Great place!! I use trivago and got a beautiful and clean hotel room at a sub $200 price. The most comfortable stay I had on my 3500 mile road trip. I went out for an early morning run with my dog, which they hosted, and I missed the breakfast. It ends rather early and that was my only hope at a hot breakfast in two weeks. Well, it was posted, the time, so it's my fault. I look forward to going back and running just a little bit earlier. They had plenty of amenities, but I never needed them. The the midnight staff was nice but absolutely non-helpful. I think they just wanted to spend time with their boyfriend. It did not affect me as you can see cause I still have five stars. Filthy hotel and damaged rooms! The lobby and hallways smelled like mildew. They advertised clean rooms with a beautiful balcony but the rooms are NOTHING like the pictures (very likely that the pictures they use were AI embellished) and they smelled like mold. I found this hotel to be very well maintained. It's very nice and clean and the staff at the desk were very courteous, friendly and helpful. It's located very close to the freeway and there are lots of places to eat within close proximity. Breakfast is included, but to be quite honest it's nothing special. It's just the standard fare and not much to select from. Also, the seating area in the breakfast room was somewhat small. So if they get crowded, I think you might have a problem finding a table. read more

Hotel staff had put stain or varnish on bathroom cubby holes prior to our arrival. Stain ruined on of my wife's sweatshirts, t-shirts and makeup bag. Isolated problem, but when I brought it up to the front desk, they didn't seem all that disturbed over the incident. Better, less expensive hotels in the area. Good luck. My only complaint is that the pet room we stayed in with our dog definitely smelled like a pet room. Other than that, staff was amazing, the place was very clean, perfect place to stop over for the night on our road trip and they had a lawn dedicated to pets. Staycation! They were really easy to work with, and other than the fact that when you're booking with points, certain rooms/rates aren't available, it was pretty easy to book. I called and talked to them ahead of time and found out the pool was open 24 hours (save for some early morning maintenance), which is a huge deal when you're booking a winter staycation. They also have a breakfast which is bigger and more full than most. Really, the location is great. There's lots to do around here. If you're married to the idea of staying in downtown SLC, then obvs this isn't for you, as it's out in suburbia. But suburbia has its advantages, too. The aquarium, the soccer stadium, the mall (with new arcade/bowling), shopping, and other family-friendly activities. Just a bit farther you have skiing, golf, the mountains, and you're right next to I-15 so if you just need a place to crash coming through SLC, this beats having to get off downtown and fight traffic. read more

This was a very nice hotel, the rooms were clean and the king bed was perfect. We stayed 3 nights and the only complaint we had was that we couldn't get the fan to stay on. The AC worked great, but when it went off the room was so quiet you could hear everything. The continental breakfast was really nice and the lady was making homemade scrambled eggs that I appreciated. The staff was great and very helpful. We will most likely stay here for now on while visiting family. read more

Checked on Saturday 10/8/22 around 10pm because I am Best Western Rewards member, and always stay at Best Western's. I received what could best be described as an indifferent greeting. I did not receive any recognition for being a Platinum Best Western Rewards member. In addition I was told I would be charged an $50 charge for incidentals without explaining it was a Hotel policy. I have stayed at 100's of Best Western's and never had any of the hotels charge a fee like that. If read this review go to the Best Western by the airport the service is far superior. read more

I cancelled and somehow still have a reservation that is too late to cancel. Close to I-15, Accepts Dogs, Nice Rooms. This hotel has parking in the back for trailers, trucks, anything longer than average, which was extremely helpful as we were towing a trailer. The dog fee is $25. There is a grassy area in the back to walk dogs. Check in and check out were quick. The room was clean and nice. There are gas stations close to the hotel. I didn't like breakfast mainly because the eggs were over-done. But they did offer cereal, waffles, oatmeal, and donuts. read more

