Horrendous... Store 832, 3294 University Town Center Drive Morgantown, WV 26501. I Purchased a $600.00 Lap Top, passed on all extras except a quoted price of $99.00 for data transfer. Geek Squad Member gave me the same sales spiel for additional services which I quickly rejected. Then I was told the data transfer would cost $245.00 and I related that I was quoted $99.00 by the sales person, to wit the GSM said point blank that the GS had no affiliation with Best Buys and was under no obligation to honor the quoted price from Best Buys and that the sales person was in error and there was nothing he could do. The salesperson was summoned and excoriated for not knowing the actual cost of the data transfer and after a brief discussion between the two they came back with a $200.00 quote for data transfer, which I quickly rejected. I was told that nothing further could be done so I returned the Lap Top and left the store. The Sales person was extremely knowledgeable about the product so I found it highly suspicious that he misunderstood the data transfer costs. In addition the GSM was condescending, surly and disrespectful, he spoke over me and refused to let me finish a sentence. So, Apple iPhone screen is frozen and called to make an appointment with the Geek squad. Walked into the store and was immediately greeted and asked what could she help me with. Mentioned to her my 6pm appointment and she instructed me where to go and wait. Once Andrew was finished with his earlier customer, he began to help us. Wow! So very happy he was working that evening. Andrew is very knowledgeable, very helpful, and he explains options clearly. During a diagnostic test (which takes about 30min)., I ask if we could leave & eat & return. He said yes, we did, & when we returned, the iPhone condition was discussed with us. Sadly, the iPhone was unable to be totally revived, but Andrew was able to get the iPhone to a point that we could work with it. Thanks, Andrew! I bought what was supposed to be a brand new Apple Watch. I got home and the box had already been opened. Contacted them via chat on their website. I got nothing but sarcastic, rude "help". Ended up having to drive back the next day and return the watch and accessories for a refund. The young lady (Sierra) helping with the return began to belittle me and said I was wrong. I explained I just wanted my money back. Sierra finally processed the return but no without her embarrassing customer service skills and entitled attitude. I have never been treated so rudely from all departments except upon purchase, which was not the new Apple Watch I thought I got. Be careful! I have actually had some pretty good experiences with this BestBuy, but I have gone there two days in a row to buy a TV only to find no one to wait on me. That's really disappointing. Yesterday I waited half an hour. After 15 minutes, one guy approached me, but he was with another customer and said he would get to me when he was finished. I waited another 15 minutes and then left. Today, I waited ten minutes without anyone even saying hi. I did see a customer rep working with a customer in the BIG TVs but that was far away... not his fault. I just didn't want to wait any longer. I'm not sure where I'm headed, but I definitely am looking to upgrade to a Smart TV. Perhaps I need to wait for some of those holiday deals. They will probably have extra help then. read more

Nine years ago I bought a home theater setup and had it installed by this Best Buy. One of the techs drilled a hole through my wall, through the insulation to the outside wall, and through my outside siding. It was a sight to behold. Now, almost a decade later, I hired them again. When will I learn? I was told verbally and in writing that the install package I bought included programming a Harmony remote. When the installer showed up, I was told this was not the case. So went this evening to the Best Buy store and spoke to Chris, who is The Geek Squad manager. He confirm that what I was told and what I had in writing (my actual order) was not correct. What I didn't tell Chris is that I was about to place another $4,000 order. Clearly, I will find a new place. Please stay away from Best Buy installation. You'll thank me later. read more

We went to Best Buy today because my wife's laptop was acting up. I was looking for a hard drive, but was open to buying a new laptop if my wife decided she wanted one. One thing that's important to her is that a new laptop's touchpad have a scroll bar or slider; it's just the way she prefers to work. We were looking at a nice new Lenovo, and we could get it to scroll occasionally but not consistently. When I called one of the techs over I explained what my wife wanted and asked if there was a way to adjust the touchpad to scroll in Windows (I'm a Linux guy). He told me he didn't know, that if we wanted a laptop with that feature we'd have to find one set up like that by trying them out, and that frankly, it wasn't important enough for him to have paid much attention to which ones might have this feature. I'm not in sales. But I figure that if a customer comes in willing to spend a few hundred bucks, and the only thing they're worried about is one small detail, that ought to be what you focus on. Maybe not being a snippy, self-important ass might help sales as well. We bought a hard drive because we needed one, but we'll be dropping several hundred bucks for a laptop somewhere else. read more

