This is the 2nd time I have been there. I bought a car there 8 years ago. My sales rep changed my car at the last moment (I has to redo all my paperwork as the Vin changed) and some of my features were taken off. When I questioned them about this, they swore it was the same exact car. The only reason I went back was because it is the closest dealership to my house. This time, Brian Hall was my sales rep. Brian told me that my deposit would be $500 and my trade in would be $3000-4000. I didn't feel comfortable buying a car I couldn't see (I want pre-owned and certified- they don't certify unless you want to pay an addition $1500?!?) so I told Brian I would think about it and come back. When I came back, he now wanted $1000 deposit and my trade in was now only $2800. And- he made an appointment with me for 3:00 and didn't show up until 3:50pm. I still felt uneasy given that the figures were now changing. Brian told me to go to Diamond Chevy to look at cars, but of I bought one there he would "hunt me down at my house and give me anthrax". Wow this is the worst rated NEW CAR DEALER I've seen yet. I came on here to tell of my unprofessional dealings just by email with this place that were bad enough to keep me from even going there ! They are really good at one thing... scaring away customers before they even get there ! Blessing in disguise I guess. Saved me gas, and time so thank you for that. I was inquiring about a car I was interested in and asked if the price was still negotiable considering the car had an accident report on Carfax, and 4 previous owner. (2011 Impala LT, Black) Someone by the name of Samantha replied with this song and dance that it wasnt an accident but rather a damage report !! Then tries to sugar coat it saying it could have been a branch or shopping cart. For Carfax to get wind of this it would have to have been a significant enough damage claim through the insurance co. and obviously higher than the owner's deductible. Or no one would find out about it especially since there was no "motor vehicle accident" report made. (An example would be hitting a tree in your own driveway). Police wont do accident reports in such cases. Anyways she was throwing out guesses arguing with me back and forth by email until I had enough. I would never buy a car from this place. I really wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing my Jeep. Honestly, I would say that I was happy until recently. I was told that the vehicle has left their lot and therefore was not their problem, that it wasn't their job to be at my "beck and call" when things go wrong, and that they have other customers than just me. Like, are you serious? I spent 30 grand on a Jeep and now they don't want to deal with me. The first issue was with the ignition. It wouldn't start with the actual key, just the remote! It took 3 months BEFORE COVID to get that handled. It took a month just to get a return phone call after numerous calls and emails to get this fixed. Customer service is the WORST. I have never felt so unappreciated or disrespected at a dealership where you would think they would want return business. Nope! Once they have your money, you are nothing more than a problem to them - and they will make sure you understand that! I wish I had Jodie on voicemail to demonstrate just how rude these people are. bought a 2013 wrx from this company from which i worked for at the time.. ryan who was my salesman at the time was great but after 1800 miles of driving it the motor blew. thank to my amazing employees at the time they charged me 2 grand with no warranty to get my motor replaced which took around a month and a half.. after getting my car back tranny bolts werent put in fully i was missing loads of bolts. ive had injectors go/turbo blown/ and much more and fast forward a year after the motor blew.. it blew again thank you for selling me a 16.5K lemon which was listed originally @14.5K . the GM and service was a joke... safe to say i quit ASAP DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! read more

If I could do negative stars I would. Brought my 2019 Duramax High Country in for recalls..during the process of the recalls the technician shorted a wire on the harness, for over a day they blamed the computer program. They told me several fairy tales about what was wrong and put the head tech on it..over a day later they said this happen during manufacturing..they as a courtesy filled my fluids....while spilling DEF fluid throughout my engine compartment. They spliced wire together and put shrink tape in it and sent me on my way.. A 70 thousand plus truck with only 6000 miles on it that drives in New England winters...they say it will be fine..load of crap they will not take responsibility for it. The truck has now diminished in value and has a hacked system..put in complaint with GM but because they are independently owned they cannot do anything to help me..bottom line they recommend you buy from their and take your vehicle their for repairs but when they damage your vehicle your out of luck unless you want to take legal action..buyer beware..repairs they are hacks. read more