Stayed here recently when I visited Sandy to spend some well deserved quality time with my son. I booked this hotel on Priceline and I think it was for about $70/night. Not bad for the price, but frankly I think next time I'll suck it up and pay the extra money to stay at the Hyatt Place up the road. Free breakfast was included - although the variety and quality wasn't the greatest. Luckily, I was able to get an early check in (+1 star for service). The staff was relatively friendly, although NO WHERE NEAR the customer service that I've become accustomed to as of late ( reference my Japan hotel reviews ). Sadly, although the hotel IS non-smoking, my room still reeked of smoke. It was so bad that my 16 yr old son complained about the stench (Crazy right? Considering everything about him stinks). The beds were just ok. A little saggy. The water pressure was nonexistent. I would have been better off with a sponge bath. GREAT LOCATION. Close to South Town mall and I-15. There is an indoor pool, but the chlorine levels were off the chart. Guess I'm just used to Oahu beaches. This hotel looks great, nice big comfy bed & clean room. We had a terrible night sleep every night we were here (3) and mostly because of the air con. The first night we left it on all night, it would turn on and warm the room back up every time it dropped, and it was so noisy every time we did it. We turned the fan down to low and it didn't help. The next night we turned it off, the room stayed warm but the air was so stale it was hard to breathe. The last night was pretty much the same. Also, someone got up early to go to the toilet and I woke to the sound of pee and the system running after flushing. We're always grateful for a place that has a free breakfast. We've stayed in a lot of places that have them. This one was not that good. Everyday was scrambled eggs, a meat, potatoes & waffles in the hot section. There was also oats, cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast, bagels & pastries. Every morning the eggs were dry, the waffles were either dry or doughy, one day the potatoes were dry, the pastries were dry on the first day too but Sunday morning they were much better. The left side of the toaster was not as good as the right side at the same temperature level. Most of the tables in the dining area are shoved right under the booth seat because they are wobbly too. Shoving them up prevents the wobble but you can't sit under the table unless you move it out. There was also one day where the room was cleaned but the tea, coffee and towels not replaced. Normally I don't mind when there's a notice saying they are enviro friendly & saving the planet one towel at a time but in this case, they did it once properly & not again. Upon check-out the clerk asked "so I'll just charge your room to the credit card you gave us?" Ah NO, it was fully paid upfront on Expedia thanks! read more

Pretty good place. Comfy beds. I sleep well every night and I don't get tired of their breakfast since they serve my favorite hot foods. Eggs, bacon, sausage patties, hash browns, and diced potato. If cleaning forgets to restock something you can just go up to the front and they'll give it to you. Haven't happened to me yet. read more

This is a really nice hotel, however we got checked into a room that wasn't set up like the one we reserved (no sleeper bed) and the phone didn't work. 3 rooms later we got a very nice room, that smelled like smoke. Their breakfast is a disaster though! Imagine 100 people all fighting for the same corner in a tiny kitchen... and that's the scene from this morning. They ran out of stuff for 30+ min without restocking, so you were left with less choices. I really liked the hotel, but there was a lot of places for improvement. read more

Great customer service! Love that there is hot coffee available 24 hours. Would like it if pool/spa area had adult only designated time. Wasn't able to get in there due to large volumes of children. Room was spacious. Toilet may be a challenge for those needing to stand, the towel rack is in the way. Tub/ shower was spacious and clean and had great pressure and places for shampoo etc. Sink had soap dish which is a huge plus for me. Plenty of food and shopping nearby. read more