This location has matched what I've come to expect from every other Best Buy I've visited across the country: an oblivious, disinterested staff who's more concerned with hiding from customers to chat and joke amongst themselves than assist anyone. If you can trap one into a corner long enough to ask a question, he will sigh impatiently for interrupting his gossip-fest, then reveal his contempt and ignorance for his job by shrugging his shoulders and telling you he doesn't know...to any question you may ask. This location was impressive at how much worse the salesmen were. Best Buy clearly does NO TRAINING for its employees. Anywhere. Other locations hire people with better attitudes, but they are always equally unimpressive in any job knowledge. The ONE time I met an employee who actually did know technical specs of the electronics he was selling was because he acquired the knowledge on his own, outside of work. Nice products, but the floor salesmen should all be fired. Keep a cashier on hand and security to prevent theft. Everyone else in this company chain is a waste of money. read more

Had some issues at the store but the manager of the mobile department took responsibility and was very professional. Best Buy phone support (nothing to do with the Granville store) is terrible, however. I have now spent over four hours on the phone, with customer support, being bounced from department to department, with no resolution in site. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau over the terrible support, and will not be shopping at Best Buy again. read more

I initially tried to put my PC together myself, which is normal for someone who is 22. I messed up the motherboard so I went in to have geek squad take a look at the issues on August 29th. They initially made it sound like they would be able to get it completely running smoothly in 3-5 days so I agreed to it and let them take my computer and I purchased their Total-Tech plan. After 8 days of not hearing anything from them they messaged me saying they needed me to call them. I tried calling them and it directed me to Louisiana. I then went in because it was impossible to call into the store without knowing the store code. They made me feel like the reason why it was taking so long was because I decided to work on it myself initially. One of the associates named Adieb was extremely helpful and told me how to call geek squad at this location directly. After this, I kept in contact with them myself because they obviously weren't making an effort on their end. Eventually they told me what I thought was the problem initially and asked me to purchase a new motherboard. I paid them immediately and it took them 5 more days to fix that. I finally got my computer back on September 15th. It took them 17 days to fix my computer. I can speculate why this occurred but the point is I paid somebody to fix my computer, I the customer should never be blamed for why it is taking so long especially when they aren't communicating with me. This was the worst customer experience of my life and I am going to try to seek compensation for the Total Tech care because this is not what I paid for. read more

We have never had issues with this store until recently. I am not sure if they have had a change in management or quality employees are lacking, but I will not go to this store again. This started with my husband in the appliance department. He was wanting to purchase an item that he could not find. He approached a sales associate in another department and asked for assistance in the appliance department. This associate attempted to assist, but admitted that he was not familiar with the appliances and would try to find someone to assist my husband. My husband waited approximately three minutes when the same sales associate returned and stated that he couldn't find anyone to help. (YES, THAT STATEMENT IS CORRECT!) In the meantime I was asking to speak to a manager at the front of the store due to my experience. I had items to purchase and couldn't find anyone at the front registers. I waited and then took my items to the Customer Service area, where I was told that the one assistant was clocking out and the Returns area could check us out. In all fairness the assistant that had clocked out did say that she would assist, but she was obviously so unhappy that I told her never mind. Am I wrong to ponder why it was so hard to PURCHASE something? I started reading some of the other reviews and realized that customer service seems to be a recurring issue at this store. This did surprise me because of previous positive experiences. My suggestion would be for the store to rethink the training program and spend sometime on the importance of customer service. read more

