I have had Ugly Bagels a couple of times and there was a lot to live up to. Their menu was quite standard with your classic sandwich fillings in a bagel but executed well. I do like the option to choose the type of bagel you want. I'm a sucker for salmon, so I chose the Classic bagel. It was a nice change since the salmon was cooked rather than raw. My dining partner chose the Wilbur bagel which was an unusual bagel filling with a spiced pulled pork. Again like Burger Burger, this was a very messy bagel to eat although tasty. We also had to try the Peanut butter and salted caramel smoothie. For $7 this was quite reasonable with the unique flavours and great flavour. Seating was very limited so we had to takeaway. This is where we realised some of the bagels you may need a fork and knife to eat it. Good place to try. Everything was tasty and quick, just not quite as good as Best Ugly Bagels. We got the free range eggs with gluten free toast and bacon, green omelette, cappuccino with coconut milk and gluten free brownie. The green omelette was especially unique (broccolini and pesto in an omelette, yum!) Some of the best breakfast we had in all of our 3 weeks in New Zealand! We would 100% go back to this place. The atmosphere was nice and chill too and the service was extremely friendly.
