I can't count the times I've connected at Hartsfield-Jackson - it's been too numerous to count! Interesting to learn the airport is named for former Atlanta mayors William Hartsfield and Maynard Jackson and that it is the world's busiest airport by passenger traffic since 1998 (except 2020 when C-19 affected travel) and that Hartsfield-Jackson served 108.1 million passengers in 2024 - Wow! For me, it's crowded! Everywhere! The trams are packed and are useful! The amenities are okay, if you have the time to a. get to your next gate (after all this airport has 200 gates), and b. if there's room for you to get a seat in a restaurant or bar. Depending on the time of day, I typically get a Jersey Mike's sub, an Auntie Anne's pretzel, or something at a bar like TGI Fridays, PF Changs or Phillips Seafood. And a bottle of water from one of the news stores. I've never had a bad experience at Hartsfield-Jackson and all the staff have been helpful, friendly and professional. The lack of a fifth star is due to the extremely crowded nature of this airport, each and every time I have been on travel through Atlanta!

I flew both into and out of Atlanta, and despite the airport's size, the experience was surprisingly efficient. I have TSA PreCheck, and security on my departure was incredibly fast. Everything was well organized, and I got through with no issues. Overall, it's a busy but well-run airport. Just wear comfortable shoes because you'll likely be getting your steps in!

I arrived at the airport early and went to the Delta help/customer service desk to ask if I could go on the standby list. The rep behind the counter informed me the standby list was full. The only way I could get on the flight was by paying $75 for a confirmed seat. So I declined and left the desk and proceeded to the gate where my scheduled flight was leaving from. About 20 minutes later, I hear the gate attendant asking for volunteers to move to a later flight for a flight credit for use on another flight. I guess corporate greed tops common sense and it just proves, Delta does not believe in putting their customer first! My colleague who was on that earlier flight told me there were still many empty seats on the plane.

Uber is slowly expanding their partnership with Waymo in various test markets ( Miami and other markets too). It's a chance computer assignment, and you can opt for a regular driver but hey YOLO...hehe The car was a new Jaguar outfitted with an array of cameras. When I was getting in, I heard an elderly lady behind me say in a Scarlett O'Hara accent: you sho' you wanna get in that thang, son? LOL I wasn't sure either, Miss Scarlett This was an amazing ride: like riding with the safest driver ever. Five car lengths apart and a couple of miles under the speed limit at all times. Smooth acceleration and breaking. The steering wheel is still there, moving for turns (probably to make the riders feel more "regular"). There are buttons that are more or less "emergency stop" and "call for human help" ...I tapped the help one just to be sure someone answers and then told the operator l hit by mistake. In short, it's a George Jetson feeling in a very very good way...the best Uber ride I've ever had

The service was described as full service with help with luggage and I made a note also about my elderly mother. Not only did I not get full service, the driver must not have closed the hatch on the SUV after I brought all my luggage to him, so as we are driving away from the airport at a high speed, luggage fell off, he almost did not even stop. We were lucky that a driver behind us stopped and moved the luggage to the side before it was runover. The driver did not even acknowledge or apologize. When I informed Uber they said not only would they not consider refunding any of the fare (I paid extra for full service that I did not get) but also that they are not responsible for the damage caused to personal items from the luggage that flew out of the back of the SUV. I will pay more to use other options, but won't select Uber again.
