As someone who is a representative for this community, I'm embarrassed by this business. This is a terrible car servicing place. Their sense of work ethic is bad. I made an appointment for several services. When I asked about servicing the transmission, the employee says "we can do it or if you're having problems, you can bring it in later." The point of being there is to not have issues in the first place. They then did it again. When I asked about them checking my car battery which is free, the female employee says "we only do it if you ask and even if we do, it's not a test. It's just a test for if it's good or bad. If your car isn't starting, bring it in to us." I think that's kind of the point of why I was asking. I'm not really into my car not starting. They never offered to check the battery and they only did the transmission only after I insisted. Overall, they see you as another transaction. That was evident when nobody went over what was done to my car until I asked. They were just going to take my money and send me on my way. They don't have much of a sense of what it means to serve people or go above and beyond. They follow their manager's orders but unless you're purchasing a car there, it's not really a meaningful experience. In fact, it's terrible despite that U.S. flag on their dealership's logo which now that I think about it, makes sense given the corporate transactional mindset through which they run their business and take their customers' money without a true sense of service. Worse customer care. I can see why there ratings are so bad!! We took our car on January 31st. They wanted us to do a radiator flush but we decided to wait. Well yesterday the car was over heating and we open the hood and we are missing the cap to the radiator reserve. They said we waited to long and that there mechanics don't remove that. They took no blame and we had to pay 54 dollars out of our pocket for there mistakes. I get nobody is perfect but to blame the customer and not them shows how professional they are. We took our car in for an oil change and to have the power window button replaced. They called with a quote to replace the button and my husband agreed. Fast forward to him picking up the car and now they charged an extra $179 to "diagnose" the issue. Nevermind that my husband told them the button was falling off and needed to be replaced. Not sure what they were diagnosing for $179. AND keep in mind this was not included in the quote they gave him and he agreed to. Also - as icing on the cake he got a report of items that need to be addressed on his car. No one went over the report with him or anything. Just gave it to him and that's it. Also this isn't a junker car we are talking about, its a 2021 Nissan Rogue. It sure would be nice to know if any of these "issues" are real or not. They sold me a new 2021 sentra on July 6 2021 with two damages in each the driver and the passenger door. Not even 24 hours of me owning the vehicle I notified the dealer and they told me to visit them. They took the car to the shop ans fixed the pasanger side damage, but told me they were not responsible for the driver seat door damage. The salesman, the manager, nor the director wanted to be responsible. They apologized that I didn't get a walk through when I acquired the vehicle, it was 8 30 PM with heavy rain, and nothing was noticeable at that time. The frustrating thing is that they went ahead and fixed the minor damage, but didn't take responsibility of the other one. read more

Am I the only paying customer that had problems at Nissan on Jackson in McAllen that had my car worked on and a year later had problems again after getting a whole new transmission installed they have no record that a transmission was ever sold at their locatin within that time frame. I was able to provide my bank statement of $3,463 from one year ago that says I paid at #Nissan that location and I was just treated very rudely and hung up on by the General Manager. Looking for help or advice on what I can do about this now I am left with no car and they say there is no one else I can speak to I have recording of how awful they are treating me and claim that I never had work there then when I gave them my bank statement they claim it's my fault and that I went about my purchase AT THE DEALERSHIP wrong and hung up on me. Even after multiple bad experiences with Bert Ogden Nissan of Mcallen, I decided to give the service department another try. The Young man was not friendly and did not provide any type of customer service. I was then advised it was any where from 3 to 4 weeks to get the vehicle diagnostics done and I would need an appointment. The car barely made it to their shop. I was able to tow the vehicle to an other dealership just west of this location. I was attended to immediately with great customer service and was able to get my vehicle fixed and on the road with in the next day. read more

