk through....then withheld our deposit for several months claiming ridiculous claims against us.