I'm only willing to give them one-star thanks to Jacob in the Sales dept., but you better pray that you never have to deal with the service dept. They are the least helpful group of people I've ever had the displeasure of working with. I emailed twice with no reply, I called and left messages and didn't hear back for several days, but surprisingly they did eventually get back to me four days later. They were never outright rude, but consistently had an apathetic/ indifferent/ disinterested/ unconcerned/ uninterested demeanor and made me feel like I was somehow lucky to have them working on my vehicle. They have lost me as a customer for life. There are plenty of other (better and probably cheaper) places to service your vehicle. read more

I am here to share my husband's and my experience about this place. To start, we would not recommend this company for any type of services whatsoever. From the start, we were treated HORRIBLY by this place, from anyone we ever talked to. As customers who ALWAYS paid in full, we are disgusted and upset by our experience and we will certainly never be returning to this place, a place we feel is a poor excuse of a company, and we recommend the same for anyone who wants to be treated with respect. My husband purchased his truck here and was interested in the "free" tires for life program. In my opinion, I am not sure how this place can get away with calling this program "free" tires for life because nothing about it is free by any means. He was told that if he paid for a $2k service that he would remain eligible for this program. We should have took this as a warning but in good faith, my husband used his hard earned savings to do this, again PAID IN FULL. After this, they measured his tires. This is when our problems began. For over THREE MONTHS, he called every week to check on the status of his request. Most times, they wouldn't even give him the time of day, saying people were out and they didn't have any information. When we did get any information, he was told there was a paperwork issue. This went on for a month. The remaining two months he was told that tires were ordered and then they ordered the wrong thing. We feel that they could have had the respect to at least tell him the truth, but we couldn't even get that out of them. Of course, when all the excuses were done and they could do the tires, they took a very very small percentage off for this "free" tires for life program. They claimed, the day of, that the wrong tires came in and had to reorder (how they then came in THE SAME DAY is beyond us after waiting three months). And in the end, this was some of the worst craftsmanship we've seen, his rims were all scratched up. Also, the amount he was charged, he would've been able to go to any other place to get tires and be treated with some dignity. So, I caution anyone who considers doing business here to at least look at other options. This was a horrible experience, we felt that we were lied to, treated as less than human, and had to deal with months of frustration. We will never be returning to this place. A frustrating interaction with the dealership itself. The sales associate, Drake, was professional and helpful but the dealership not so much. This was the first time I was out looking for a truck and I have never owned one before. I saw a truck that I found very appealing and was very tempted to purchase it but me being me, had to do my due diligence beforehand. The dealership offered me to take the truck home and think about it over night but requested a $500 retainer. No problem...I thought. Well after sleeping on it and searching the internet for more information on the truck I decided against it for a variety of reasons not related to the one star rating. I called first thing in the morning and left a voice message for Drake telling him I had decided against the truck and I would be returning it shortly. When I returned the truck the $500 was not forth coming...I was told in perhaps a week once my check had cleared. I was taken aback. I really thought they would hold onto my check till they heard from me but not so. Fortunately I was able to put a hold on the check as I was uncomfortable with the ethics of this dealership. read more

