The overall cost was actually less than we were expecting. The work was completed in May while we were out of town and they were done by the time we returned home. Everything looked amazing but there were some areas that needed to be fixed/redone. Robbie continued to assist us in answering questions on how to clean our new flooring and helped us coordinate the final corrections that needed to be done since the contractor was slow at getting back to us. They came the next morning after Robbie got involved and the fixes were finally completed more than a month later. We absolutely love our new flooring.

Before finding J&L Innovative Flooring, I had already met with four different flooring companies for in-home estimates and had a good understanding of the costs involved. I was actually planning to hire another contractor. On a Friday afternoon, I called J&L Innovative Flooring and spoke with Larissa, the owner. She was out of town until Tuesday, so I honestly told her I didn't want to waste her time since I had already received multiple estimates and was leaning toward another company. She completely understood but offered to give me a general estimate and explain her scope of work over the phone. Shortly afterward, Larissa texted me a detailed estimate and outlined the work she recommended. I then spent time reading through the company's reviews and found countless satisfied customers. That convinced me to schedule an in-home consultation, and our family is so glad we did. When Larissa came out on Tuesday, I asked countless questions about floor preparation, moisture barriers, moldings, transitions, and the installation process. She answered every question thoroughly and emphasized doing everything according to the manufacturer's installation requirements and warranty. It was immediately obvious that she has extensive knowledge and experience. Unlike many contractors--including one I had previously hired--she wasn't interested in taking shortcuts to save time or money. Just by inspecting our existing floor, she recognized that our concrete slab would require leveling. She assured me that concrete leveling (within reasonable limits) was already included in her estimates at no additional charge. That level of honesty and professionalism immediately earned my trust. Our project also had some unique requirements. We needed the installation completed in two phases because one room was being used to store appliances and furniture. I also wanted to use the same flooring system that had protected our home during the slab leak: Bostik MVP4 moisture barrier with Bostik Best adhesive. Although many installers now use newer systems,this was the system I trusted most and to me worth the increased expense. I also wanted to purchase the flooring materials myself because of an existing relationship with a flooring supplier. Larissa happily accommodated both requests. She even contacted several of her own flooring suppliers to make sure I was getting the best possible pricing. She ultimately matched the same discount (never told her the price)I I was receiving on the engineered hardwood and secured excellent pricing on the adhesive and moisture barrier. It's clear she has strong relationships throughout the industry and genuinely looks out for her customers. Her knowledge on various flooring manufacturers is truly amazing. Most flooring contractors will push u into a certain wood manufacturer that they could make the most commission on but with Larissa u can choose whatever you want and she will try to get you the best deal. For the installation, Larissa assigned Enrique, who has more than 20 years of experience. From demolition to floor preparation, installation, and baseboards, Enrique worked with incredible care and precision. He carefully protected our kitchen cabinets and preserved our bullnose stair nosings instead of taking the easy route and replacing them. Our slab required extensive leveling and sanding before installation. Enrique took his time to ensure the subfloor was perfectly prepared and thoughtfully selected the best-looking planks for the most visible areas of the house. That level of planning and attention to detail is something many installers simply don't do because it takes extra time. One thing that really stood out was that Enrique hand-wiped every single plank after installation while working on his hands and knees. That's over 1,600 square feet of flooring cleaned one plank at a time. Watching that level of dedication was truly impressive. Throughout the project, whenever an issue came up, Larissa immediately found a solution. At one point I forgot to order the T-moldings from the flooring manufacturer, and they were on backorder for two weeks. Rather than delaying the project, Larissa leveraged her network to have a custom T-molding made and professionally stained within just two days. It's rare to find a contractor who is knowledgeable, honest, responsive, and genuinely committed to doing things the right way. Larissa and her team exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Had 750 sq. ft of carpet installed in June 2013. August 2013 a flaw was pointed out by another contractor on the carpet length extending out of the carpeted rooms into the wood hallway clear past the doors. Best Carpet owner wanted $75 for repair before finally being talked down to $50. Repair should have been free. The owner said a Z bar would be installed with the tack strip to secure the carpet(correct way). The installers took 5 minutes to put down standard tack strips (wrong way) and took $50 from my wife for a crappy job done. If you are flipping a home and don't care about warranty or customer service this is the place. Once the business has your money forget about getting anything problems resolved without more cash coming out of your pocket. Bottom line: Great prices, Fast Install, UNTRUSTWORTHY. Spend a little more and go with a business that stands behind their work. read more

