This place has a lot of fun amenities that a Best Western doesn't usually have. I like that we can park right up by our hotel door. It's a bit outdated, but hey if it ain't broke, don't fix it. We got a pint of milk as we checked in!!! :9
As I walked in into our room, there were two leather Love seats and a small coffee table for the "mini" living room. On the coffee table, it has a leather book explaining things about the motel. (Good info book to read.) A small kitchen in the corner and a four chair dining table.
The bathroom is a decent size. The towels are hung on a towel warmer which was neat!
We got a room with two queen beds. The bedroom is a bit tight. It is also separated by a sliding door. There is a TV in the bedroom. In the closet it has two heavy blankets if needed. There is an ironing board I the closet.
Heading back outside, the motel reception office, has a park for the kids. It has an amazing tree whose width & height is gigantic!!! The play area was cute. It looked like it had a hand made see-saw, a normal play set that people could have at home and a trampoline. The trampoline sounded fun until we walked up to it and noticed the side where the kids get up into it was ducked taped with a ladder. Hopefully, it was just to hold the ladder they added to it.
On the left of the reception building, the parking lot is a bit wide, but of course we can't all leave at the same time. There is also a directional signs for other amenities in the area. The pool was small. The restaurant looked close, but a decent size to have maybe all of the motel guests fit in the dining room. Down to the left of the restaurant there is a narrow walkway towards the trout stream and the mini golf and game room. The trout stream was pretty. It was decorated nicely and the water is so clear. However, we did not see any trout or even fish in the water. The mini golf was nice (I'm assuming you can get the items needed from the reception desk). Same as the game room which only has a ping pong table.
I gave Best Western Braeside four stars because it doesn't have AC. There is a fan that we can use stashed in the closet. The room was a bit warm and humid when we walked in.
The WiFi was a bit weird. I would connect to it, but it didn't show on my phone that I was connected to it.
Other than those things, it is a pretty decent place to stay at. :) read more
