For the prices being charged this place could do a lot better. Sat down at bar and ordered. Never got silverware or napkin before or after food was served. Had to literally reach over the bar and get them myself. Smoked meat sandwich and fries. Fries were hot, sandwich was not, lukewarm and soggy. Not worth the price at all. Do better. At least the Ottawa Charge hockey game was fun, thankfully. read more

We ate at Bert's restaurant inside of the CTC on March 29th, around 5pm. Delicious food! The chicken tenders were wonderful and the food came super fast. However, we had an unpleasant interaction with a washroom security guard (older woman with short red hair) who accused us of taking too long in the washroom and knocked on the stall door many times, even though we were only in there for a minute or two. She was asking uncomfortably personal questions about what we were doing (while literally on the toilet...) and telling us to hurry up. She then proceeded to wait for us (in the bathroom!!) and gave us a dirty look, claiming that it's her business to know what we are doing in the stalls. It was embarrassing and VERY creepy, given that we were simply using the washroom as normal. read more

Awful food and very expensive.... Waitress was nice though. I got the pulled pork it was very dry I had 2 small bites then tossed it... I couldn't force myself to eat it. It came with tater tots which were actually really good. My friend got the burger also very dry, over cooked like a hockey puck. My other friend had chicken tenders, tenders were okay but her fries where soggy. Maybe it was an off day but for the $$ your paying I was flabbergasted with how little effort they put in their food. read more

Not what it used to be. Excessively loud but thats a sports bar for you. Menu lacks much variety in both food and drink choices. Grilled chicken sandwich was as cold as my drink. i swear it came from the fridge. Sent it back and advised waiter NOT to nuke it and bring it back. Sandwich replaced with hot sandwich but with same fries which were now ice cold. Didnt bother to send it back as the game was starting soon. Walking to my seats i passed many 'fast food' options that looked WAY more apetizing. Im skipping Berts at my next game. read more

My daughter and I are regulars at concerts and non-sports events here, but we've never tried Bert's. We decieded, at the last minute, to make reservations the night before Cheap Trick and Heart. Even with minimal notice, we were still able to get a reservation for 730pm (concert start time was 8pm). We were there about ten minutes early, and despite it being super busy, they still seated us five minutes early. Considering they were probably at capacity, service was great, the staff were very attentive and they had a great hustle! I've had some not-so-hot poutines before, so I stay away from it as a main dish unless I've tried it previously. I played it safe and had a burger and fries. The burger wasn't bad, but very underwhelming, especially considering the price point. My daughter however, made a wise choice and ordered The Senator pizza - WOW was it ever good! The were very generous with the cheese, it made big long strings with every bite and the edges of the pepperoni were crispy - my favorite! But even better than loads of cheese and crispy pepperoni, one of the mangers stopped by our table before our food arrived, just checking in to see how we were doing. I said things were going well, just excited and waiting for our food. He was sharing some of his favorites from the menu - nachos with beef and poutine. I mentioned playing it safe, having not tried the gravy, but I'll give it a go next time. Well, within about two minutes, he brought us hot, fresh side-poutine to try. I was so pleasantly surprised! And he is correct, the poutine is wonderful! The fries were straight out of the fryer when he brought it over, super hot and fresh! The gravy was perfect and there was lots of real cheese curds. I asked our server his name, it's Chi. Chi was just wonderful and really made our experience. He was full of energy, attentive and just very friendly and welcoming. We will absolutely be back before our next concert! read more

My wife and I dropped daughters at the Carrie Underwood concert the other day and spent two or so hours while we waited. We had a couple if beers and a plate of nachos and the staff very kindly allowed us to stay while we waited. The nachos were very good but they didn't had anything on tap because of the hockey strike. read more

Tried Bert's Bar prior to a concert. The service was decent, no more than bare minimum expectations. The food arrived fast and with 2 different dishes both my husband and I found the food a little below average. I had the "all star" burger which had a stale bun and the meat was flavorless (keep in mind this burger is supposed to be char broiled). My husband had the smoked meat and it too was very non tasty...if that's a word. I guess if the service was outstanding, one would be more inclined to give a better review. Overall, average restaurant, average service, average food. read more

We visited Bert's bar on Dec 17th 2016. I made a reservation back in Nov. as my nephew was participating in the Sens experience. We arrived at the restaurant at 3:50pm. The restaurant opens at 4:00pm but apparently that is dependent on if they are ready to open the doors. They finally allowed us in at 4:10. 10 minutes may not seem like long but when you are standing in the cold and wind with small children it is a long time, and frankly unacceptable. The group in front of us was told the kitchen was not ready so we would have to wait. How could the restaurant not be ready on a game day on time is beyond me but there was not even an apology for the wait or any sign they were sorry to have inconvenienced us. We approached the hostess at the desk and gave her our name, and said we have a reservation. A tall gentleman in a sport coat said over her shoulder replied with no you don't. I said yes we do it's for 10 people. The reservation was made on-line. He said well we don't have it so you didn't get a confirmation. I pulled the email confirmation up on my phone and showed him. I never received an apology I was told how he needed a minute because he wasn't staffed for this. Not the way to handle the situation. Our group was then seated at two separate tables. Why make a reservation for a group of 10 to be put at two tables. Our server took our drink order and she was very good and working as quickly as possible, it was clear she had a much larger section that she would normally have, but she did her best. It was 5:25 before our food was served. The food was disappointing at best. My husband and I ordered the French Onion Beef Dip. At a cost of $18.00 for a sandwich it should be better than what my kids would take on their school lunches. To be honest it was a cafeteria or grocery store style sandwich that was toasted and worth $4.00. It was cold by the time it was served; the melted cheese was like cardboard. The meat had little flavor and the Au Jus was a thick gravy. I know because I asked for gravy for my fries and it was the same as what they called the au jus for the sandwich. The serving of fries was small as well. My son ordered the wings and for $15.00 he got 5 wings! An order of nachos was ordered by another in our party. The order was served on a baking sheet and was a generous portion but it was served with one tiny plastic container of salsa and one of sour cream, which is barely enough for 5 chips! There was also very little cheese on the nachos. And after ten chips were eaten the cheese was done. We asked for more salsa and sour cream and after about 10 minutes had to ask again. For the price of the food the skimpy and stingy portions are something the restaurant should be embarrassed about. We could tell our waitress was doing her best and having experience in the industry I could tell her section was larger than usual. The entire experience was made even more dismal as any attempt to phone or contact someone to voice our displeasure with the experience has not even been return or acknowledged. Customer service is very lacking and you certainly get the impression that they don't care as they will fill up anyway so who cares if we enjoyed ourselves or our meal. We will likely not return to Bert's Bar especially because there are so many better option that offer better food and better value so close to the Canadian Tire Centre. read more

At least it is better than the one in Barbados-the benefit to this one is that they don't have Bert Inniss here-he is so rude but I guess in Barbados he thinks he is a star,alot smaller place where he thinks he shines!-he needs to think again. Prices are a little steep, food is typical "roadhouse" fare-sorry to say I wouldn't go back. read more
