Anyway, I called a few roofers out (big name ones) and they came out and looked at the roof. They never walked on it. They blamed the panels. I eventually called Doug and he actually walked on the roof! He looked at the panels and said they looked fine. He said the shingle was old and cracked and the flashings around the ac unit and fireplace looked bad. He also discovered rotten wood from a previous leak I had. He said he could remove the entire roof or do an overlay (new shingle on top of the old). I questioned him and he said he would make it look brand new and it would add insulation. The bid he gave me was excellent, not low but not high. He's been up here for 40 years and I've been up here for 50. Never heard of him but his business is still thriving. That's a very good sign. I hired him. Three young men started on the roof. They were quiet and just worked their butts off. Doug kept in constant communication with me if he needed to say or know something. He fixed all the rotten wood, had my ac unit moved so he could shingle properly, did my flat patio and put brand new vents (O'Hagens) in. The guys painted any metal pieces to match the roof color and picked up all the trash around. Even though the solar panel removal was in their way, they worked around them and completed the job in good time. They did a WONDERFUL job!!! It really does look beautiful and brand new. Doug and his guys were so professional and are top notch roofers. I wouldn't hire ANYONE ELSE FOR ROOFING! I've built 3 homes up here and these guys were the BEST! If you have any questions, need information, or just seem lost when it comes to your roof, this is the place and business to go to. Doug will probably be retiring soon but his son is one of the young men who was on the roof. He's probably taking over, or at least I pray he does. We need to keep this business going. Called them and they responded promptly to repair which I assumed was free but after the repair they charged me over $300 stating it was a flashing leak. So I paid them. On Christmas eve 2025 it leaked again in the same 2 places they had repaired in January causing the same interior damage again, I called and Eugene said they would be out 12/26/25 to take care of it. They never showed up and never called I attempted to call but got no answer. I guess once they have lots of your money you are of no priority to them. Don't trust them. I ended up having it repaired by others.

I went up on my roof and into my attic and could see that there was an issue with flashing around a skylight and also saw what appeared to be leaking where the roof top HVAC unit was mounted. I got a hold of Manny and scheduled an appointment for a quote. Manny came out on the same day. He inspected the roof and gave me his recommendation for a repair and the quote. I liked Manny's plan of action and his price was fair. The plan was to re-shingle around the skylight and the HVAC unit. I received quotes from two other companies, but I decided on Verde Roofing and Exterior because of Manny's plan.
