Took the bugger down to one of the local shops for framing suggestions and we went with our second choice -as the first was no longer available and so she tossed the related sample into the trashcan next to what looked like old tuna and a tomato that was sagging off the styrofoam container kind of like a cantankerous and unhappy old Chinese farmer whom was in the midst of uttering "uggh" ... but I digress, as the second choice frame turned our great and with the map in place the combo could have come straight from the US-Embassy Shanghai, China-circa 1920-something just as I had hoped. I have trusted them with framing projects in the past and have always been satisfied, which makes this experience even more disappointing because the level of service appears to have declined significantly. At the time I dropped off my awards, I was told they were a little backed up and that the work would take approximately three weeks to complete. I also paid a $180 deposit to begin the work. After about a month without any communication, I went to the shop to check on the status of my order. I was told that they had received emergency or rush orders that took priority over mine. That explanation was frustrating because I had already paid a substantial deposit and expected my order to be completed in the timeframe I was given. By mid-June, I returned to check on my order again, and it was still not finished. During my next visit in the first week of July, I was given a different explanation. I was told that the frames had been on backorder, that they had recently arrived, and that my order would be completed by the end of the following week. After waiting nearly three more weeks, I returned to the shop today, only to be told that my frames were still not ready. It has now been almost three months since I entrusted this business with my awards, despite originally being quoted a three-week turnaround. What is most disappointing is not simply the delay, but the repeated changes in the explanation and the lack of proactive communication. Throughout this process, I have had to repeatedly visit the shop just to get updates. Being told that "it's just me behind the counter taking orders" does not justify a delay of nearly three months or excuse the failure to keep customers informed. If the original estimate was unrealistic, I should have been given an honest timeframe from the beginning. If unexpected issues arose, a simple phone call or email would have gone a long way. Instead, I have received multiple explanations, repeated promises that the work would be completed "next week," and still have not received the finished product. As a returning customer, this experience has been extremely disappointing. I chose this frame shop because of the quality of service I received in the past, but it seems that things have gone downhill. At this point, I expect a clear completion date and for the business to honor the commitment it made when it accepted my order and my deposit.

At 3.5 months at end of January 2022 they said they were sending someone to pick up, but then a week later, they said I would need to help the guy carry my sofa downstairs. So, I hired movers to deliver it for them. Slipcover was to take 6 weeks to complete. Now at 4 months later, I still don't have my sofa back! I called again to let them know that I would have it picked up and find someone else to do it, and was quickly yelled at and told "NO YOU WON'T PICK IT UP!!" then she hung up on me.

Most of their sizable pieces are a few hundred dollars, but they also have some prints and posters for those of us with a champagne taste on beer budgets. The staff never minds me just checking out what they have without making purchases. It's a good way to get some visual stimulation and to take in a good dose of art without breaking your piggy bank.