This is your run of the mill MOTEL - it is not a HOTEL, but a MOTEL. It was remodeled within the past 10 years. This is a 5 STAR motel if you live in a trailer. Each room has a refrigerator (but no microwave oven - go figure!). The refrigerator is noisy, as the compressor cycles on/off. I eventually turned it off so I could sleep. They offer free breakfast each day (6-10). The food is not the greatest, cereal, toast, eggs, bacon/sausage, milk, coffee, juice - enough to get going in the morning. Grab some fruit (apple, orange or banana) for your mid day snack! The rooms are okay. Every night and morning I was awaken by rude guests SLAMMING DOORS. The doors need "soft closers" on them. You can hear the neighboring toilets flush, showers running, loud TVs and squeaky beds (nightly gymnastics). The motel clients are lower white class (mostly trailer trash) and they act like they are the only ones staying in the entire building. The staff does not police the behavior of guests and allows them to run amok. Loud screaming, yelling, kids running the halls, boisterous activities in the public and breakfast areas. The parking lots can get even louder as contractors and laborers yell and parents discipline their screaming kids. Forget the college game of touch football in the back lot. Rooms in the front face a Wendy's burger joint that has a LATE night drive through. Rooms on the back face Auto Mall Parkway and the noise associated with a busy boulevard. Take your pick. Top floor is best - no one stomping on your head or making noise. My bathroom was oddly shaped. The toilet was wedged into a small alcove in the corner. There was not enough room to stand up in front of the toilet. I had to pee from the side. Forget wanting to sit & read the paper. The room was clean and it had a decent amount of lighting. Still a little dark for our tastes, but okay. Free wifi for guests and tons of TV channels on satellite. You can park outside your window (though maybe a few floors up), so you can keep an eye on your car if needed. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT - The beds do not have blankets! The bed spread is sewn onto a sheet. They expect you to use the bed spread as the blanket. It is really thick and heavy. Seriously - it is REALLY HEAVY. If I needed the extra weight & warmth, I'd pull up the bed spread over a blanket. As it was It was a cement covering or a thin sheet. We cranked up the heat and threw back the thick bed spread. Bring ear plugs - it will make for a quiet nights sleep. Bring your own blanket and pillow and you'll sleep just like at home. The indoor pool wrenched of CHLORAMINES (that chlorine smell you get in indoor pools). What that REALLY MEANS is that there is NOT ENOUGH CHLORINE in the pool. If you smell "chlorine" then the pool is not being maintained properly. Air quality and humidity in the room are terrible. I am sure that they will have mold in the walls and corrosion of the electrical wiring very soon. DO NOT ACCEPT A ROOM ABOVE THE POOL! The front desk made me sign a waiver - that I'd pay to clean the room if I smoked in the room. I told them the only way I'd smoke in the room was if I was on fire. Still, MY ROOM WREAKED of cigarette smoke. Apparently they do not enforce rules or do not clean thoroughly after smokers are caught. Just because they advertize NO SMOKING, does not mean that your room will not smell like smoke. read more

I enjoyed my stay upon check in there was a guy offering to help bring in luggage I stay in hotels all over the world and rarely get asked that so was a nice touch. 24 hour hot tub was nice so you can go later to avoid the hoards of kids Utah hotels usually have at them. I used to stay at the Best Western Airport which was conveniently located but, alas, it closed. So now when I need a home base in or closer to Salt Lake City, the CottonTree Inn Sandy is a great choice. Conveniently located near I-15, you can quickly head off to wherever you need to go in the area. This is another of the Plus level Best Western hotels. It is surprisingly nice and comfortable for the cost. The breakfast area is large an open with plenty of room to move around and get food. Most BW breakfast rooms I've seen are tight on space. During one of my visits here I needed a place to meet for an hour and the manager kindly allowed me to use one of the meeting rooms. read more

Stayed here 1 night on a ski trip recently. Overall location is great. Right off 15 fwy on exit 10600, with a mall and many restaurants nearby, and a Costco just a minute south. It's also 25-30min easy drive to Alta/Snowbird (if no snow storm) which was great. Hotel looks fairly new, but they were doing construction/remodeling of the front lobby when we were there. Check-in was simple. Room was nice. Only thing is no microwave; we really prefer microwave in the room. Indoor pool was good, my son spent some time there. Breakfast was good with eggs and bacon and waffle and other cold items. All in all, it was a good hotel for the price and I wouldn't mind staying again if I was coming here. read more

Mixed feelings. Nice place, pleasant staff, room was small but clean and comfortable. All okay except for two frowns : First, the breakfast area is tiny, more than 4 people by the hot plates and it's a scrum, and with the table space narrow and facing each other, it's kinda like sitting in a corridor. Food itself was hot, but items weren't always available. Nothing to say 'wow'. Second, when booking online the "with balcony" add-on is deceptive. Unless you're on the east side facing the mountains, the "balcony" is just an opening glass door, with a railing in front - there's nothing to step out on to. Bit of a scam, to be honest... All in all, the 'feel' is a more hotel than motel, freeway access is easy, and there's ample parking. Although very busy, the room was clean and restful, and the night was relatively quiet. In terms of the ski package and with SLC being expensive, especially during season, the value is good+. Out of season, or if just passing through, $100+ plus per night seems maybe $20 too high. If brand is important, you'll be okay, but if cost is important, you'll find better value elsewhere. 4 stars for the room, 3 for the frowns = 3.5 overall read more

