Please. Go literally anywhere but here. Please do not trust their certified pre-owned inspections. They sold me a very low mileage certified pre-owned cx-70. They yucked up the rigorous quality testing of the CPO certification process and charged a premium for it. After the test drive I expressed some concern about the steering, which they shrugged off as only lane assist safety features that could be turned off. That wasn't true. The vehicle had a fundamentally flawed steering system. It steered under its own volition regularly which almost caused 3 accidents. They attempted to repair it for 4 months, of which they had it in their possession more than me. They did not have a clue what was wrong with it so they arbitrarily replaced the power steering column just to see if that might fix it (it didn't). Ultimately, they could not repair it and it still was unsafe to drive. Despite this-they tried to force me to pick it up and drive away with it. When I refused, they stripped me of my loaner and left me stranded without transportation while corporate continues to ignore me. They accepted zero responsibility and only honored that which the warranty I paid for required of them and even most of that I had to fight for. They refused to supply me with documentation of their diagnostic workup and findings, which is mandated by state law. They did nothing but make this terrible situation they put me in harder. I will never go back to the place. They are all liars. Before I went down there to trade in my lease for a new lease they knew I still had 2 payments on my existing lease. They said they will take care of it before I get the new lease. Which they did not I am paying for a car that I don't have. I called them to see what is going on and they just said I gave you a great deal on the new car. You don't care about that. I don't know about you but money doesn't grow on trees. They all are slimy people and I will NEVER and highly recommend don't ever buy anything from Goodwin Mazda. read more

My wife and I had a very challenging and frustrating experience with Goodwin Mazda Brunswick as we attempted to buy out the lease at the end of the term. Some details of our experience were: 1) Being told that we needed to replace the tires prior to executing the buyout and being given a quote that was $400 more than it would cost if we had simply gotten the same quote directly from their own Service Department. Seemingly, the Sales group will try to take advantage of the opportunity to gouge their customers as part of the sales process. After we pushed back, they agreed to give us the lower price and even offered to sell us the car without having to even replace the tires. This left us wondering if the tires really were an issue at all. Customers should be aware that Goodwin will use the buyout process to extract what they can out of their customers. 2) We were ultimately approved for a loan and given a monthly payment amount. The problem we had was the payment amount didn't add up with what we were told the costs were (which included the Buyout Price, the Documentation Fee, Tags, and Taxes). So, we asked for a simple breakdown of costs via email that would show what the loan entailed. We got no reply to multiple emails and phone messages over the week leading up to the lease termination date. They simply ghosted us and put us in a position that our only option was to return the vehicle and not execute the buyout before the lease ended. It left us wondering if their ultimate goal was that we would return the vehicle so that they could sell it at a higher cost to someone else. They really went out of their way to not let us buy this vehicle. Customers who are in our situation should plan to engage with Goodwin many weeks in advance of their lease deadline date because you run the risk of them simply not replying to your questions and letting the clock run out on you. 3) During the initial conversations with Goodwin about our options, we asked about warranties if we purchased the vehicle. We wanted information about different coverage options and the costs. We received an email from their warranty rep with costs for four different package levels. The problem was that there was inadequate information on what the packages covered. We asked again and ultimately received partial brochure photocopies of exclusions. We really wanted to understand exactly what our coverage entails, and what was provided was not very helpful in that regard. The feeling we got was that they want to get customers in a room and have them make snap decisions about warranties. If you are a customer who, like us, wants to truly understand what you are purchasing for a warranty, you will likely have a hard time if you go to Goodwin. 4) After being ghosted for the entire week leading up to our lease deadline, we had no choice but to return the vehicle on the last day to Goodwin. We tried to make an appointment to do so, but because nobody ever called back, we simply drove two vehicles over 30 minutes from our house to the dealership. When we arrived, we were told that there was nobody who could help us, and we would have to come back another day. 5) We expressed our frustration in an email to the General Sales Manager two days ago and have not yet received a reply. We had wondered if he would reach back out with an explanation or an apology or try to salvage the deal (which we had wanted in the first place). We have not received a reply from him yet. I guess the whole office is just too busy for their customers. Or they simply don't care. We ended up dropping the vehicle off this morning with no good explanation from Goodwin about why our emails and phone calls weren't returned. We were told that messages simply got bounced around to various staff. Our sales rep seemed like a genuinely nice person and was very friendly in our interactions. People and businesses are entitled to a bad effort every once in a while. But purchasing a vehicle in a lease buyout with a firm deadline for tens of thousands of dollars is a big deal. So if you choose Goodwin, be sure to give yourself plenty of time and to be on the lookout for added costs that shouldn't apply to your transaction. read more