Can I count how many ways I find this dealership odious, unethical and sleazy? They advertise vehicles on their website with ambiguous language that can be taken two ways. One way is that the advertised cost is factual. The other way is that the cost may increase by in excess of $2,000.00. Just for the mere fact of support of dubious advertising prevented me from even making a trek out to Palmer to see this sought after vehicle. The salesman that I spoke to, when I put his feet to the fire did reveal that the advertised cost is WHOLESALE, which the ambiguous language makes no mention of at all. He noted that the vehicle in question was $1,000 more in cost because they needed to mount (2) new tires on the vehicle. I'm familiar with the costs of tires and have never seen a $500.00 tire. He did not admit to any other monies that this dealership spent on repairs because I reminded him that this vehicle is still under bumper to bumper warrant of 3yr / 36,000 miles. Check out the website if you get a chance. Why do I need to see some pseudo intellectual saying he's the man to buy Chevy's from on every car segment? He looks like a professor who would be teaching at the now defunct Trump University. Who needs to plaster his own face to sell a car? I will preface this with...I finally dropped my vehicle at Midas in Enfield CT this morning 6/26 at 10am. Less than 4 hours later they had identified the cause of the squeak & fixed it. $85 out of pocket but worth every cent! Over the past 9 months, Bertera Chevrolet had her on SIX different occasions, sometimes for numerous days at a time, one time for over a week. We dropped off my 2019 Suburban LT the afternoon of 6/22 around 4:45pm for a scheduled appt of 7:30am 6/23. We intentionally went early so that we could show David Bonica the issue we were experiencing with an annoying squeak in the rear of the vehicle. It was difficult for us to determine if it was interior or exterior as we could hear it clearly and obnoxiously on the interior while driving but also, if the back bench was bounced on when the vehicle was parked, you could hear it clearly on the exterior. It took some convincing to get him to come outside for a minute to listen (it should be noted that masks do not hide eye rolls) but he eventually came outside and we had our grown daughter jump on the back bench to demonstrate the noise. On the morning of 6/23 he called me and said the service was complete, they'd done the oil change/tire rotation and had also lubed connections that might be the cause and had insulated the brake cables. He said he and the mechanic had recreated the demonstration we'd shown and "there was no noise so if it comes back it's just that it needs to be lubed more often". I was thrilled to finally have this taken care of! I picked up my vehicle a short while later and, upon checking out to pay, was told by Mr. Bonica (in front of the checkout lady) that when I fill out the satisfaction survey to "give all high stars because I'm perfect and I am held personally responsible for these things". I finished paying, went back to my vehicle and drove down the driveway of Bertera Chevrolet and turned onto the main road and IMMEDIATELY heard the squeak. I considered turning right back into the dealership but I am exhausted from dealing with this service department. At this point they've never managed to correct anything! I've had my vehicle 13 months now and I've had two issues basically the entire time...a swooshing noise up front under the center console and a squeak in the rear. All I get from Bertera's service is eye rolls, lies and blow offs. Clearly I was lied to because there's no way that anybody bounced around on the back bench or they'd have clearly heard the noise. We are now back to having to figure it out ourself which is ridiculous in a new vehicle that cost as much as this one did! I was told back in January, after taking a road test with Nick, a master mechanic, that a Chevrolet engineer would be contacted to find out if something else could be done such as sound proofing to block the noise coming from below the center console. I never heard back and when I asked Mr. Bonica on the status of that he told me, with an eye roll, that he "wasn't really familiar with what that was all about because it was never in my [his] hands" (despite us exchanging emails about it including exchanging videos of the noise in question) and "even if anything did get started with Chevy it would've got lost in everything that happened with the pandemic". He then told me he'd follow up on the engineer thing and get back to me "by the end of the week". Lies, eye rolls, blow offs. I never heard back from him. Shocker. I pay $30/day for the 'pleasure' of driving this vehicle. She has 5750 miles on her and makes more noise than my husband's 2014 Silverado that has 100k miles. After over 20 years of Chevrolet loyalty, and currently owning 4 in our household, we won't be buying Chevy anymore. read more

I am updating my review that I left below. After seeing this review we were contacted by Drake and he went out of his way to make everything right. They detailed the truck and got rid of the smoke smell. They also reimbursed us for the windshield wipers my husband had to buy on the way home. I am not giving them four stars because this should not have happened in the first place, after seeing how wonderful the truck looked after we took it back it is obvious they didn't detail it very well in the first place. In other words this should have been done correctly from the beginning. We live an hour away from the dealership and the inconvenience of having to take it back is the reason I'm giving 4 stars. That being said, Drake's customer service was spot on. We bought a pre owned Chevrolet truck here 2 weeks ago. We worked with Drake primarily. It was a long process that was hindered a bit by the Covid 19 pandemic, which we completely understand, no complaints there. Drake was available for any questions we had via email and telephone. The two issues I have with this purchase and the reason I am giving 2 stars is 1 - when we picked the truck up it was not detailed very well at all. There are still stains on the driver side seat as well as dirt throughout the truck on the floor. In addition to that it smells heavily of smoke, my husband brought this up to Drake after test driving and he assured us it would be gone after detailing which it was most definitely not. The second issue we have it that the day my husband picked it up it was raining heavily, the windshield wipers were terrible and he had to spend $45 on new ones on the way home in order to safely drive in the rain. We just bought another Chevy in August 2019 and the experience at a different dealership was much better. In the future we will go back there for sure. read more