It took 1 1/2 hours on the phone to get an oil change appointment 2 days later. I arrived for my appointment at 1:30 for a 2:00 appointment, At 3:30 the service was still not done. I complained and they finished quickly, however they used the wrong oil, so then the oil change had to be redone. It was 4:30 before it was finished. Every interaction with Bert Ogden Nissan has not gone well, from vehicle purchase to service. I have owned many vehicles and been to dealerships all over the USA, and I can say with confidence that this is truly the worst dealer I have seen in 50 years. I've purchased over 15 cars in my lifetime and also overseas but this was the worst. I felt taken advantage of and ripped off. First contact was alright until the appraisal for our 2021 KIA Soul GT-Line (10000 miles and only 9 months old) was initially $16000 and was able to increase to $17000. The price of the 2021 GMC 2500HD Denali was discounted from $88000 to $86000. We were approved for finance with Chase up to $80000. Our credit scores of almost 800 were used against us to increase the price/markup. I spoke with Diego on Friday 23 July and he would not budge on the $86K with a in-house $2500 protection plan. If I removed it then the price of the vehicle would be $90000. Ridiculous! Not was the VIN discussed or provided in two text messages with pictures of the finance cut-sheet. Then we I showed up at the dealership from Austin (325 miles away) to pickup my 2021 BLACK 2500 did Ms. Salazar drive up with a 2021 WHITE 2500. I was shocked and ticked off. I informed her to go get her manager to discuss this. Diego only offered to provide an extra $500 to the trade-in which would be $17500 now. Ms. Salazar also provided 2 license plate covers. The loan paperwork was handled satisfactory. I went home feeling very ticked off that the MSRP was $80000 and $83000 would have been alright for the black but it was white. Bert Ogden is very deceptive and not transparent. I submitted twice my information on there website to have their owner and GM contact me. One week later nothing. So I contacted GMC chat on your website and filed a formal complaint. Lastly, know I paid $22500 for the KIA last year, the trade-in should have been around $19000 so I decided to use Bert and a alias to conduct some research. I acted as if I was interested in purchasing a new vehicle from Bert Ogden and trade-in my 2021 KIA again. Interesting the value from their website stated $18000 to $19500 and then I received an email from Delilah Fuentes offering $1500 added to the $19500 trade-in of the KIA. This disgusted me further. I don't consider this matter closed and want to discuss this with the dealership GM. My options are to file a formal complaint to the Brownsville BBB and use social platforms Google, Facebook, Yelp, etc. to further comment and discuss the dishonest activities of Bert Odgen GMC. read more

I had a bad experience with the new car sales. I went in for a 2013 quest that had a price tag onlne for 29784, on the sticker it had a price of 32000. Then when the sales guy, mike, shows me the financing they were selling it for 33000. Never were they up front with the nunbers. Then my wife and I changed our minds and they would not let us go. Serivce Department is Horrible. I have a 2013 Pathfinder and I have owned two previous Nissan vehicles. I have always used Ed Hicks in Corpus for all service even oil changes. They are remarkable. With a radiator issue, I have been forced to use Bert Odgen. Now I'm being charged for the moon due to "road damage" which is clearly a factory defect. Now a lost part so the car has been in the shop 3 full working days and nothing has been done, no help and no explainations. No reimbursement or offer of a rental car (standard rental car is $35 per day- the airport is $18) and no excuse or explaination. No offer of any kind of help. Just "we are looking into the problem". PLEASE take your car somewhere else and dont get sucked in. This is the worst experience ever. I should have paid for the car to be towed 200 miles north. read more

This is the absolute WORST dealership I have been to, (and trust me I've been to Charlie Clark). However Bert Ogden Nissan in McAllen does not know how to treat its customers. I went in looking to purchase a brand new Titan for myself, after driving an hour to get there the reception said the sales man would be ready for me. After a while of waiting he shows up not even introducing himself, I really thought he was just some random guy and didn't really put any effort into the sale. After calculating a few numbers for around 20 minutes AND CHECKING MY CREDIT he said he couldn't do better but that he'd try tomorrow and call us back. He never did. So I CALLED THEM BACK. The lady then transfers me to ANOTHER sales man who promises to put his 100% into getting us a solution and call us back within a couple of hours. He never did. Long story short I went to Luke Fruia in Brownsville and got my self a new GMC Sierra instead. Best service and best thing I've done in my life. I guess things do happen for a reason. read more

Absolutely terrible service department. I have had my Nissan serviced in Houston, TX and Los Angeles, CA (where it was purchased) and never had such bad customer service. My vehicle was received by the service department first thing in the morning (7:30 a) to handle an automotive issue (other than an oil change). The service personnel took 2 hours just to inform me I was not covered under warranty and had not done any work to my car. That information alone should not be withheld for 2 hours. Another two hours passed and the car had still not been worked on. I asked when I could expect to receive an estimate and why this issue was taking so long to resolve. The vehicle was not being fixed, I simply needed to know what was wrong with it. The service person told me I could "take my car back" if I wanted. That is not exactly a solution to the ineffective and inefficient service provided by this dealership. Just a shame to see people work in customer service and not know how to handle common/daily customer service issues. The service department either needs new management or training in efficiency and dealing with customers. I DO NOT RECOMMEND and WILL NOT BE COMING BACK FOR FURTHER SERVICE. read more

