Geek Squad was very knowledgeable in the laptop I bought from here four years ago (discontinued), not to mention general facts about their processes and services. Best part is that their consultations are free, including quick fixes they can do in store! Most hardware repairs have to be sent to Best Buy's repair facility, so will take an absolute minimum of four days. They do guarantee official new parts. I purchased a freezer online with the website saying it would be available for pickup as soon as the afternoon I ordered it. Very misleading because once I purchased and paid for it, it said it would be there by the upcoming Thursday. I found help to move the freezer and borrowed a truck for the specific purpose of picking it up. It never came in. The phone number for the store is a joke. They send it directly to some overseas call center and won't connect you with someone on the spot at the store you order from. The customer service at the store location helped me setup another authorized pickup person but other than that were also not very useful in telling me when my freezer would get in. Still haven't gotten the freezer but I'm strongly considering canceling my order and buying from somewhere that will fulfill my order in the timeframe they promised at checkout. What happened to Bestbuy, this place used to have great customer service, totally gone down hill. Every visit just gets worse. Went in today to see employees walking around in a trance not helping anyone. I'm literally looking around for someone to assist me, employees are trying not to make eye contact, I finally get someones attention he tells me they are very busy but can get someone over to help and will probably be a 15 minute wait, looking around the store they didn't seem busy, I didn't see any employees with a customer, looks like all the customers were on their own to figure things out. Learn to recognize BAD BUSINESSES when you see them. Read the reviews on this store. There are several about the nonexistent customer service/care. The primary reason for this is the practice of understaffing the store. During covid these big box chains got away with poor service and a minimal staff. That said these box stores have adopted the practice of not hiring sufficient employees to properly serve the public. What they are doing is profiting from wasting your invaluable time. They have realized its much easier and efficient to waste your time by making you stand around waiting than it is to pay an additional employees wage and benefits. Your time is the most valuable thing you have in this life. Once that time is spent, it can never be replaced unlike dollars. The employee is being paid for spending his time at his place of employment, you are not being paid to stand around at his place of employment wasting your time. What is the consequence of wasting consumers time and placing a heavier workload on an employee that likely makes minimum wage? That employee will either quit or more likely they will start only doing the bare minimum required of them to keep that job. The result... employees avoid customers, angry customers, angry managers, poor reviews, lost revenue, lost customers, etc... Please learn to recognize this practice when you see it here in Lincoln and call these businesses out on their unethical practices and behavior. Shopping at Best Buy has become the most unpleasant experience. You've completely lost focus on the customer. I have two such examples from the past month. First, I recently attempted to purchase two TVs. Upon bringing them out to my car, the employee told me that the TV warranties would be voided and wouldn't be eligible for return since they didn't fit upright in my vehicle. So, I canceled the online order. Then, I drove over to Target, where I purchased the same TVs. The Target employees happily loaded them into my car and didn't hassle me. Second, I stopped at Best Buy tonight and attempted to purchase two Ring indoor cameras. Every other Ring product was out on shelves, including the camera I wanted, but in white. For some reason, the black version of the camera was locked behind glass. I was told it would be a 20-minute wait just to have someone unlock the case. So, once again, I left and went to Target, where they don't force their customers to stand around for 20 minutes to complete a 5-second task. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I used to love Best Buy. Good help on the sales floor and Geek Squad was helpful and fairly prompt. I purchased a Geek Squad service contract that was nice insurance for help and repairs. NOW HOWEVER, when I needed help and took my iMac in for service, I had to make an appointment that was 11 days out! That is a long time. I went next door to Computer Hardware Inc and received help in 5 minutes. I found out what was wrong and decided I needed a new computer. They applied the diagnostic fee toward the computer, gave me good advice and I picked up my new iMac with a solid state hard drive installed the next day. Once again, 7-15-22. Went to this bestbuy to purchase a wacom drawing tablet. Went directly back to the computer section and waited for an employee because there were none anyplace to be seen in the computer department. FInally after 15 minutes i walked back to the front door greeter and asked if she could call someone to help me. She called an employee and told him i needed help in the laptop department. He told her he would be there as soon as he put a couple of computers away. I returned to the computer section and waited and waited and waited. Then a woman customer approached to look at items on the shelf beside me. I waited and waited and finally the kid comes waltzing along, asks the woman if he can help her, helps her for 5 minutes, she grabs the item she wanted and the kid walks away leaving me standing there once again with my service dog. I am disabled and i can only assume at this point that its discrimination because this same scenario plays out everytime im in this store. I was in an accident in 2013 which disabled me so my head is covered with scars and unsightly to some i suppose. At this point i will be contacting the DOJ to do an investigation on this particular store because i simply do not see others being treated the way they treat me when i try to shop here. For those not aware, the Department of Justice handles enforcement of the Americans with disabilities Act which prohibits discrimination against persons with disabilities. