Located at the junction of Old Bath Road and New Meadows Road, it's a gas station above the rest. In addition to the standard gas station store stuff (half liter colas, chips candy, ice), it got a FULL liquor department (with a moderately extensive beer, wine and liquor selection), Green Mountain Coffee always ready to go, full sized food stuffs (like cereal, gallon milk, and quart sized half and half), and a Poland Springs water stand completely stocked. The Best Part: it's open insanely early AND late. In a town where everything opens at 8 am and closes at 9 pm. This place is a god send. Forgot to pick up that milk for breakfast the night before and want your Wheaties breakfast with the sunrise at 5:00 am? No problem, head down to the West Bath Superstop to get that gallon sized 1% milk. Want to continue drinking at 10 pm and ran out of beer? No Problem, the West Bath Superstop has just what you need...when you need it. While it's no substitution for Shaw's or Hannaford supermarkets, it will do in a pinch. And it will do a good job in a pinch. It was originally meant to serve boaters putting in at the New Meadows Marina that is just across the river, but now I notice that a lot of non-boating people are using it....I know I have and I don't own a boat. And they don't care what you look like either. I went recently at 5:30 am to get half and half looking like I had (what else?) just woken up, and the check out lady didn't even blink an eye. Just don't get turned off by what I call the "ghetto factor." The outside (and parts of the inside) look like it would fit in nicely in a Bronx ghetto, but the service is pure Maine: nice and friendly.

This is West Bath's best kept secret! This fuel point along the old US Route 1, is a pit stop…read moreparadise! Cheap Gas, with all of the supplies! The have plenty of parking, the fuel pumps are easy to access with a trailer in tow! The coffee is of the Green Mountain variety, they have pastries, donuts, sandwiches and salads to go. They have hot food and slices to go! There is cold beer, wine and liquor available. They have all of your needs. So if you are looking to spend the day boating, hiking, beaching it, touring or just barbecuing! This is a handy spot just north of Brunswick. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are always busy with keeping this stop going! The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. There is also an outfitter in the same building, so if you forgot some clothing or the weather changes for the worst! It is Maine, you never know! Pull on in for some rest and resupply. Check'em out next time you are headed up the coast!

How this place is still in business is beyond everyone we know in the business…read more As a Master mechanic, If I didn't warn folks about this predatory shop I wouldn't be able to sleep at nite... shop around please...this place is notorious for ripping off customers..charging g three times the cost for parts or more and padding the bill in anyway they can. .. so many fake reviews and they still have only a 3 star rating. Don't be fooled by this place , I have had too many folks and other shops tell of the trickery and games this place will play to get more money out of the customer. They will smile at you while they overcharge you for anything they can. Shop around for a reputable place...in my opinion and many others in the community, this is a bad place to get your vehicle serviced at...period.

One morning, I arrived in Augusta and realized that my car was in need of emergency repairs. The staff at Al's went out of their way to squeeze me in so that I wouldn't be stuck in Augusta overnight. They charged me a fair price and took extra time to explain everything they were doing, even showing me photos. They also drove me to my office while they did the work on my car and picked me up at the end of the day when they were finished. And getting to meet Radar (the adorable Corgi/watchdog) was just the cherry on top of the whole experience. I'm so grateful for the excellent service!
