I've been through Nebraska City plenty of times over decades but never visited the Arbor Lodge…read moreuntil today. Was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the short drive down from Bellevue. Parking was easy to find close to the lodge. The lady who ran the ticket stand gave us a great history of the lodge and told us about several rooms we might have overlooked otherwise. The rooms all had interesting items in them, all well documented. We especially enjoyed the room with the print press equipment, the room with mannequins wearing vintage dresses (from the waistlines, the ladies wearing them had to be using industrial strength corsets), and the bowling alley in the basement. We walked over to the carriage house and stables, then took a short walk through the grounds. We're glad we took the time to visit.

The pool area is clean and well maintained, which is perfect for relaxing or spending time with the kids. Found myself in the area, and went to see a film here. We were ushered to the upstairs theatre…read morewith stair just to the left after you enter. The sound was atrocious. My friend could not understand what was being said in the soundtrack. He got up after the film started, went to find the manager, and asked them to fix the sound. They did not fix the sound. The sound was some kind variant of 6.1 surround sound. There were 6 sets of woofer, tweeter, and perhaps midrange speakers surrounding the audience. It was unlistenable. It sounded like someone who had no idea what they were doing at access to very advanced controls, including a compressor, and thought they should use all the controls. It was so curious and amazing that after the film, I offered the employees an arbitrary size "tip" just to be able to see the controls for the sound system. I promised I would keep my hands in my pockets. I wanted to confirm my theory that someone had "twisted the knobs" on the setup controls every which way but loose. A very nice young lady who said she was the manager politely explained that one of the speakers in a cluster had been burned out, and that's why the sound "sounded like you were in a cardboard box." She went on to explain that there were no setup controls -- that the only control provided was a volume control graduated from 0 to 10. I am so naive and trusting of people that I believed her, and we exited the theater without demanding our money back. After I got home, I realized that there were at least woofers and tweeters involved in the scenario she had related to us, and that implies that there were cross-overs, and that at least the cross-overs had controls which must be used in setting up the audio system. SO WE HAD BEEN LIED TO. Then I realized that there is NO 6.x surround sound tuner or amplifier -- no matter how low-end and consumer grade -- which does not provide and require that the user provide parameters for setting-up the system. Perhaps the nice manager was entirely ignorant that there was an entirely different process required to set-up the sound system, but that is no excuse. Her job was to provide a viewing of a film that we could hear and understand. In a "Last Picture Show" kind of way, I am quite sad to provide this horrendously bad review, because I do not want any more theatres to close. But how else can I communicate my anger at being abused by the Pioneer 3 Theater ??? This was a terrible experience. We paid a real price to see a film which we were not really allowed to view in a normal way. I am guessing that at some point there is a totally incompetent person who cannot hear, but who has bullied everyone in the management chain into believing that he is the greatest thing since sliced bread for audio systems. E.g., there are millions of functionally-deaf people like this pretending to do audio for bands all over the country. The owner of this theater should NOT allow this travesty to continue. I want my money back. I deserve my money back. Anyone who goes to this theater before they rectify the problems with the sound system deserves the abuse they will sustain.

My only complaint was they had a third theater on the second floor and it was not handicap accessible. There are two theaters one the main level which normally wouldn't be a problem but we were unaware they had a second floor since we had never been there before. The movie we bought tickets for, you guess it on the second floor..lol I have bad knees and my brother has cerebral palsy but does walk. We both struggle with stairs but we made it work. My suggestion is if you have issues using stairs do not buy your ticket online. They do rotate the movies so at the 7pm showing our movie was on the first floor. I'm still going to give them a 5 star rating!

I had the privilege of visiting this museum a couple days ago and was absolutely blown away. We…read morewere greeted by a docent who was a long time volunteer on the department, is currently in a bout with cancer amongst other health concerns but didn't let any of that stop him from giving an energetic and thorough history of the department. This museum was built entirely by the volunteers with no help from outside funding, as goes for the immaculately restored fire apparatus. The countless man hours and dedication they have poured into this museum is incredible and it certainly shows. I definitely recommend this to anyone passing through!

If you want to become a better rider, you need to go to Ducati Omaha and register for a session. Also race cars, drag race, and have drifter events here.
