This is a great…read moreplace for a couple's get-a-way, family vacation, family reunion, or just a relaxing weekend. The clubhouse/cabin is approximately 30' X 54' with an open living area with wood burning fireplace and ceiling fans. It has an eating bar in the kitchen area, dining table with chairs, new Maytag black/stainless glass surface electric stove with microwave oven. There is a Maytag stainless dishwasher and new Kenmore stainless side by side refrigerator/freezer. The living room has built-in shelves that contains the Vizio LCD TV, DVD player, VCR, and DirecTV receiver. The clubhouse is complimented throughout with ceramic tile. There is a screened-in back porch with lake view. There is large deck on the lake side of the clubhouse with a picnic table, gas grill, and a wood/charcoal smoker. The wood deck path then steps down to a smaller "mid-deck" that is situated under, and shaded by, a huge majestic oak tree--a great space for soaking up the beautiful view of the lake. Keep following the wood deck farther down and it takes you to the approximately 110' lighted pier that is a great spot for kids with fishing poles. Next to the pier there is a small concrete boat ramp in case you want to bring your own boat. (No outboard motor boats allowed. Only boats with nothing larger than a trolling motor is allowed) Kayaks not provided--but are perfect for this lake. There is a large boat house that houses two Jon-boats for the use of club members. The boat house is also lighted and is a great place to fish if it rains. There is covered parking for two vehicles, and plenty of non-covered parking. Outside in the back of the clubhouse there is a swing set for the children, and there is also a fire pit should one want to build a fire and roast marshmallow and make S'mores. Also in this back area there is a RV space with electrical and water hook-up service. There are two (2) bathrooms, one with toilet, vanity and tub/shower combo, the other with a toilet, vanity, and shower only. The living room has a loveseat, recliner, and a sofa. The sofa makes out into a full size bed. There are two (2) bedrooms; one with a queen bed and night stand, the other with two (2) full beds with a night stand. Both bedrooms have closets and both bedrooms have ceiling fans. In the kitchen there is an electric coffee pot, crockpot, electric can opener, electric blenders, and various pots pans, and silverware. Coffee mugs and drinking glasses are also there in the cabinets along with plates and cereal bowls. I can vouch that even though this seems to be a remote location, I can get AT&T cellular service and Sprint cellular service while on the property. In addition to the fishing lake, the whole club property comprises of 483+/- prime hunting acres. Members may build/place hunting blinds on the property, and the blinds must be identified with the member's name on them. Pillows, bed linens, wash rags, bath towels, kitchen towels, and paper towels are NOT furnished. One brings their own. Also, one is responsible for cleaning the clubhouse before leaving. Entry and exit to the club property is controlled via combination lock code at the gate. Members that own a share (stock certificate issued to each owner) get access to all of the club amenities. If you are a fisherman, you may want to reserve during the spawning season for the excellent fishing. Or, if you are a hunter, you may want to reserve the club during deer bow or rifle season. There is a full-time caretaker on the property that handles the club upkeep and reservations. There are annual dues of $400 per year, due in January. There is no limit on the number of days a member may reserve the club, but there is a four (4) consecutive night limit on reserving the clubhouse/cabin. The club is located in Upshur County, Texas. There are sixty (60) total members/shares. The annual membership dues cover the utilities, property taxes, insurance, upkeep and maintenance.