Just looking to reiterate other reviews on line about this dealership. I strongly recommend that no one purchase a used vehicle from these folks. You will be greeted by your new best friend when you get there, and they will be just that until you have signed away on the dotted line. After that point forget about getting the time of day from them. In retrospect I should have inspected my car more closely before taking delivery, or taken it to a mechanic and had it looked at as if I had bought it from a private party. I thought doing business and paying a premium to buy a used vehicle from a branded dealership would eliminate any post purchase issues, but at Bertera it does not. I wonder what they were actually doing the extra days they kept my car, I know they weren't performing a 200 point inspection. Thank you for washing and waxing it however, that is way more important than functioning 4WD, fresh oil, a functioning water pump, working lights and decent brakes. I only turn to the internet after multiple attempts to contact the General Manager with no success. I guess he must be one of these new age executives that doesn't check his email or voice messages. We were waiting most of a day for a call back to get the bank check amount for full payment on a vehicle. After several attempts to call, text and email we finally got a call. We were told that the vehicle was sold. We were then wrongly accused of not giving them all the information up front. When we asked to talk to someone in management the answer given was that they were busy. If a mistake was somehow made, at least own it and attempt to fix it. If I could give less than one star I would . (Total Incompetence) custom ordered new truck with accessories. Asked salesperson everything was included, yes was the response was, even have email. Didn't haggle over price paid what they asked less rebate. Then told this wasn't included in price add $1000 now. Then called and told truck is in but we never ordered the accessories. Waiting over two months for the right bug deflector. Then it comes in all scratched up. Order new one another two months. now installed. Had to go back and have window vents installed on ride home one blew off. Go in for the window vent to be installed dealership ordered wrong one. Truck was in for recalls and window vent install dropped off for whole day. Was told at three o'clock that wrong window vents ordered and they couldn't do the service recalls scheduled appointment two weeks in advance what a dealership. Have already deterred three friends from going to buy a vehicle at this dealership and will continue to do so. Still waiting on the window vent. read more

Worst dealership ever. I'm an out of state buyer. Called them, made a deal over the phone. Left a deposit so it wouldn't get sold. Put in a credit app. They ran my credit. Then a few hours later they say the car was sold to someone else. Worst experience ever with a dealership. Now I don't get the car, hard inquiry on my credit and now I have to hope to get my deposit back. Find another dealer, worst dealer experience in my life. Stay away!! read more

