I saw that a headset I was eyeing was finally on sale at Best Buy. I went in store to check out what it looked and felt like in person. There were a lot of employees working that night and they were all customer service focused. We were greeted warmly by a few of them and asked if we needed help. One gentleman helped us lookup whether they had items in stock and walked us over to the section. Went to buy a TV and was not sure what to get. I was kind of iffy about selecting a not so well known brand but the staff was very helpful in explaining the different options. Rudest and most unprofessional manager. During a phone call with Best Buy's (BB) Geek Squad (GS) I requested compensation for the delay/ frustration for approx. 3 months of waiting (while paying GS $30++/mo). I was told empathically to discuss this with the Oakville branch. At Oakville GS, I requested reimbursement. The staff (Staff A) said that their store is not responsible for reimbursement and the delays which he referred to as the "normal" process. I told him that while I understood, it took BB GS approx. 3 months and numerous phone calls on my part. Staff A called his manager. I repeated my request when the manager stood in front of me (she didn't greet me and just stood diagonal to me, behind the counter). The manager repeated what Staff A said. I told her that I know it's not their fault but that I was told to discuss the reimbursement with them and that their store was part of BB's GS. Since it was turning into a debate, I conceded and told the manager that it's fine re: no compensation but it would have been better if she empathized and said "I am sorry for your experience..." The manager then interrupted me and engaged in a series of BLAME SHIFTING in a very condescending tone. 1) She said I should have brought the device to the store for an expedited process. ---So now it is the customer's fault for the long wait. I told her another BB GS told me 3 months ago, either one will be the same speed. 2) She then told me that I was sounding defensive. ---This manager surely knows how to ESCALATE a situation. Where's the customer service training/ de escalation techniques? 3) Then, the manager accused me of pointing at her.---This manager is not petite, at least 6 ft tall and robust. To point at her would entail a concentrated effort to raise my arm and gesture my finger to her face---which I was NOT doing, I was naturally moving my hand while talking. *At this point the BLAME SHIFTING is just ridiculous. So frustrated, I then blurted "They really should hire more non-white managers." The manager's heightened response was: "Are you racial profiling me?!" "Did you hear that?!," she asked Staff A who had his head down but enthusiastically nodded his head. (NOTE: A white person, much more so a retail manager, should not be shaming a person of color who declares this. If this manager were aware of her WHITE PRIVILEGE, she would not resort to abuse tactics like BLAME SHIFTING and would've utilized EMPATHY and CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS.) Demonstration of POWER (/STRUGGLE): the manager tried to deprive me of claiming my credit. She said she will send my credit to another store then insisted that I would NOT want to be helped by her staff. I told her that I, THE CUSTOMER, WANTED to be helped by the staff. *Thankfully, Sean (Staff B) provided great customer service despite what transpired between myself and his manager. Moreover, the staff of Apple (also Caucasian) was professional, knowledgeable, and spoke/acted non-condescendingly (unlike manager). Next, while viewing an iPad, I sensed someone looking at me. I instinctively looked up and saw the manager beside another staff (Staff C) both looking directly at me. The manager was glaring and staring me down and she continued to do this until after she walked and was blocked from my view. **If the said manager were not white, that glare and staring down could be translated as aggression/ threat enough for a police complaint. I proceeded to purchase an ipad Pro. Staff A assisted at the till for device credit. I said that their manager should not have engaged in a power struggle with a customer. In response, Staff A bobbed his head mockingly. I then said, there's a way to be professional to the customer and not go against your manager. Afterwards, it was only Staff B who thanked me for my purchase. I sincerely thanked Staff B for his professionalism and kindness before leaving. *I called BB's Customer Service and (although promised) the courtesy call from the District Manager did not happen. read more

It's a very good place and it has so many tech items I hardly recommend going there you can also try playing on the gaming pcs

I haven't been in a Best Buy in forever so I wasn't sure where to look for what we came to purchase. We ended up walking around for a while before we found what we needed. You'd be hard pressed to find an associate to help you out. I found it strange that the cashier asked if I wanted my receipt emailed to me but also printed one for me. read more

