This is just your average train/bus station with services to New York, Boston, Philadelphia, etc…read more.. There's a parking lot, across the street, I have never utilized it, since I typically get dropped off, or occasionally pick up a passenger. This station is small, with some seating available, there's a Subway for food, a convenience store also selling coffee, pizza and bagels. No reliable place to get a coffee, like Starbucks or Dunkin. There's some outlets, but none that are usb supportive, I only brought the cord with me. There appeared to be plenty of ATMs. Unfortunately, due to mechanical difficulties, I couldn't take this pre planned and pre payed trip today. This is not the fault of the Union Station, but the bus company Grayhound. This is a very basic bus station in Hartford. It would be nice if people could use trash cans to dispose of their litter, making the Union Station a tiny bit more pleasant for fellow passengers.

They also have the Amtrak trains in this same station. Although I feel safe, the area is definitely sketchy. There are ticket counters for this who hasn't bought their tickets beforehand. And there is also a small eatery that has coffee and breakfast sandwiches to purchase.

My friend found My Taxi LLC and we made arrangements with them to meet us at the station. Everyone at My Taxi was extremely nice. They were accommodating, prompt and very helpful. Their cars are clean, super comfortable and well maintained. While on the train, my cell connection dropped as we were confirming pickup time. My Taxi immediately called me back, before I was able to reach them! All in all, it was a wonderful experience. I am grateful to My Taxi for making the last part of our trip so pleasant. I won't hesitate to call them again when I travel to New Haven, Meriden or the surrounding area.

This is the Mystic Amtrak station. It should be noted that this station is not staffed by Amtrak,…read moreit is run by volunteers from the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce. They are very friendly and willing to help you, and can offer some help with trains. There is a Quik Trak Kiosk here where you can print tickets, but it is indoors, so if the station is closed you can not print tickets. There is a free hotline to call Amtrak Directly (also inside). The number for Amtrak is 1-800-USA-RAIL. Track 1 (typically south bound, station side) has a nice covered area where you can wait for the train. Track 2, across the tracks from the station, has a shelter. The hours are 10 Am to 4 PM. There is free parking. I would ask the volunteers, but it may also be ok to leave your car there overnight if you are spending the night in Boston or such.
