Walked in to find out about trading in an iPhone which I got the estimate for on their website but the guy was just unwilling to assist and said the value would be zero, even though from checking online BestBuy takes phones even with the back screen cracked. He just had an attitude and said it's up to the store or specifically said it was up to him so I will just ship my trade-in as that is also an option. All time low in service. You have to care to provide customer service. They now have a 3rd party call center in India who knows nothing about Best Buy or Geeksquad, to answer the phone. For almost a year after purchasing a new HP Laptop, I told the store and geek squad that there was a problem; they did not agree. The last time I brought it in they told me I had to pay to have it fixed even though I had never even been able to use the computer. FYI-when it first went in for diagnostics I bought another computer. SO I had to pay twice to get one functioning piece of equipment AND I had paid for the "premium membership" sold that was a waste of time and money. I stopped by here at 1:32pm on a Friday to buy some new AirPods as I had the 1st generation air pods pro and they were acting up. I have a Best Buy credit card and recently got a $135 in Best Buy certificate. What better way to spend it than on upgrading my AirPods?! Lol The store is separated by product type and brands. Apple products are located to the right when you walk in. When I walked in the section, an associate spoke. I told him what I wanted and he told me he had to get them. He left and came back a minute later and I checked out right in that section. We will never buy anything from Best Buy again. Their service after purchase is crap. Paid for installation and test of dishwasher and the installer never completed the hook up and test. After having someone else do the hose connections and trying unit for first time, dishwasher did not complete cycle and is now giving an error message. Called Best Buy and got automated message that I had to call the mfg. Paid over $2300.00 for dishwasher, installation and 5 yr service contract and cannot even get a tech rep to speak with me. Honestly I pretty much reserve by reviews for restaurants but with the excellent service given to me today I needed to put some notes down. Denver was an amazing sales person all three times I came in today. She helped me look for a mouse and sold me a monitor. She help me look for my dad's computer. He wasn't ready to buy. She helped me look for adapters for my computer to run dual monitors. All with a smile. And all while assisting other customers or just giving them a friendly note that she would be right with them. I am in customer service and it would be great to have more people like her. The store was great. Everything was clean everything was well stocked and every employee that I met with had a smile. Was not a fan of this Best Buy location. We came here on a work trip to get a few supplies we needed. Most of the employees could not make time for us, and once they did, were not helpful. Almost each employee said to go to another department and see if those employees could help us or to search there on our own. They didn't have the (basic) IT supplies and peripherals we needed, and thus had to order it from Amazon and have overnight delivery to get it to us in time. I show up and they say sorry warranty is expired! So.... Manager 1 says: call this number and they can extend it a week....1st call 22 mins, they hung up.....2nd call 1hr 8 mins...they kept saying "we are trying to find a supervisor". Manager 2.....Nice, but goes get another manager. Then they say "sorry we cant help unless you go through calling". My question is what do they have Managers for in the store if not to help customers???? I said they wont talk to me on the phone, so.....asked for District manager name and number "Oh we are not allowed to give that out"..... BEWARE.....$500 camera is now a paperweight. I scheduled arrival time and a setup appt. with Geek Squad, but then had to reschedule a few times more shortly thereafter. Fast forward to today - 2 weeks later - and I get a call from Geek Squad saying that my tv is not available! After calling the Greensboro store and getting nowhere fast, I chatted with someone who was totally useless. I then called the 800 number and waited about 30 minutes to speak to someone, and I cancelled my remaining order and got pre-paid label to ship the other back to Best Buy. While waiting, found the tv model at Amazon and Walmart for $200 cheaper! Boy, I have always disliked Best Buy and now I remember why! read more

I hate to continue to write negative reviews, but it seems that many businesses just don't seem to care anymore about customers. I understand that labor is in short supply, but that doesn't excuse treating customers like dirt! I phoned Best Buy yesterday, apparently spoke with their call center (this is what the guy at the Greensboro store told me) and made an appointment for this morning to have my dashcam, which I received as a Christmas gift, installed in my vehicle. Honestly, I had no idea from where my wife bought this gift, and since it wasn't mentioned to me otherwise by the call center contact, assumed that Best Buy did dash cam installations (whether you bought the product from them or not). So, I drive 10 miles to the store, arrive in plenty of time, and the guy tells me he can't find my appointment. I hand him my printed reservation. After searching through his computer, he finally says that my appointment has been cancelled (not by me). The employee says that it is the call center's fault and they reserved a time with an installer who is no longer an employee of Best Buy. He then looks at my unopened dash cam box and tells me that Best Buy wouldn't install this anyway because it looks like it was purchased through Amazon (claiming they've had problems in the past installing Amazon dash cams). So, why is this all MY problem? The call center didn't ask me if I purchased the product from Best Buy. How would I have known the employee scheduled for the installation no longer worked there? So, my time (roughly 1-1/2 hours) and 20 miles round trip to the store and back means nothing to Best Buy. I'm just SOL. What would good customer service look like to me in this instance? Maybe offering a sincere apology is a good start. Then maybe asking if the unopened package could be returned to Amazon for credit, and he'd help me get with an associate to pick out an alternate in-store dashcam. And, since I was already at the store, seeing what could be done to fit me in for an installation this morning. But, then again, that would have been expecting exceptional customer service!!!! read more

