It's tough to come up with a 40th birthday gift for an estranged spouse. These days, the only thing we have in common is our children, so it seemed fitting to include them somehow. In a rare moment of clarity, I found a way to get this done, give business to a worthy photographer ( ahem, and friend) at the same time. I posed the idea to Tom, to do a photo shoot of my kids as a present for my wife and his energy and enthusiasm made me immediately think I made the right choice. We discussed locations and concepts based on what I had seen of his work. Tom had some fantastic ideas and was very receptive to my own ideas. Tom feels that the comfort of the subjects is important, so we decided to do an outdoor shoot at the park in the neighborhood where they grew up. The day came and although Tom had nothing to do with the weather, I couldn't help but feel that with the most beautiful fall day I'd ever seen, Tom has an in with Mother Nature. The shoot went flawlessly. He worked great with usually difficult kids and I could tell they felt at ease. My kids are into cosplay, where they like to dress up as their favorite characters. They loved that Tom incorporated their costumes into the shoot and couldn't wait for the pictures. And what pictures they were. I've never seen my kids look so good. The shots were classy, true and fun. I am more than pleased with the results and they were a big hit with everyone who got one. Tom uses an easy method for getting you your pics. He sets up a web page where you can view all shots and order them however you wish ( mugs, cards, photos, digital, etc) . With one click, a picture will be in your hands within hours. The overall experience with Tom, was one that I can't say enough good things about. A dwarf star of excellence? A teacup elephant of professionalism? A SmartCar of happiness? Well, she is all those things and more. Lindsay was one of two photographers we hired to shoot our wedding. We had seen her work before, and were captivated by her detail work and wonderful compositions. Since we were doing a very small 'pop-up' style wedding, we knew we wanted someone who would not only be able to capture the short ceremony, but also the entire day surrounding it as we traveled from the hotel to meet our family, and all left together for the reception dinner. Her images could not have been any better. The sheer joy of the day, and our love for each other was perfectly translated from 3 to 2 dimensions. In fact, we loved her work so much that we approached her again a year later, as we prepared for the birth of our son. I cried from the detail shots all the way until the pictures from the reception. We did our engagement shoot with Anthony at Valley Forge with our two kids, 1 year old daughter at the time and he was great! They were by far my favorite family pictures we have ever done. The pictures for the wedding day were beyond natural which is exactly what I wanted it to be. I didn't want things to seem posed or have to re pose for pictures. They caught majority of the pictures in action, and pictures that they didn't catch the poses were not unnatural and the pictures came out perfect. I had every intention to do my first looks at the venue which we had a decent amount. I was doing one with my son, my dad and obviously my husband and my husband was going to do one with our daughter. Cassandra last minute suggested that we do mine and my dads first look at the hotel which was the perfect idea! It saved us time when we got to the venue where we didn't have to rush around to fit in an extra first look and my dad could be with us right away. We also did a video with them and that was beyond amazing I cry every single time I watch the videos and I probably will cry every time I watch them. Anthony and his team was beyond amazing, from our engagement shoot to our wedding day. Everything was effortless for us. Cassandra was beyond amazing with keeping everything on a perfect schedule and making it run smoothly and dealing with my husbands crazy groomsmen. He knew how to compose shots and make them look great. But most important, the pictures came out wonderful!
