Without much help or feedback from the owner of the home, Daniel bought a new Internet router and came to the house on his day off, to call Comcast and work with their customer support to set up the Internet. She showed us houses from my list and did not add any houses of her own except a new construction that we instantly fell in love with. We have now signed a contract and come to find out that she is "best friends" with the Broker, April Pruesi. April is the wife of the builder (Russ from RPJ Builder LLC) of the house we purchased. This was not an issue until it became abundantly clear Sam could not professionally handle this conflict of interest. She has not advocated for us at all, and has been extremely hard to get a hold of or get any answers out of. We often go days without hearing back from her, and often have to ask a second time to get any type of answer. She promised us we could pick mundane things like the color of our house, she claimed the fridge could be included and even said we could get hard wood upstairs for the same price. As time went on she did not deliver any of those promises. She is now demanding another thousand dollars for our driveway, despite the fact we are locked in for a contracted price, and three months behind schedule now. We have had to pay three extra months rent because of Russ's inability to stay on schedule so it is alarming to ask us for more money, we feel we should be getting price breaks due to the extended deadline. She is overall unprofessional and snarky. Please follow up with me. April then threatened to rip the already laid driveway up instead and then tried to force me in to breaking the contract for the house.  April is now refusing to answer any of my or my lawyers calls.

Byrne Agency as they've proven again that they don't just "sell" insurance, but truly value and develop relationships with their clients. I've used the J. Byrne agency for about 5 years now and have always been impressed with their commercial expert Jim Ridgeway and his incredible knowledge and passion for helping clients. This past week is a prime example why I advocate for the J. Byrne agency. I had an incident settling a property claim from wind and storm damage. There was an exclusion buried 60 pages into the policy that the underwriting company, NOT my agent, slipped in on one of the renewals. This would have cost me $12,000+ with most other agencies as I signed the paperwork and they could have simply stated "that's the way it is". Not with J. Byrne! Jim and his assistant Eileen Baker agreed that this was unfair and unclear and the FOUGHT the underwriting company for me. They kept me informed along the way and demonstrated their company's commitment to excellence in customer service by successfully having the clause removed and saving me, the consumer, an additional $12,000 in deductibles that could have been imposed. I spoke with another agent about the incident and he informed me that I had about 0% chance of successfully addressing this issue. Well the J. Byrne Agency proved them wrong... I was told that State Farm doesn't insure coastal properties, but I had the most wonderful and informative conversation with one of their agents (Terri or Bonnie?). Even though I wasn't insured with SF, she told me where to find potential information in my current policy that could save me money, and what specific terms to look for / ask for when calling for quotes. She even called me back after we spoke the first time to bring up more information that might be relevant to my search. I wish SF insured O.C. houses, as I would love to be able to have this friendly, knowledgable staff to support me.