I've been using Mario Pulciano for over 20 years now for all my apartments in Anaheim and both my residences (Laguna and Palm Desert). I have confidently referred countless industrial/commercial clients to Mario as well, and none have ever been disappointed. You just have to pick out what he has in stock to get an unbeatable deal. He now also sells lots of laminate. Sean typically comes out to measure, and Mario works up the final price, including removal of old carpet and best padding for the job. He buys rolls of carpet and laminate in bulk and has a huge selection. He seems to always know most of the customers in the store, which tells me I'm not his only repeat customer! His installers do a great job. Always on time, leaving the job site neat and clean. I'm not surprised to see all these great reviews. Excellent price given by the Pulciano Brothers in Upland, California - deal with either brother if you can and not salesmen. Excellent installation. The Pulciano Brothers bring great salesmanship (watch out for upsales), friendliness and courtesy and combine this with great prices, great service and fast install. Most all of their carpeting is TOP LINE A+, but is remnants and left overs from the factories. So, if you like what they've got today, make a commitment because it may not be there tomorrow. I found this out the hard way. Then, I went back in a month later and they had a new, similar remnant just the right size so I lucked out. It is best to look at the carpets in other stores and get a firm idea of what the retail price is; then, go to Best Carpets and shop - you'll see what I mean. read more

DIRTY AND UNCLEAN!!! If a store is to remain open during the pandemic you would think that they were taking all the legal and necessary precautions to keep themselves and the customers safe. NOT HERE. Came in here looking for carpet with my wife and asked to use their bathroom. The owner Mario said that their bathroom is blocked off by carpet and the water was shut off at the property. Told me to walk down the street to Target to use the bathroom or I could go behind the store. Who in their right minds would offer a customer their back wall as a urinal?! Completely and utterly disgusted and outraged. Seeing as all males work there I can only assume that they all use the back wall of the building..with no way of washing their hands after!!! read more

Just wanted to say..... I LOVE MY NEW CARPET!! My sister and I were referred to Best Carpets when she was looking for carpet for her house. The price was great and the service was great. My husband was there when the guys came to install her carpet and said they did a great job. So when we decided to replace the carpet in our living room and den, we went straight to Mario and his crew. The price was great and the carpet even greater! Long overdue review. I've had work done by Best Carpet twice, once in 2012 and again last year. Mario is a sweetheart, it's very intimidating being a woman sometimes and going to places to look for handywork but this place was a gem. A foundation crack wasn't addressed before laying the carpet, and I can feel the transitions between the foam padding pieces when walking, which suggests they may not have been glued or seamed properly. But he went on PTO right after and we didn't get good customer service after that so got 5 other quotes and settled on another installer. Perry's quote was comparable to all the others. Months later when we were ready to pull the trigger on the flooring, I was still having remorse about not going through Perry's so I reached out and learned Marc was back so worked with him again and they ended up installing our flooring. We went with Eternity Sequoia Mineral Peak and couldn't be happier with the installation and final result. As part of our install they had to also level some cracks in the concrete slab foundation. The installers were super fast and efficient. We had a couple concerns after the installation - a couple of low spots where the floor was flexing - but the owner came out and inspected and assured us it was okay and wouldn't be a problem in the future. I also took advantage of Perry's financing special of 12 months same as cash. Thank you to Marc for making this happen for us!