I arrived at lunch for an appointment I made a week ago through the Apple Support app to have the damaged back glass replaced on my XS Max. The app only gave me an appointment time with no indication of how long it might take. Though I've had similar work done on other phones while I waited, this became my first question when I checked in for my appointment. The lady that helped me was pleasant and very politely told me it would be three hours. Come again? Three hours? To replace the back glass? She informed me that they first had to run a lengthy diagnostics process to ensure nothing else is wrong with the phone. What this ultimately equates to is me giving them my password and leaving my unlocked phone in their possession for three hours to replace the back glass. Meanwhile, there's loads of sensitive and proprietary information and photos all over my phone from work. Sure, I could've gone through the painful and tedious steps of removing everything in advance, but don't feel I should have to for a cracked back glass. And no, I had no reason to believe anyone at Best Buy would have malicious intent, but I wouldn't necessarily bet my career on that. This aside, my biggest gripe by far is the three hours. It doesn't make sense to make an appointment a week in advance to leave my phone for roughly half the work day. Surely there's a better way? read more

I walked in looking for a Yeticaster and honestly didn't think it would be in stock but since I was out and near the store I figured it couldn't hurt to look and see. I waved in and was greeted and went straightforward the area where I knew the microphones were. It wasn't on the shelf and right when I was about to walk away a gentleman stopped me and asked if I was finding everything ok. Well since you asked I proceeded, do you happen to have the Yeticaster in stock? He pulled out his phone and checked the back and to my surprise they had one in the store! He brought it to me and when I turned around to get his name he was gone. So glad he stopped and asked me if I was finding what I needed. Otherwise I would've left without it. Such a disappointment. I went in to buy an iPad Pro and the protective gear. I was there for 20 mins. I was standing by the apple section to get attended to and nothing. After 10 mins of me looking around trying to find an employee, a security officer who was "undercover" pointed at me and my brother. Me thinking that I could use the help, instead was pointing out that I might steal. Why do I think this? Because after the employee left talking to the security guard, instead of coming to me, they went to the back. I go here for most of my electronic needs. The people are nice and not pushy to sell. They are knowledgeable too. I go here instead of the Apple store, too, when I need Apple products after finding my experiences to be better here. I got to the point that I got so many items that Best Buy put me on a special extended, extended return policy. If you buy enough, they will extend the return policy significantly. Although I do not use this often, I have used it once. It is nice to know that I have extra time if things do not work out as expected. Also once I got a window air conditioner for a special room at my place. They installed it too. It turns out it was too humid with it on. They came back, disassembled it for free, returned my money, and even the installation money. I was very satisfied, and ended up coming back another time to get something else. We must be in the minority because we don't want to be approached by a salesperson while we look at the products. We already have an idea of what we want and rarely need help in picking it out. It is true that, once you have found what you want, you have to seek a salesperson out for help getting it but we've been twice and that wasn't that hard to do. On our first trip, the salesman in the photography department was chatting with me and told me that they have free classes on digital photography on Saturdays. On our second trip in, a young man named London helped us get our purchase from where it was secured and assisted us all the way through to the door. We picked his brain about drones and he had a lot of information. Very nice man. He even suggested a spot for us to have lunch and gave us directions. I saw a lot of negative reviews about curbside pickup at this store but my experience was a positive one. I arrived before the store even opened and they were already helping people parked in the curbside spots. There were a lot of people too! My wait was not more than 15min. The only thing I'd warn people about is to be patient for your order to get ready after you place it online. Online it said my order would be ready within an hour. I placed the order Saturday night and received the notification it was ready for pickup on Monday morning. The actual pickup process itself was surprisingly smooth and organized, despite what other reviews said. Maybe they have taken measures to improve their process, I would order curbside here again. read more

Worst Best Buy ever, if I could give this 0 stars I would. I decided to use Curbside Pickup since I live 15-20 minutes away. I get there and wait an hour and half, no updates when the email said it would be ready in 45 minutes when I place the order (it's just 1 item). Tired of waiting, I finally go inside talk to the cashier and she tells me they're busy and understaffed and my single item won't be available until TOMORROW. I ask her if I can just go grab the item and she tells me I would have to rebuy the item and it'll take 2-3 days for my online transaction to be refunded. My last visit was horrible and this was even worse. Please treat this Best Buy as a LAST RESORT! If no other store can help you or if the sale is just that good then sure come but for ANYTHING else don't come here. read more

I've been to this best buy twice to buy gaming laptops and nobody comes to help me. Might be discriminated as I come to the store with a tshirt and shorts. I arrived 10/12/19 at 11:33 AM went to the computer section to browse. The only contact I had was with one lady asking if I needed help initially, I declined as I am tech savy. I was browsing the various laptops and found one that I like but not the specs I was looking for. I was looking for someone to check if they had a specific model since the specs weren't listed on one of the info cards but it was listed online as in stock. The only guy working in the computer area ignored me and went to another customer even when I tried to wave him down. I went back to the same lady and she looked it up for me. I tried to pay with paypal but that isn't an option at checkout so I had to order using online pickup. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to add an employee that helped with the process, I would of added the lady that helped me. I'm not sure if sales works on commission or not but it would of been nice to add her. I left and ordered using my phone and went to go eat. I came back at 12:29 pm and picked up my laptop. The guy working at pickup didn't look to see what I ordered and picked up some random item from the shelf and started asking for my id multiple times. I told him that I bought a laptop, he went back to get it which took sometime. I showed him my id and left at 12:37 pm. If sales does work on commission they sure left some money on the table when they ignored me. Laptop was $1,814.74 and I'm an elite best buy member as well. He made multiple trips into the store to try to figure out what happened. And then he explained to me the mistake I had made, and told me how to do it correctly next time. I left the curbside pick up area and went to another section of the parking lot to re-order. He came running out of the store abs found me to give me some more helpful information.
