I had an Free Night Certificate (FNC) I used for the last night. The hubs and I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve so took advantage of the edit credit. The first two nights would have been $997.39, but we used our $250 CC credit, paid a few bucks in cash, and used points for the rest. Thru Chase we booked a Deluxe Guest room, 1 King. I had reached out prior to ask if we could stay in the same room the entire time. Luckily they were able to upgrade to the category I booked with my FNC. Thru Chase, we also got a $100 on property credit, free breakfast, and a welcome amenity. The welcome gift ended up being a couple bottles of water and some chocolates. The Ritz reached out prior to with a questionnaire regarding our stay so they can customize anything you might need. I also let them know we were in Berlin celebrating an anniversary. They were super sweet and sent us a cake. The room itself was great. Bed comfy and a great size. Had a spacious sitting area, large bathroom. Nice view of the plaza. It really isn't much to look at, but I appreciate any kind of view. Before we got our room, we went down to the spa to freshen up. We actually took the airport express FEX to get here. It was unusually hot during that time, so it was nice to clean up a bit. The free breakfast at POTS is something you should not skip. I highly recommend checking it out at least once. We did hit it up Sunday morning. You can order off their a la carte menu and hit up the buffet. I believe everything is included except alcoholic beverages. We also went to the Curtain Club twice while staying here. Service wise, I felt like this spot was pretty hands off. But I know if I needed something, I could ask for it. The rooms are truly beautiful, elegant, comfortable, and just the right amount of glamorous. The location could hardly be better, with the subway station conveniently situated right across the street, making exploring Berlin a breeze. We put on the Ritz, and it was quite fantastic indeed. The rate was solid, the bar was excellent, and the drinks were on point. The whole vibe is trendy in a way that fits Berlin perfectly. Overall, highly recommended and in a great area. There is also a subway/underground stop right outside the hotel - very convenient. The lobby is an open concept but fairly small. It opens right up to the main restaurant where breakfast is served. It's welcoming but simple so you don't feel overwhelmed trying to find things (front desk, elevators, etc). We stayed in a standard king room which was very spacious for a hotel located downtown. The decor is warm and the room was very clean. If we make it to Berlin again, we will definitely stay here again.

When we checked in, we opted for a free drink, which the young, friendly lady at checkin poured for us. She confessed that she was running the entire show for the night. We took our drinks up to our spacious veranda overlooking Berlin. Unfortunately , the rain chased us back in before we could enjoy it for long. We were also informed that the mini bar was complimentary. There was just one bottle of beer, but also a rhubarb drink, which seems popular in Germany. There was also a regular and diet coke and two waters. There's not a ton of value there, but it's nice when you've been traveling all day to just pop open the fridge to a cold drink that won't cost you six euro. Charging ports were plentiful and electrical outlets well placed on both sides of the bed and wherever else you really needed them. Bed felt luxe and was super comfy with nice pillows that didn't pancake like many others. Light switches by the bed to turn everything off. TV was medium-sized and oddly placed in a corner. There are lots of channels, but only a few for English speakers. The bathroom was bright and modern. Stepping into the shower wasn't super easy, but once you close the door, the rainfall shower was nice and hot with great pressure. Bath towels were some of the largest I've encountered, but not super luxe. Breakfast buffet had plenty of items to choose from from cereal to museli, a variety of breads and pastires along with fresh smoothies, yogurt options, cold cuts and cheese, hot scrambled eggs and more. They will even cook you eggs to order or pancakes, French toast, and sausage. Loved the fresh squeezed juices, such a treat. You will not leave hungry. It is a well organized buffet, and our server was very friendly and polite. Warning to Americans, milk and juices and kept cool, but not cold by our standards. Ask for ice, if needed. It doesn't come automatically. Overall, wonderful stay. Loved everything about it. There is a nice restaurant called Thai Elephant about a block and a half walk from the Indigo. Crispy Duck and Massaman curry were great.

The only thing I don't see is the USB ports for your electronics. You still need your big adapter to get juice. The room has a coffee machine and a fridge with beer and drinks in case you get thirsty. Breakfast was awesome. There were 2 young ladies very helpful and quickly bringing you anything you wanted. They offered omelet or any specialty coffee (cappuccino, macchiato, etc). The buffet had plenty of options, including juice, fruit, cheese, and bread. The location? Conveniently located within 5 minutes walking to the Zoologischer Garten Station. From here you can move around to anywhere you want. Overall, I'm loving this place!

The room - three people stayed in a room with a queen bed and a sofa bed, which was already made before we got there. However, with the sofa bed made, the room was very hard to move around. I don't get why they don't have shower doors or curtains in Germany, the only thing that prevented the water from flooding the bathroom floor was the glass that covered the half of the shower. The sofa bed was very soft, so for folks like me who like hard bed, it's was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was included... the menu items were the same every day we were there, but they have a waffle machine with two different flavors - original and blueberry during my stay.

Only quibbles: -no sauna/steam room/spa -getting the room bill correct does not seem to be their forte...upon arrival, my Amex was pre-authorized for the full amount of the stay plus anticipated incidentals/extras, even though the rooms had been pre paid for all three nights, and only the upgrade and incidentals should have been pre authorized. Then, upon check out, another too high charge was initially authorized but apparently adjusted/credited with the help of another (senior) staff member--too early too call if it's all sorted out That said, we will unquestionably return--billing snafu aside, the experience was near the top of what I've experienced in other high end hotels.

The bed is alright, but nothing great. The AC is not really functioning, but you can open the windows. Housekeeping is inconsistent. Still, this is better and nicer as opposed to the Moxy next door. For location alone, this place gets 2 stars. 1 star for the decent room.

They said no because night hours start at 10 and it was 9:05pm. They did not care that we had an early flight the next morning. It looks nice when you walk in but when you look closer a lot of things are broken. The table top was not connected to the base. There were small holes in the curtains. The windows didn't seem to close tightly. When we checked in they made it sound like breakfast was included with our room. But when we went to get breakfast they said we're not on the list and it's 18 euros per person. You can get breakfast for 1/4 of that at many of the nearby restaurants. Good showerhead and comfy pillows. Close to a train station. Those are the only nice things I can think of.
