I rarely keave negative reviews, but my experience at 5280 Oral Surgery and dental implants was…read moredisappointing from start to finish. The front desk staff is awfull, do not tell them anything you don't want the office manager to know, The dentist doesn't explain anything to you. If you want a dentist that cares do not see this dentist. To make matters worse, the procedure I came in for was getting an implant, so first thing was to pull my teeth on April of 2022 and then I had to wait 4 months for it to heal, then he did the bone graft and I had to wait another 4 months and then he put the implant in and I had to wait another 4 months. So far I had to wait 1 year before I could put a cap on. Then I went to my dentist to get a cap and he did not use the right material and the bone was decaying which has nothing to do with the wrong material. My dentist called this dentist and he told him that the bone was decaying so he said he would take care of the tooth for free. He removed the implant and did the bone graft again and I had to wait another 4 months and when I went back he took an xray and he said he had to do another bone graft. After he added another bone graft I had to wait another 4 months. When I went up front and asked a simple question from the staff of why he didn't put enough bone the first time and was told by one of the nurses that 25% of the time this happens, The next time I went in, I was chewed out by the office manager and she told me that I am ungrateful and he is doing this work for free and I should find another surgeon and I have a cheap dentist and it's my body that is messed up and not the dentist's work. On 11/23/2025 I received a package from 5280 oral surgery with all of my records and he stated that the office dropped me as a patient. On 12/16 I had an appointment for an xray of the bone graft and no one called me to say that my appointment was cancelled. When I showed up on time, he made me wait an hour and all the patients were gone and he said I am not his patient anymore and he will not do anything for me and when I asked for my back he said no and my dentist did not use the correct material and that's why the bone was failing which make no sense and it's not true after talking to multiple surgeons. I did find a much better surgeon who guarantees his work. If your dentist refers you to this office, don't go and save yourself from a headache and dealing with unprofessional staff. Overall, I left 5280 oral surgery feeling like just another number rather than a patient whose teeth mattered. Stay away from this office and they don't have a professional office staff.

Superb oral surgeon, couldn't ask for more as he's the best! The staff is fantastic always asking if you need something. From beginning to end, I knew all the procedures to end up with an implant. Let you know at each visit what to expect. I gratefully appreciate all that Dr Barney did for me and his staff. In an emergency I would want to go to Dr Barney!

After two surgeries and severe pain for more than eight weeks., he took quick action and realized I had a bone infection in my jaw. He has worked with me every week for over eight weeks and given the total of four months that I was dealing with this problem, I have quickly improved since my surgery with him after the less than stellar experience with the previous oral surgeon. Not only did he help me identify the problem, but he continued to call me personally, on his cell while on vacation or during the past eight weeks at any point just to check in. He has a true care in his patients and making sure that they actually are doing better. I highly recommend him to anyone. I also have to mention how wonderful his staff is. They all have been wonderful to deal with and Joelle at the front desk is a true gem.

Easy to find office, friendly, helpful staff. My first appointment I was fighting a sinus infection-so we decided to wait until that cleared to do my surgery. Dr. Hambleton was down to earth and explained my options. So when I went in this week for the actual surgery, one of his staff sat with me to go over my paperwork-in case I had any questions. I chose NOT to be put under, and rather go with just local anesthesia. I really liked having that option. I got to choose the music playing during my surgery which was a nice surprise too! Surgery went better than I had hoped, and Dr Hambleton apologized for it taking too long-as he was making sure it was perfect. In my calculations the surgery was less than 35 minutes-which wasn't long in my opinion. I am still only a few days out, but I can say I'm very happy with my treatment. Dr called day after to check in too (very rare anymore, but so welcomed!)

I didn't get to do that with Dr. Liddell, but I couldn't possibly have had a better outcome. Living in San Antonio, I opted to use the dental school to take care of my jaw surgery. Dr. Liddell, who was chief resident at the time, was assigned to my case... and what a cool, mellow guy. He explained the procedure in detail, told me what to expect, what risks were involved, and answered all of my questions. He was very accommodating and treated me like I was the only patient he was going to see that day. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and above all, reassuring. He really took the time to build up a mutual trust. This was a far cry from the doctors who talk quick, get right to the point, and have you facing the exit sign before you've even got a word in... and I've seen my fair share of those. I recovered from my surgery well and relatively fast. I saw Dr. Liddell a few times after for my follow-up appointments which were pretty breezy. He made sure I was following a good home-care regimen, eating what I was supposed to, etc. Overall, he was incredibly thorough and very caring. As an aside, he has a very entertaining sense of humor. tl;dr I got my jaws sliced and diced, I'm still alive, and Dr. Liddell is fantastic. Tannyhill OMS is very lucky to have him!

I was already living with this terrible pain for FIVE days by the time I went to Dry Creek. I had a very unique situation, severe dental trauma, TMJ & recently had brain surgery, so finding someone capable of handling my situation was beyond challenging. I thought for sure; after driving 45 mins to their office, I'd have my tooth pulled, but I was wrong. I was there for TWO hours. The only thing they did for me was prescribe an antibiotic. My broken tooth was NOT infected. Dr Escalante said the antibiotic would "calm" the tooth down. It did not! The Dr said he needed to talk to my neurosurgeon before he could proceed with my extraction. I told him I was already released from my neurosurgeon & could have my tooth taken care of with no restrictions. After the Dr finally talked to my neurosurgeon's office, he then said he needed their release in writing. Wait, what? Why didn't you get that when you spoke to them on the phone the first time? After the Dr received the release in writing days later, then he wanted my neurosurgeon's office to approve the parameters of me receiving nitrous gas. Seriously? Again, why didn't you ask for all these requirements the FIRST time you spoke to my neurosurgeon's office? I understand the initial caution, but it was ridiculous at this point! It was a complete waste of my time to go to this office, referral or not. My pain meant nothing to them. And they wonder why I have severe dental trauma. They only added to it by making me live with a broken tooth for as long as I had to. Thankfully, I found an oral surgeon that pulled my tooth with no issues, didn't need to talk to my neurosurgeon or have any kind of nitrous gas parameters approved. Finally, someone who knew what they were doing! I would NOT recommend Dr Escalante at Dry Creek Oral Surgery for anything!

Since we decided not to have the oral surgery with her, she said that Delta Dental refused to pay $100 claim she filed with them, and she billed us. I called Delta Dental, and they TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT receive a claim from her! Then, she sent her $100 claim a Collection Agency. UNBELIEVABLE! Avoid this office like the plague.
