Don't buy from Best Buy Barrie South. Purchased and IPAD end of Feb , was out of stock and would arrive 5-10 business days from purchase. Time came and went no IPAD , called several times to customer service and trips to the store have produced no product. Last visit to the store resulted in someone coming out to talk with me and ended up her turning her back and walking in the store saying nothing she could do , refused to give her name or call a manager out. I paid for a premium transfer service with their Geek squad. What a screw up. Got called and drove 2 hours to pick up my $ 1,100. computer plus $130.00 for the transfer service. Upon arriving they could not find my old computer so no files had been transferred. Finally found it and waited another 2 hours to have the files transferred. They did not transfer all my contacts. Called and was dropped after waiting 20 minutes on hold. called again and was dropped after waiting for 30 minutes on hold. Called again and was told the wait time was 60 minutes. Purchased an ACER E5-573T-P1LS on 11/13/15 from Best Buy. Had issues with the laptop shortly after getting it and then it stopped working. Took it back to the store and they exchanged it for another E5 on 01/03/16. Everything was fine, until on 10/15/18 my laptop locked up. Rebooted it, but now would get a clicking nose. Took the laptop in for repairs the following day and was informed the hard-drive failed. They couldn't mount it apparently and couldn't access anything unless sent to a lab for data recovery. Paid for assessment and it was a Tier 4 repair. Price ranged from $1350-2250 depending on where you went. Asked if Best Buy would do anything for me as computer isn't even 3 years, and they said no originally and then offered me $200 off. Disheartening as lost everything. Do not purchase this laptop and disappointed the level of service I was offered. read more

I was sold a computer which didn't fit any of my requirements , the computer also was not able to connect to my monitor . The geek squad had me bring the computer back to the store and they were still unable to give me the right cord needed , I was sent down the road to their competitor to buy the part ! I have never been treated more like a number in my entire life . No one is in charge and no one is willing to do any type of customer service or problem solving . If you know exactly what you want the store is acceptable , if your looking for customer service of any kind don't hold your breath , "management" is non existent. Disappointed to say the least and I definitely will not be returning to any best buy location. read more

On Wed Jan 29th, I had the opportunity to go Christmas shopping, without my kids, for my kids. At my kids ages now, it's all about electronics and games. Nintendo Switch to be exact! Not naive to this store, I knew where to go. However, once in the "Nintendo Switch" area I realize that all the boxes were empty, and what I was specifically looking for, I couldn't see. I went up and down isles looking for an associate to help. I couldn't find 1, other than 3 of them standing chatting together at the checkout. I then asked the very nice gentlemen at the front doors if he could call someone. This is when he proceeds to tell me that I must line up at the back of the store by the red balloons. Now, picture the store pretty much empty (literally). Perplexed I ask why? For which he explains that this is the process now to get help. Ugh...so off I march to the back of the store to line up, in a line up where there was absolutely nobody else lined up. I then proceed to stand there for 10 mins! As I'm there, growing more aggravated as I see customers in the store, now getting help, and others entering the store, AND having associates serve them. I see a NEW customers walk in, and approached the associate (the 1 I can see), ask for help, and get help. Finally, I go back to the front and I tell the lovely gentleman at the door (because it's not his fault he's following process) that nobody has come to help me, others are being served and to please call someone for help. At this time (assuming a manager since she's in a black shirt and not blue) has come out around the checkout area and the gentleman explains my challenge and he asks if she can help. Now.............I have NEVER witnessed such rudeness in my life (I'm 48)! As I try to explain to her that I was waiting she literally cut me off with "What is it you need"? Not, I'm sorry for your inconvenience, not sorry were short staffed.......nothing. "What is it you need". Taken back by this I then try and proceed to tell her that I'm looking for a Nintendo Switch but a specific package. Before I then finish this line, she cuts me off again with "If is Odyssey were sold out". With a tone, and with attitude! Seriously.....I'm literally standing there in shock with not knowing how to deal with this attitude. So I continue......"Ok, so do you know if your getting more"? "Probable not, it's a limited addition. So what else can I help you with"? I couldn't believe this!! I have shopped here over and over again, have a credit card with Best Buy, and although I do find the service slow, at least when you get it, they've always seemed helpful. So now, I'm just over this attitude, rudeness and complete disrespected I respond.... "Actually, there is, I'm also looking for Air buds, but since I cannot get over how rude you are and the service I've just received I will find my purchases elsewhere". I then walked out of the store. Let's just say, I did find the Nintendo Switch Odyssey (Walmart in fact...so much for limited addition) for my son, as well as the Air Pods which I purchased online directly from Apple. I'll be cancelling my credit card with Best Buy and I will NEVER shop their again!! That behavior was so unacceptable, and ruined what was supposed to be my evening of fun Xmas shopping. read more

Never in my life have I seen such a poorly run department as the Barrie Best Buy music department. Constantly out of stock and with employees who know absolutely nothing about the music products they are supposed to be selling. "Incase you're not aware NAMM was last week and music stores don't buy anything until March after NAMM" No no no. That is not how it works. Especially with mic stands and mic cables. "I don't know when we are getting that in why don't you try Music Pro down the road." Yes a splendid way to keep a customer. "we just kind of get stuff randomly sent to us from HQ" I tried to explain to them that in retail when you are out of something you order more because obviously it's selling well and good for the business. The price point should be what makes up for the atrocious service but Music Pro (just down the road as they told me) actually has many products for cheaper. read more

bought a brand new hp computer tower at Christmas for $500. not even 6 months and the power suddenly went off and wont power back on. came with a 1 year warranty, so I took it back to best buy this morning. couldn't find the receipt, but they took my phone number when I bought it , so I thought they would have a record of the purchase. girl at the counter searched my phone number and said she couldn't find any record and couldn't do anything for me at all. asked the speak to a manager, all I got was some useless kid from the backroom that said there was nothing he could do to help. guess I should have asked to speak to an adult. asked if he could at least give my a really good deal on a replacement seeing as I got less than 6 months out of the first one, best he could do was offer 10% off. left there and went around the corner to Canada computers on bryne drive and bought a new refurbished hp tower for $199 with a warranty, sure it will way out last the high priced new one from best buy and got better service. best buy on concert way, bottom end off barrie was definitely not the best buy for me. read more