Purchased a camera on 12/30/18 and was told if I didn't like the camera within 15 days, I could return it. The camera just wasn't the quality I was looking for and if you don't try it, you don't know. So I decided it wasn't the exact thing I was looking for and we lived 45 min away, so on my husbands way to work he could exchange it for the one I wanted. Every company has you to sign for their merchandise when you pick it up. Period. So he returned the camera on 1/2/19 in EXCHANGE for the one I wanted. Upon the return, I was charged $67 dollars restocking fee. We were not told this when I bought it or I would of never purchased it there in the first place. The salesman never told us that. He said, if you dont like it, just return it within 15 days. There is nothing on the sales receipt stating that either. I will never purchase anything from them ever again. If I could give negative stars I really would. I have had more problems with this company than I ever thought possible. Bought 4 large appliances from them in the last few months and had their team members and managers lie to me about the products each time causing me to have to return them or get them repaired as they sold me faulty equipment. The manager Chris even tried to tell me he woudn't do anything for me since he "gave me a great deal" by discounting the completely broken washing machine for me. The team member who "helped" me told me it was in great condition and the only thing wrong with it was that it had a small scratch and a sticker on it and was missing the manual and hardware package...pretty obvious they didn't even check it out as the hardware package and manual were literally inside the unit when I opened the door. Also bubble wrapped it so poorly that I had 30 foot trail of bubble wrap flying behind my truck almost causing an accident and resulting in me getting pulled over within the first half mile of leaving the store. Got home and installed it and it proceeds to shake so violently that it ripped out of the wall and walked across the room and ripped the cord out napping the prongs off in the outlet. Chris lied to me yet again telling me if i got the geek squad protection they could fix it...after several hours on the phone and the worst customer service ever it turns out you aren't allowed to use the geek squad protection on Samsung products until the manufacturer warrantee is over so I was conned out of $75 dollars as samsung has a 2 year warrantee and the geek squad protection is a 3 year deal... so either he intentionally lied or doesn't know anything about what he is selling. The rep on the phone said that to compensate me for the damages to my basement and all the time i wasted dealing with this crap they would be kind enough to replace the washing machine and pick up the old one. All i would have to do is pay them the difference in price of the new one, pay for the delivery of the new machine, and carry the broken 250# machine to the curb for pick up and then they would sell me the new machine for $72 off the $719.99 machine as compensation...coincidentally it's my wife's birthday this month and for her birthday she gets...(wait for it...) $72 dollars off the same machine for her birthday reward! So to compensate me for my time, damages, being lied to, conned into buying a protection plan they won't let me use, and being tricked into buying a broken machine they would be courteous enough to give me the amazing discount of FULL PRICE...this is the worst service I have ever received or ever heard of and I have been in the customer service industry for over 20 years and seen some terrible things. Will never ever ever patronize this location again and will make sure to guide everyone I see away from them and share my experience with everyone I can so they don't have to have the same experience as me. Good thing for best buy that I only have a few hundred people a day come through my business that I can share it with. read more

Terrible experience and will never recommend this store. Possibly this is true of Best Buy in general. Elderly parents bought a dryer. Agent who installed it admitted he didn't know anything about dryers. The dryer malfunctioned, and Best Buy refused to help at all. They said that we had to call the manufacturer to get service. This was within a few days of purchasing the dryer. It took alot of effort and time to get ahold of the manufacturer to get service, and the service appt never occurred (no show). In meantime, we were running out of time on 14 day exchange. Furthermore, the store never explained to my parents that it was an EXCHANGE OR RETURN POLICY, not a return AND exchange policy. I called corporate about this, and the customer relations person told me that 1) first, BB should have sent out technical assistance and not told us to go thru the manufacturer, and 2) should have explained the exchange/return policy better. Furthermore, due to BB failure to help us get technical assistance, repair assistance was delayed by many days, so as the 14 day deadline approached, my elderly parents panicked and thought they would be stuck with a $600 fancy dryer that didn't work. So they got in the car and drove to BB in person to resolve the issue. My parents are frail and 81 and 86 years old. They told me that they were very poorly treated by the staff at the store: the staff was rude and belittling. They aren't even sure if they were able to talk w/ a manager. Finally, my parents were able to strike a deal to return the dryer and get their money back (this was within the 14 day window). However, the experience dealing with this unprofessional and poorly-trained and poorly- instructed staff was horrible. Customer relations apologized to me for this store. By the way, I tried to call the store several times, and was on hold and never able to speak to anyone at all. I stayed on the line 60 minutes one time and then the call cut off on me. BB pretty much lost my entire extended family from this debacle. My advice to BB: hire professional people to work your stores, and train them properly. Realize that if you don't, you won't have repeat customers. Also, train your staff to answer the phone! read more

This Best Buy has all the same stuff as any other, but what makes it only three stars to me is how difficult it is to get help in the computer department, even when it is not busy. Every time I go, it seems multiple people are tending to the same customer, and do not even stop to acknowledge that they see you are waiting for help. This most recent time I only had a quick question to ask if a certain product existed, and despite eye contact with multiple associates, it still took a while to receive help. There is no system either for addressing customers on busy days; even waiting at the desk does not guarantee you to be the next helped, no matter your wait time. I still shop there but do my research first so that I don't need an associate. read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. Let me begin to tell you about my experience... I ordered a Zagg Invisible Shield screen protector for my brand new iPhone 7plus, paid for 1 day shipping since my phone would be here the same day and my credit card was charged 2 times for the same thing. I called customer service, they had no record of my order (no surprised since you can't understand a word any of them say). So today I go to the store and ask to return the screen protector since it serves no purpose cause my iPhone 7plus screen cracked with it on from a fall of less than 2". (Again, no Best Buy issue, that is another story..) they try to process my return and notice I was charged $12 more than what my receipt showed but this guy Scott that works there told me I somehow altered it and was lying about my purchase. He became very condescending and when I asked him if he worked for a bank branch he told me to leave the store. I refused and would not leave without a refund.. he became very nervous and sweating and stuttering because he knows he was wrong and rude to me. This place is ridiculous and I will never give them another penny or the gum off the bottom of my shoe.