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. Purchased an Apple iPad that came damaged and was told there was nothing they could do about it. It was within the return/exchange time period and had all of the original packaging (the charger cord hadn't even been unwrapped yet) and they still didn't do anything. I wasn't asking for my money back, but rather a replacement. If you're going to buy an expensive tech product, this is not the place to do it...they don't stand behind their products and they aren't respectful to their customers. May I also mention the person at customer service had me take my screen protector off of my damaged iPad as well as wiping all of my info off of this BEFORE they told me they wouldn't exchange it... I went into Best Buy a month ago because I needed to replace a projector in my theater room. I was told their Geek Squad would come out to evaluate the room in order to make a recommendation on the best projector for the room. The consultant showed up at the scheduled time and said he would get back to me with the plan within 2 days. After a lot of back and forth I still do not have a finalized plan. I went into Best Buy the other night to talk with a manager and he said he would talk with GM the next morning. He promised me someone would follow up with me the next day. I did not receive a call as promised by the manager. Examples are set by the top down and it is obvious when the Best Buy management does not follow-up with customers they have set a poor example for the Best Buy employees. Have been very happy with Best Buy providing a satisfying experience while making some major purchases for my projects. Their attention to detail, excellent customer service and quality products is why Best Buy is my first choice always. I bought a 64" LG OLED TV and the Geek Squad built me a awesome computer with (2) 24" monitors, speakers, camera and microphone providing all equipment to start up my YouTube channel. After purchasing my equipment, I invested in the Best Buy membership (very worth it) where I have tech support available at all times. They came out to my house to set up my computer and hang my television on the wall. The Tech Support is very knowledgeable and I have complete confidence in their advice and expertise. The major observation I witnessed is that the Store Manager; Katie Galyen, is a good manager. What I appreciate is that Katie is usually standing at the entrance greeting customers, qualifying needs, and radioing the appropriate team member to service the customer. I've been a fan of Best Buy for many years. However, the Best Buy in Lincoln has really gone downhill. The new store is nice looking, but the employees don't seem to be well trained and generally don't seem to care about providing help. Now, there are certainly exceptions. In fact, I went in the other day and after struggling to find help for quite some time, the person that checked me out was exceptionally helpful and relational. That was a pleasant surprise. I spent over 1400.00 on a G Series Asus here at this Best Buy. I notably had issues with it two days after I purchased it. The screen would go black and took quite a long time to boot. I took the computer back and they stated it was a problem with updates, so I took their word for it and took it home. I continued to have problems with speed. Fast forward 20 days later and the computer was stuck on the Aptio set up utility. I contacted Asus and they stated this indicated that the system was not communmicating with the hard drive. This happened on Thanksgiving day. I waited until Best Buy opened after 1700 and took the computer back. The Geek Squad was closed down as was their ability to take returns was also shut down. They were only set up for sales, which is quite disgusting. I was told, nonchalantly that no one was there to help me. This is highly unprofessional and is not the right way to conduct customer service and will not be doing business here ever again. I hope these folks give me a much deserved refund since it's been over the 20 day return policy that Best Buy has. read more

Horrible service and the staff did not know what they were talking about for being so called "tech experts". I came in before I moved into my first apartment to get a cable modem and router. The guy found me the most expensive thing he could that was a combination unit to me it was good, though I had never heard of the brand. And so I trusted their expertise. I went over to Office Depot where I had a friend working and he said it was kind of the worst things I could have bought, and it wouldn't even be what I needed. Plus the router I saw there was $50 cheaper than the same one at best buy. Returned it. Which that was a horrible experience, got the third degree of why I was returning it. Yeah. I love Best Buy. Who doesn't love to walk around and look at the new shiny tech items. Their prices are a little high but now that they price match amazon and other stores, I prefer to shop at Best Buy. I usually get good service but then again, I don't shop there on December 24th at 5pm either. There is nothing better then playing with the latest Samsung tablet or looking at the new laptops, new HDTVs and checking out the latest movies. The rewardzone also is a nice bonus, $5 back after every $250 spent. Not great, but its a nice bonus if your going to buy something anyway. I like this store better then the 48th and R St. Location because they cut out the music section and it doesn't take 20 min to walk from one side to the other, especially if you are trying to find your wife or kids in the store! read more

For your Apple computer needs in Lincoln, simply go to the very tiny store behind Best Buy called Computer Hardware. They sell and repair Apple computers there and actually act like they appreciate your business. With regard to appliances, stay local and visit Schaeffer's. They have been a longtime Lincoln presence and have a repair department to back up what they sell. Otherwise, consider Costco which on some items add another layer of product protection. My first experience was with the geek squad my phone screen head went completely black but I was still getting notifications so I figured it was just my screen that was wrong well the man Did the diagnostics on it and because he wasn't able to turn off a certain thing that needs to be turned off to run a diagnostics diagnostics correctly he said that my whole phone was bad and so I made an appointment to go up to Apple in Omaha get up there they hard reset my phone then do the diagnostics test comes out it's just the screen so luckily I had insurance because it ended up only being $25 instead of $100 but come on you should know better that was a waste of time that you could've just fix my screen right then and there. Brought my husband's iPhone here to have the battery checked. Found it needed to be replaced which was covered by AppleCare. Tech said it would take a couple of hours. When we got it back the cover was all scratched up along the top edge. We pointed it out. The tech said they didn't do it. The phone was worn when we brought it in, but not scratched. You could tell the gouges were fresh. Tech offered to send it into Apple to see if they would cover it but also stated that there was no way to prove they did it. Unsatisfactory resolution.