My partners money, her choice to replace her Jeep that was wrecked 2 weeks ago. She found nearly the exact same Jeep, just 6 years newer. If I had a choice, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I would have bought anything from this place!! Never experienced a dealer that would do NOTHING to work with you!! Nothing! Wouldn't even install a hitch to sweeten the deal! Then, add insult to injury? They didn't even fill it up with gas! Drove it off the lot with about a 1/4 tank of gas!! The salesman couldn't tell us anything useful about the car! If it wasn't so sad, it would be funny!! I find it amazing at the positive reviews!! I had a great experience here getting service done on a Mazda I purchased Certified Pre-Owned at a different Mazda dealership in NH. To start, I'll say their online appointment scheduler was a breeze to use, and I got a call back in a matter of hours to confirm. Kim was very friendly and helped make sure I signed up for exactly what I needed (60,000 miles service). To my surprise, I get a call from Christeena a little bit later, who explained that because I got it CPO a few months earlier, there may be some services I don't need to do again. It was refreshing to see someone asking about prior service history and helping me figure out what I needed. She was great all around and professional, both on the phone and in email exchanges with me. Lastly, I meet Doug who received me when I arrived on Saturday morning. He helped me figure out I needed a tire lug-nut key specific to my vehicle. Turns out I didn't have it and wasn't given one, but Doug and the great service people there found the time and popped each one out themselves and got me set up with regular nuts. Doug was also professional, and I appreciated the way he set me up with everything I needed. My wait time was right about what they quoted so no surprises there. The waiting room was clean and what you'd expect. A conclusive statement: I liken getting regular maintenance auto service like a coffee shop visit, you get in and you get out, knowing what you want to get and what it costs. I was shocked about the quality of service. I was trying to purchase a new car from this dealership. 2023 CX5 MSRP was $28,500 +Destination fee 1,275 = 29775 I get back to the salesmen office. At that point he said its going to cost me 30,995. I said your math is off. He had to check with his manger for the correct price which still didn't add up. read more

We purchased our car from Goodwin Mazda and had always took it there for maintenance. Never again. First issue, they never have parts on site and it takes them days to get them. Not sure why since I can get them overnight to my house. Second issue. $88.00 in labor to replace a license plate bulb and taillight. Its literally a 5 minute job and when questioned about they tried to play it off by saying they have to pull the whole assembly out. When I pressed them about that they just told me it was a flat rate and everyone does it. Yes all shops have flat rates but both Toyota and Ford have replace taillight bulbs as a courtesy for us ...shoot even VIP has done that for us in the past. VIP of all places. Third issue. Shotty work. When we got the car home I started to do some work on it. We've taken this car to Goodwin regularly for scheduled maintenance and the air filter didn't look like it had been replaced regularly ...maybe it had but the cabin filter had never been touched ...it was in awful shape. At some point they must have tried to pull an ABS sensor because I found they snapped the retaining bolt and just zipped tied it in place. When I take a car to the dealer I expect to pay a little more but also expect better service. Not the case here, so we won't be going back nor will we purchase our next car from Goodwin. read more

This review is on the collision center only. I called ahead to get an estimate and no appointment needed. I stopped by later that afternoon. I explained what i needed, due to to an uninsured motorist hitting me and would need an estimate that broke down pricing. Sandy was the lady who assisted me. She was wonderful!! She was polite and pleasant with a big smile to greet me. She took the time to explain how an estimate is determined and explained the entire process. She walked out to look at the damage right then. She then used to registration and damage information to print out an estimate that broke down everything from parts to labor and each of the cost. The process was quick and thorough. read more

I had just signed up for a quote initially but they were able to get me in and fix my car by the end of the week. They were excellent to deal with, very nice and informative. I can't even rate this place as low as I would like to. Disgusted is an understatement. In 2007 they lost a 35k dollar sale from me over a sunroof in a Tahoe. In 2009 I was going to trade the Tahoe in that I ended up purchasing from Pape in Portland from Pape in 2007. I went into Goodwins again to buy a brand new Tahoe after they located the one I wanted the total was around 68k they said it would be ready in about 2 days. I gave them a deposit and waited the 2 days when I got a call saying it would be another day. After another day I hit another call saying it was caught up in New Hampshire but would be delivered the next morning. We are in day 4 at this point. By day 6 I had to call them and the response I got was that they think it was left at another dealership on accident and they were doing their best to locate it. We are at over 100k dollars in vehicle sales they have let walk away! I told them I was all set I was taking my business elsewhere. In June of this year we found a Cadillac platinum addition and it happened to be at Goodwin's against everything in me that knew better my boyfriend set up an apt to go look at it. He called on a Monday for a Friday apt on Friday I told him on the way to the dealership give them a call to make sure the car is there since they were bringing it from another location. He called and the confirmed it was there. We pulled in and were greeted by a young lady and we told her about the apt we had and the car should be here. She went to get the manager. When he came out he tried to sell us a different car after the managers realized we were not interested in another car he threw his hands up in the air and pretty mush said all well. We got in the car and I drove to the front of the dealership where I went in and asked to speak to the GM. Denis was nice and told us he would "jump through hoops to make this happen for us" he sent a technician to get the car and had it by the next morning. We did all the paperwork and purchased the car at the price they had it listed for no discount was offered for the troubles and the way we were treated. The next day we are getting ready to travel out of state and I hear a thumping noise on the passenger side from wheel it was 5:30pm so I called the dealership to speak with someone since to website says closing at 7pm. I called for an hour with no luck. I called the next morning told the girl we needed to drop the car off we were headed out of state and needed a rental so they could look at the car they called back about an hr later told us to come get the rental. We get the the dealership and they rental is not there when I ask how long it's gonna be before we can get the rental here the guy at the desk won't even look at me and tells me he will get to it when he has a min that they need to have us go for a test drive to see what's wrong. I told him absolutely not we have to be out of state and are late anyway it's very clear what's wrong if you get in and drive it. I also told him how appalled I was to know a technician drive this car before we bought it and talked about what amazing shape it was in and never even noticed this problem. The man at the service desk looked up rolled his eyes and told me technicians don't drive the cars "old retired men do this" my kids were right there or I would have told him what an oddity he was grr 3 days go by and we finally get the car back for 4th of July weekend we are driving up north to be with family and the same thumping is happening. They never fixed it! We took the car to Cadillac in Augusta it cost us 200$ to have them look over the whole car and tell us all the things wrong with it. We bring it bk to goodwin's because we purchased a 5,000$ extended warrantee with this vehicle as well. And they fixed the problem that Cadillac I Augusta had to tell them was wrong. So while it was there in the shop we had a clear shine coat put in which we had to do within so many days of purchase they called us to come get the car and as we were leaving we noticed all on the windshield was some oily stuff we tried to scrub it off but it wasn't coming off we drove the car back to the dealership and they told us to keep the loaner they would get it off they later called and said they were unable to get it off that they would have to replace the windshield! Whoever sprayed the clear coat never cover the windows!! Everything about this place is a joke I will never as long as I live purchase anything with this place I will tell everyone I know what happened! I drive a Mercedes, prime in Scarborough is always very tentative and goes over and beyond for me. I'm not expecting that treatment but at least treat people like humans. read more

