I had to do a grocery delivery for a student at Berry College today. And that was the worst experience I have had doing this job in over a year. Not Only was I treated unprofessionally, but the student was as well. My purse was recently stolen and I had to order a new drivers license when I got to the welcome center. I showed them the delivery order and the license order and situation the young guy at the gate had to go in and speak to this overweight girl with who is taking her job a little too serious and she refused to allow me to deliver the order. They told me to call the customer and make her come to the welcome center which is a 15 minute walk one way and it is over 70° today with all of her groceries. Which would have taken her at least three trips she was finally able to find a ride up there, but the welcome center only had one available parking spot. to be a handicap spot. And even though the overweight lady knew that they were coming up there to quickly get the groceries she sent the extremely overly aggressive wanna be police out there to harass these poor kids. I was absolutely shocked at how aggressive he was approaching them knowing they were just picking up their groceries that the fat girl wanted them to walk in the heat to get knowing that she would never do that. They were so apologetic and polite to this man, and he just continued to talk to them like they were beneath him had that been my kid he was speaking to I would have went to jail today and the fact that parents pay as much money as they do for these kids to attend that school just for them to be treated like that is insane to me!!!!!! there is absolutely no justification for how any of that played out today!! that wanna be police officer and that overweight girls need a serious lesson in professionalism!!!! I have never seen that type of behavior from anyone at College until today and honestly, I could care less about how they treated me but the way that they treated students at that campus is absolutely not. OK. Y'all should be ashamed!! them sweet kids look like they wanted to cry. They said that that is the normal there. read more

We were in town and wanted to take a driving tour of the 27000 acre college. Only about 2200 students in this beautiful layout. College looks like a magical life where you can learn and be free of the words worries. We saw hundreds of dear. It was normal to see 10 to 20 dear in someone's yard. It was a beautiful place to get off the road for an hour and enjoy the peace. read more

I visited Berry college yesterday because I was in the area, and I've heard that they had some excellent hiking trails. It's very close to the Marietta and Rome, GA communities. I stopped by the entrance visitor's gate, they gave me a visitors map so I could sightsee their campus. The campus is very beautiful and well maintained by the college staff. Their hiking trails and also well maintained and they're not overgrown with weeds and shrubs. They also have cottages that can be rented by visiting family, friends, or guests which looked quite cozy and comfortable. I'm sure that we will return for another visit and check out some more of their hiking trails on our next trip to the area!!!! read more

The campus is BEAUTIFUL! Tree lined streets and sidewalks are picturesque. Old buildings that are well maintained and full of local history. It is known to be conservative and leaning towards the right. That may not be for you. Because of Covid none of my classes were in person. My first time on campus was for my graduation. I was awestruck with its natural beauty. My professors were solid and I really learned a lot. They let me excel in my field and it was worth my time and money. read more

WOW talk about a beautiful campus. I was visiting my friend who lives in Rome and she was giving me the tour of the area, and Berry College was one of the stops because it is both beautiful and historic. The Buildings are glorious stone edifices that are dedicated to higher education and the green spaces are large and sprawling and the deer seem to think they're pretty cool too! Yes, wild deer congregate on the greens, under the trees and anywhwere they please. (Don't harass them, please) Because they were here first, they are truly a wonder to watch. So calming. We also took a drive up to the Mill, which is a gorgeous site to photograph and take trail walks. I'm so glad she showed me this hidden gem. read more

A beautiful campus to see, a great school if you are wealthy. If you are accepted on scholarship or work program or have a car that is older, didn't attend private schools, are on the equestrian team and don't own your own horse or can't afford to board it at their facility, don't have the Ralph Lauren catalog of new riding apparel and saddle that is broken in- and god forbid, yes I said god forbid you ride both western and English and compete western because you were raised and taught to actually ride and not sit on a hose while they dance or prance and ride around a preset course only having to remember it and jump- and as English riders never quit looking down on the ignorant fact that they believe you can only jump English, and why ride western when jumping is the best part and it's is apparently because I was told only poor uneducated people ride western. I may not of grew up and given everything I wanted but I worked hard, did so much Vollunteer work, earned my gold award in Girl Scouts, studied and took every advance course my inner city of Atlanta school had to offer and earned my acceptance into this school. So many of these judgmental, mean girls had to have their pay or donate their acceptance into the school and by the end of the first, through the second semester I was bullied so badly, by two or three professors which was so much worse than some spoiled students- that I didn't want to even leave my dorm room or go to the cafeteria to eat because of the the small size of student body and the High cool whispering and catty behavior. Beautiful campus though. It's a shame the faculty know and let this bullying happen and continue without punishment because of money. read more

I transferred here from another school, and it was far and away the best decision of my life. Berry felt like home to me before I even started coming here. The campus is absolutely GORGEOUS, the faculty is amazing, and the student body is the best group of people on the face of the planet. Sure, I could nitpick about a few very minor things, like D-Hall on weekends, but really that just doesn't even matter. I can't say enough good things about Berry. I never want to leave. read more

By far and away my decision to attend Berry was one of the greatest decisions of my life. The faculty and students of Berry made me feel welcomed, loved, and appreciated. It was a non denominational school with the right amount of religious emphasis, but the freedom to choose the level of participation. At no time did I see students oppressed or ridiculed for their beliefs or differences. As far as the notion of the school being too conservative or religious, why choose a school if that school makes it very clear they have Christian based beliefs. Beautiful scenery and ideal class sizes, but very little help for students post-graduation. As a graduate, they failed me in every way post-graduation. It's such a small, cocooned atmosphere in a private, pseudo Ivy League environment that it doesn't prepare students for the real world at all. I know it didn't prepare me for the real world challenges outside of its scenic campus walls. The tuition is higher than it needs to be when I think about the professors I had here. Some were amazing, others were horrible. The psychology department is a mess. Don't take psych classes here unless you have to. Find other coursework to complete your degree. I think the education I received, factoring in the cost of tuition, room and board, was not in line with what the faculty was touting Berry to be. It was not all that. It's not an Ivy League. It was a tiny private college with a beautiful campus and an over reliance on its surface and not the emphasis on education and helping its students achieve glory. I went to Berry for my undergraduate education from 2004-2008. Although the campus is absolutely beautiful and the quality of the sciences was good, I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone who would consider themselves progressive, anywhere close to left-leaning, or even moderate. Berry is a dry campus with curfews for boys in girls dorms and vice versa. I came to regard my college experience as a supervised Christian summer camp rather than learning how to be an adult. Further, I experienced extreme prejudice when I was here, particularly from the Winshape community - which is funded by Chick-fila-a - go figure. The majority of the students and administration are white, upper middle class, very conservative and largely Baptist affiliated (although the college isn't technically religiously affiliated). The demographic of the students is almost 95% white; ethnic, political, and sexual minorities were incredibly marginalized by the students and administration (however not by the faculty). While I was a student, the administration refused to sponsor an LGBT club and it was forced to have underground meetings, but funding and support for religious groups and agendas were almost unlimited. A college experience, on top of a solid education, is about interacting, supporting, and learning from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. This process becomes a foundation for learning who we are and who we want to be as adults. I would hope that for the majority of prospective students, this is what they want- and for that reason, I would not recommend attending as a student (although visiting the beautiful campus is a nice experience). read more