I ended up not getting to test drive the truck I scheduled for to test drive. Then they low balled me on my trade in. It was less than what KBB showed. I stopped into Bertera looking to purchase a used vehicle for my fiance, and it was among the worst experiences of my life. I am used to the kind of attention you get when you're out with an attractive woman, but it was really a slap in the face to hear the manager Jay laughing and making offensive remarks about my soon to be wife within moments of my salesman presenting me with a number 2500 higher than what I read online. At first I thought I might have been imagining it, but sure enough this arrogant jerk was clearly motioning and laughing in a way that he apparently thought was sly when I would turn away from his direction. I might have paid the increased price because it was still average, but the fact that I had literally just witnessed the guy who came in to try and save the deal essentially molest my partner from the confines of his office really rubbed me the wrong way...my description of this place is seedy at best, and deceptive on the whole. If I could give zero stars I would. I recommend avoiding these folks at all costs. Got a reasonable trade and deal on a new 2015 Silverado HD truck which I ordered in early 2014. That was then end of the good. Last visit they damaged my truck, said they test drove my issues (hmmm 0.2 miles added on the Odometer), and fixed a recall. The recall is still active on my truck with GM, so I guess they didn't damage the truck, fix the recall or test drive the issues. Couldn't even get an oil change and tire rotation correct, not even an apology or offer of a free one for their screw up. Offered solutions to make me a happy customer and refused every one of them. Was told if I didn't like it, go fix it myself. Yeah, that's really good customer service/warrenty on a very expensive truck. They know how to play the game Many issues under warranty with the truck not repaired, they blamed GM not approving repairs,GM says dealer says nothing wrong with truck. GM says they are not responsible for dealer actions since dealer is private. Get the game played? I asked to speak with the owners or even the GM, was told personally by the GM to let him know if I ever ad problems. He refused to answer my calls. I was told they don't ever want to see me again. NEVER GO HERE! Spent four hours there- Threw out a reasonable offer on a vehicle- took them 45 minutes to come back. The manager guy, Nick, was a complete tool and said he would do the deal if I would switch to the FW model instead of the AWD. No problem, I said let's do it- 45 minutes later the sales guy, Bob, returns with a paper full of different numbers than we just agreed to then acted like he didn't remember what we just shook on...he calls back Nick, and the games just keep getting more unbelievable. This is one sketchy, lying group. It's too bad- they give Chevy a bad name. I'm a first time customer. I bought a brand new 2019 Chevy 2500 High country Duramax diesel. Following day I noticed a door crease dent in the passenger side fender which was not seen the afternoon of picking it up. I Contacted the dealership and told them about the situation and that I would be contacting the person I use for my paintless dent removal. They said to send an invoice when complete. When completed it was much more expensive than anticipated for both parties. This now turned to them telling me they won't cover it and it would not cost the $644 that I paid. This was no ordinary door ding but a door crease on the body line in the passenger fender with minimal access to be taken out. I was told that you could paint the whole side of the truck for that which is clearly the furthest thing from the case, that would be a $2,500 job. That this should have only cost $100, and that they have multiple debts taken out for $100. This all being told by a manager who's never done any of this is arguing costs and prices with a master technician in the auto body field. Once I left the lot I was told it's not their problem because the detail department didn't see it as if humans don't overlook things and make mistakes. Would not recommend to anyone. Purchasing an expensive vehicle and you're treated like this especially as a first time customer. Very unprofessional. Would not return or recommend to anyone. read more

Was told there weren't any photos because it had just come in (lie #1), and that they would send them to me as soon as they got them, which was apparently never (lie #2). My grandmother purchased her car here in March of 2019. She was transferring her plates from her previous vehicle and Bertera knew this. When she went to pick up her vehicle they had different plates on the car. She informed them that they were incorrect and Joe Fearn couldn't find her plates and needed to locate them. Once they were located they called her and told her to come in so they could put them on and they could also mail them to her. They were mailed and they asked her to return the plates they put on to the DMV(Enfield, CT). She returned the plates to the DMV once she got her plates put back on her vehicle. Everything seemed to go smooth..until she got her car tax this year and she found out that her vehicle was STILL registered to the plates the dealer put on. She called Bertera and they told her too bad, not their problem (she spoke with the GM & he informed her Joe Fearn was no longer employed there). She's in her 70's and we are in the middle of a pandemic and they want her to go back to the DMV to fix what they should have done right in the first place. She's beside herself with this mistake and when she found out and called the DMV they told her she was driving illegally for a year and she better hope she doesn't get pulled over because she could be arrested. This is a dealership that I wouldn't ever trust and I'd recommend you shouldn't either unless you like a bunch of screw ups taking care of you. read more

Very poor experience. I visited the dealership with family to buy a truck that was found online. They sent a welcome message not one half hour before the appointment, had us sit through an interview, they took personal data, and only then told us the vehicle was sold, immediately trying to substitute an more expensive alternative. We tried to notify management that this was not a good business practice and the floor manager could not have cared less about our dissatisfaction. read more