I first must say that I hate the car-buying experience. My husband likes to trade in our cars every few years so I have found myself sitting in showrooms cringing at the aggressive sales maneuvers, condenscending attitudes towards women, and sometimes downright rudeness. (We had recently visited a dealer in Augusta, and the young man who was helping us, left us standing in the showroom while he stood outside to take a call on his cell phone. I wouldn't have bought a Matchbox car from him!) A particular event that happens nearly all of the time now after a sale, is the strong-arm request from the salesperson to give them a perfect rating when the after-sales survey appears in your email. All of this makes me dislike the experience intensely and NONE of this happened during our experience at Goodwin's Chevrolet. We went there to check out a 2012 Hyundai Azera that was recently taken in trade. Bruce Giberson, a long-time salesman welcomed us in a friendly way and made us feel like he was there to help us make our decision. There were no canned speeches or agressive tactics, but rather a low-key, genuine attitude that made you feel like you were talking to a friend. He was knowledgeable about the car which impressed me since Hyundai is not their brand, and things we asked him about that he wasn't 100% clear on, he got answers for, right away. Because I don't have the talent or stomach for negotiating, my husband did all of that later on and said he was more than pleased with both Bruce and Dennis Treptow, the Sales Manager. I was present at the financing portion of our purchase and with thoughts of past negative experiences, I was very impressed with Preston Poussard who was both fast and competent and genuinely nice as well, which seems to be the hallmark culture of this dealership! This was a wonderful car purchasing experience and I would definitely recommend Goodwin's Cheverolet of Brunswick to anyone looking for a new or used car. read more

This is a high overview of a poor experience with this dealership. They called me about a Mazda I expressed interest in on their website. I stated I didn't think the sale could happen after a little research I did the day before. Derek advised Mazda has some promotions going on for the vehicle I was looking at and they could work something out. As this is an hour drive for me I expressed the importance of being fairly close on numbers as I didn't want to waste anyone's time. I let them know what I have for a trade in and my price range I was looking for again. He expressed confidence in a possible deal. So the next morning I packed up the family and made the drive. We take a couple of cars out for a test drive and decide we want the car originally interested in. Mind you, we are current Mazda drivers and a fan of the brand. They come back with a number so far off my original price range I knew nothing can be worked out. I stated this to the sales rep who also confirmed my thoughts. I advised the individual of the call I had with Derek. He said "Its Derek's teams job to get people in the door." Needless to say I wasn't happy with that response. Time was wasted and trust was lost. I will not return to this dealership as long as it is their practice to do whatever it takes to get people in the door. read more

Goodwin's Collision Center, although is supposedly a certified volvo repair facility, I DO NOT recommend them. They took 2.5 weeks to repair my volvo - the extra week for a delay due to ordering the wrong part. Their attention to detail leaves a lot to be desired - they failed to align the headlights, they failed to remove all the masking tape from around the gas cap so I was not able to open the cap to gas up, they failed to reset the computer after unhooking the battery so warning lights kept popping up - first the air bag, then park system assist......and I'm sure I'll be discovering more things as I've only had my car back for a week. A different volvo was in an earlier accident and they have yet to call us for the correct part to be installed - they didn't know right from left and had ordered the wrong part....and didn't even notice it when they installed it! 2 strikes they're out. read more