Once the paper work started the car was $5k more than what he had told me. I didn't agree with the price and told him I was no longer interested.Mauricio would not shake my had and didn't let me leave. He called in the manager which was aggressively trying to sell me the car. Manager was rude, unprofessional and insulting. My new beautiful Nissan Altima was purchased at Bert Ogden Nissan. This is the first car I have bought by myself at 70 years old. Jay Silva, the salesman was very good at educating me about my car. I was sold after the test drive. The features are like a car of much greater value. The car has already kept me from getting in the next lane when it was unsafe. I travel a lot alone in my car and I couldn't survive without my Utunes, Sirius, blue tooth phone and the reading of my text messages. It's so different from my 2011 Altima and I love this car!! Also, from the beginning of the whole experience to the financing I was aware of my lack of stress due to their efficiency. I'll be back in two years to buy another Altima. I love my car! Went to the service department needing to do scheduled maintenance on my Nissan truck, after speaking with the guy he didn't even know what he was selling me or what my vehicle's suggested maintenance was. I went on a slow Monday morning and they couldn't even supply a shuttle ( I live three blocks away). The service guy took my keys and threw them on the cab of my truck as he checked the mileage possibly scratching the paint. If this is how they treat my vehicle while I'm there, I can imagine how they would when I'm gone. I told him, I'd go somewhere else and backed out after that. I called twice, no one would answer the phone. I called once more and was asked to leave my number and they would respond . Three hours alter I was called, I set the appointment and was told that I would be notified to confirm my appointment . No one called or notified by e-mail of the upcoming . This morning I took the vehicle to the service department, I was second in line just to be told that scheduled maintenance was on the express lane, why set an appointment ????? There was a young lady with her makeup case on her counter, didn't even respond to my good morning. I had several questions to ask and she kept interfering while I was speaking to the point that I had to tell her to listen to me. This young lady obviously did not get enough rest last night, but that's not my fault. I bought vehicle interior protection and I asked if the vehicle could get washed and the interior spots cleaned . "Oh, we don't do that ". She directed me to the department responsible, but, that they would show up at nine. I also asked if all these services were done, would they be on one bill, she responded, "No ." Wow! The staff on Christmas was the bottom of the barrel! The young girl I dealt with didn't even bother brushing her hair. She went in giving me a higher than advertised price. I pulled out the ad on my phone and she didn't even know what it was about. Very untrained! I find it hard to believe that a dealership as big as Bert Ogden had this kind of worker on the floor. Her floor manager was just as rude by telling me he would not negotiate below advertised and actually used the words "go somewhere else ". Took my daughter to buy a Nissan Rogue some time ago. She took her child seats with her to see if they would be adequately fit in the Rouge with the "FAMILY PACKAGE". We took it home and now after 12 months, the third baby on the way we consulted the owners manual about how to install the third child seat. To our huge surprise, the Rouge is one of the very few SUV's that is equipped for only 2 child seats! Almost ANY of its competitors, 3rd row seating available or not, can accommodate at least 3 seats! Now we have a useless SUV until the end of the lease that has no "utility" for our basic needs. Trying to trade it in were totally fruitless since the same dealership wanted us to double the payment for the larger Pathfinder and 3 other dealers offered 4000 Dollars under low bluebook. We ended up purchasing an additional vehicle (Ford Explorer) which can accommodate up to 4 child seats and has a better safety rating. Summary: Cannot trust what Ogden salespeople tell you, do your homework before buying from Bert Ogden! read more

I went to Bert Ogden Nissan in November to buy a used Nissan SUV for my college age son. No one knew the prices of the used SUVs, and so they kept walking back to check. The prices didn't match the newspaper listings. Of course they had "conveniently" sold the SUV. Sounds like the old " bait and switch". My husband leased a BMW X5 about 1-1/2 year ago. He was sold on the fact that we would get it serviced for free and a replacement vehicle would be provided when service would be longer than expected. Well I scheduled service 1 week in advance and it so happened that the vehicle started to not want to turn on. When we took it in on scheduled service he mentioned the problem and the guy said all he'd be able to do was the regular service (oil change, etc.) and we should schedule another date to bring it back. My husband told him we were already here and he would leave it anyway cuz it would not be worth having to tow it in later if the problem continued. The guy said he would not be able to give us a replacement cuz we needed to let them know ahead of time. It's at times like this when this service would have been most needed. You know the car is not gonna let u know ahead of time when it's gonna break down. Well we left it anyway and 3 weeks later when no one ever called to inform us on the status we go & nothing had been done to it! At least they could of made arrangements for a replacement within a week or something that would just let us know they were trying to work with the customer. In the end we wanted nothing to do with them so we traded our vehicle at Clark Chevrolet whom were more than willing to work with us. The BMW got paid and I'm now the happy owner of a Tahoe & and let me tell u the x5 has nothing on the Tahoe. read more