I've read the previous reviews for this dealership and have to laugh. I have had nothing but good experiences at this Dealership. The service has always been good and the salesmen I've dealt with were pleasant. Of course I bought new because my credit wasn't so good but I can't complain... they got me into two good vehicles that I've thoroughly loved driving. And any repairs have been under warranty except for a tire. Yeah the phone calls asking if I'd be interested in trading in my previous car that I already traded into them are annoying but it's a dealership...with a sales department... that has people cold calling based on lists handed to them. It's a small matter. And all you folks that are complaining about your problems buying a used vehicle... um duh... when buying used you always run the risk of buying someone else's problem. A car can be inspected 10 times by 10 different people and found to be in perfect operating condition and just blow up 3 days later. As upsetting as a situation like that is I can venture a guess that you went in guns blazing, pitching a fit. You get back what you give folks. I called about a truck they had advertised, they wanted me to set a appointment which I did for the next afternoon . they called me the next morning and told me they had received other calls and if I wanted to reserve the truck I should put a deposit, they said this would save the truck for me, which I did. Zero Stars -- Bait and switch, they post prices on web that are not real. Lot of BS and high pressure sales. Not an honest place. Prices advertised on their web site are misleading. The link for Deal details,tells you to contact the dealer. That price is not available to a buyer. Price advertised on web site for a: 2017 Sonic was $16,820. I called to ask about the prices I was told yes those were valid prices. When i went to the dealership I gave the sales person a slip of paper with the stock # and the price from the web site. he got the vehicle and we took a test drive. I told him we were interested in buying the car. He then came back from checking with manager said the discounts i qualified for put the price at $19,600. After he refused to give me a list of discounts used to get to the $16820 price. After asking questions about discounts I determined that no one could actually get this low price. Then the double talk and manipulation started. At this point I got irritated and asked for my keys and registration. That took 15 minutes while they tried to convince me that $19600 was better then $16820. The next day I discovered that they had not returned my registration. I had to have them mail and e-mail it to me. This is bait and switch plain and simple. I have not see this type of business practice in 20 years. If they can not be honest from the first point of contact, how can I expect that they will not lie to me in future dealings. read more

Found a used car I really liked through the website which was a used 2007 Toyota Avalon. I printed out the info and called before going to see the car since I was over an hour away. The sales person put me on hold to check with her manager and came back a minute later stating the car was at the location. Since I had an hour plus drive I reconfirmed and was told "Yes sir the car is here". When I got to the dealer that same morning, the manager said the car had gone back to auction earlier that week and began to try and sell me on a Camry. This is clearly a bait and switch situation. The customer service at this dealer is sub-par at best... Buyer beware!!! read more

I would put negative stars if I could. Number one... don't go to Brian Hall if you absolutely need to shop here. Number 2... don't shop here. Horrible customer service. Waited hours and they still were not ready the following day when told a final time for pick up... I bought a vehicle and still was treated like crap. The overall experience was Waite than the worst. I just bought another new car in 2015 and that was pleasant and of course had the typical waits. This place was 6+ hours of pain! And I have an excellent credit score plus a very new trade in and money down. I was ready to walk in and out, I already saw what I wanted on their website and came preapproved from the bank..... and stillllll this was almost a two day event. 100% DISSATISFACTION! Confirmed 3 cars of interest, confirmed via email and phone a reservation to view cars. When arrived 2 day's later "all three cars were sold" traveled and out distance to dealership. Never sat down with initial salesman, they attempted to show the exact same car with more mileage and asked for MORE MONEY! Salesman was unwilling to negotiate or accommodate. Untrustworthy dealership! Not willing to work with you and knowledge level was not up to par, they had to check in the office about mileage and price every time I asked about a car. Price listed with incentives brought me in. Liked the vehicle and proceeded to ask to buy the vehicle at price listed. Told them i was paying cash with no trade in. You would think this would get you the best service in spite of their wanting to make money on financing. I was ready to pay cash and be done and out the door and they added $5000 to the price, stating the incentives included "GM loyalty" and "trade in". Lie after lie. the management here are crooks! not blaming the sales reps although i cant judge there motives. misleading and manipulative. Buyer Beware. read more

I purchased 2 vehicles from there. Both times I had arrogant salesmen. The 1st vehicle I purchased, I made the mistake of telling them My wife was in an accident a few days prior. They wouldn't budge on the price, im assuming because they thought I was getting a huge check from the insurance. I bout the car that day because I had to get back to work and I figured it was easier to close the deal then to miss another few days of work. I lived on the road and traveled the country on construction projects. I made good money and just wanted it over with. The second time I went there, they tried charging me 18% interest. I knew my credit score and told them that they needed to bring it down a LOT. They eventually did, after I walked out and the salesman followed me out to the parking lot. They got me a fair rate, but the 2 experiences soured me to ever going back again. I never understood why dealers have to lie and alter the facts to get people to buy. If they were upfront, honest and offered the very best deal possible, there would be a line out the door to buy. read more