Horrible manager............ I sat with the sales rep and worked out a buy on 3 major appliances. The great sales person gave me a great deal and all was great. I unfortunately decided to come back the next day and the horrible manager got involved. He refused to hold the prices his sales person gave me. I walked out over 300. Terrible company, Oakville location it takes forever to talk to someone. Today monday july 15, the store outgoing message was indicating that the store was closed for several times. Managed to get the call at 3 pm. Still on hold. They have my camera that I bought using their extended warranty for over a month and no signal of being return to me. I don't recomend this company to anyone that wants to buy a camera a have a peace of mind. Don't ever buy their Extended Warranty plan. Customer service over the phone is even worst. read more

I went in today to find a TV for my dad, instantly as i walked in a young man by the name of Eric came up and helped me, he started telling me about all these TV's and what is different about them. He was very helpful and i purchased a 60" Samsung 4K TV. Eric was very professional and assured me he doesn't make commission so he wanted to work to make me happy, not himself. I have never seen anybody so helpful at a Best Buy in my life, he was the best there is. read more

This store has unethical practices! When I bought my home entertainment system a few days ago, I asked for a DISCOUNT on INSTALLATION..On my receipt, the salesperson entered the discounts on the products I bought, NOT on the installation service. Today I asked for a 200 Dollar price match on my TV. The store manager refused to grant the price match, as my receipts shows a discount ton the TV already. The salesperson messed up my receipt! Man very upset with Best Buy, I got a notification on my I phone about a sale with $80.00 off the Ionic Fitbit Adidas Edition, so I thought because it's only 5 minutes away from my house I will go in so I can actually see it. Get in there and ask a sales associate about the Ionic Adidas Edition and without even looking in the case he tells me that they don't have any in store but I can order it on line, this is a bull crap sales technique that really sucks. I would like to have this for Christmas but now because the stupid people working at Canada Post holding the country at ransom just before Christmas if I order the watch on line they properly will not be able to deliver it on time. This is bad business for Best Buy they are showing they don't care about the customers only the sales, they should take all their business from Canada Post and even if it cost me a few dollars more send it by one of the other delivery services. I ask the sales associate but he didn't know who they used for deliveries. I will not take a chance and have my Christmas destroyed over stupid sales and greedy people if I can't have it in hand I will not buy it, the new way of shopping on line sucks when people use it as a bargaining tool. I will hold on to my money until I'm sure the product can reach my door on time, I already had problems when ordering on line and having to wait because they don't have product available. read more

Best Buy is usually my go to place when it comes to general electronics, like, TVs, laptops, or even earbuds. I always felt the gratitude of Best Buy and it's employees, as they would be knowledable, very helpful, and honest regarding their products. However, recently, while on a TV hunt, I was extremely disappointd with the service I attained. I felt that it was almost as if the employees were working based on commission. I walked into Best Buy, located at 2500 Winston Park Drive Unit A Oakville, with much hope yesterday, with my in-laws and wife, and was greeted by Rick and Tony. Mind you we had been funiture shopping all day, so we were exhausted, in hopes that we came in at 6 pm and would be out by 6:30 pm max, TV in hand. Guess what? That did not happen. We had a specific TV in mind, ranging close to $900. However, despite our needs, Tony and Rick, showcased to us several TVs, insisting that we would be given a better deal per say, on a better TV. Thinking they were the supervisors, I assumed that they were looking for the best interest of the customer. However, after 2 hours of searching, finally taking my name and address, we were told the TV and stand we chose, would cost us $1900!! Nothing close to the price that we had initially come in with. My main concern does not regard the money however, if something is worth the price, I will buy it. What shocked us more, came moments later when we asked about the original prices for the TV and TV stand. They were $1388, and $149, respectively. At first these two employees were not reciprocrating the prices, and when they did, even with taxes, the total price was coming to $1700, at its greatest. So where was the discount, these employee's spoke of earlier? After requesting for the additional charges to be cut, for things I had not even asked to purchase, we gave up and decided to walk out. Upon seeing our response, we were told that we would be given a discount for $10 off each product. Exhausted, tired, and ready to call the manager, as we felt it was absolutely riduculous, we stood our ground and walked out, extremely disapointed with the service we got. It is evident that after this mistreatment, and playing the "price is right" with these employees, I will not step foot in another Best Buy again, especially if customers are treated with disrespect and ridicule. read more