4 stars for the great value. We stayed here by chance only because we spent too much of our time wondering around Salt Lake City it became too late to drive to Vegas. I liked this one a lot, it has a charming feel to it. It also has an indoor pool which was perfect for the cold weather. The people at the front desk were friendly (gave us some discount!) except for the lady manager in the morning who was trying to take back the discount...grrr! It had a laundry facility which was so useful for us that time. I thought the over all feel of the place was clean and relaxing. There were enough parking as well and with free continental breakfast the next day, how could I complain? This is the reason why whenever we go out of town and we needed to stay over for the night, we've always looked for best western first (with free breakfast, ofcourse, hehehe) :)--- very clean facilities, indoor pool, friendly staff, free breakfast! bang for your buck! :(--- too far to go back. read more

The facility is very clean, the amenities are all there - especially a nice little breakfast area, and parking/access is super easy! Great location. This is definitely a 2 star hotel, not a 3 star. Pluses - friendly front desk clerk, inexpensive rate and room was relatively clean. Negatives - Beds are waayyy too soft, lobby smells like chlorine from the pool (if a pool needs that much chlorine to be clean,then I don't want to swim in it) mediocre free breakfast and very loud family reunions near the lobby and in the meeting rooms. It's nice the hotel let's people party the night away in their breakfast room, lobby and other rooms - but they should not book anyone not involved in the action on the first floor. Kids roaming the halls, parents taking kids to the pool and jacuzzi at 10 pm. No wonder these pools need so much chlorine. This place seemed understaffed and disorderly. It was as if the family reunions had taken over the place with kids everywhere (and food messes everywhere - fortunately it was cleaned up by morning.) Kids roaming the halls without parental supervision seems to be standard at some of the hotels in Utah. Don't people in Utah worry about their kids getting into trouble? it's not all Mormons staying at the hotels people! There are better places to stay in Sandy than at this Best Western. If you do stay here, get a room higher than the 1st floor. read more

This place is great. The rooms are clean the beds are comfortable. The staff is so friendly and always want to help you. The building is constantly being worked on. They keep it looking nice not waiting for it to look bad. My Wife is here for a medical procedure and they gave me a great rate. They asked how she was doing every day. The breakfast is hot and tasty. There are many restaurants within walking distance. A great mall is across the street. They have a refrigerator in the room. If they had a microwave I would of given them five stars. They do have a microwave in the lobby. Pet friendly. read more

We thought the location of this Best Western was odd; finding the driving around Salt Lake City crazy, we missed the street we needed and had to find the hotel by driving through a car dealership (note the hotel address of Auto Mall Drive) and driving a sort of back road behind other car dealers. However, this was a very big and quite comfortable hotel, obviously a place that does a lot of business. We had no problems with the room or the cleanliness of the hotel. One of our problems was not knowing the area and trying to get some food delivered. My husband went down to ask at the front desk and didn't find them too helpful when it came to getting food. They gave him a list of places that deliver but the list didn't even say what kind of food the places offered. We ordered from an obvious place, a pizza place, but it took a full hour for delivery. We almost wished we were back in one of the quiet places we'd stayed on our road trip, like an Iowa town. The people we encountered here working the front desk were in their twenties and didn't seem as keen on customer service as in some places we'd stayed. We also thought the layout of the breakfast area was odd, with coffee in one place and the rest of the food around two corners. The hot offerings for breakfast seemed good when looked at but were pretty darn tasteless. However, everyone could find something to eat. By the way this hotel charged us although we had prepaid through a travel web site. If I hadn't studied our bank statement and caught this, we would've paid twice for this stay. Locked out of my room 2nd day so had to get my room keys re-done. Then when I entered, phone didn't work so had to go back downstairs to front desk again to request staff come to my room and fix or replace. Phone had been disconnected ...by maid in pulling out night table? Tried to take a shower but noticed there was NO shower curtain , just a blank curved rod at top of shower. Showered anyway which flooded the bathroom floor. Oatmeal at breakfast, my favorite breakfast meal, was like loose soup- clearly not made properly. Couldn't finish my half bowl. Eggs were small thin pre-packaged warmed over frozen patties rather than real scrambled eggs...unlike Hampton Inn's eggs where I stayed 2 wks ago One single positive was nightly baked cookies which were good. read more

I came here to stay with my family for a wedding this weekend. We have come from the boring land of Elko, Nevada. So coming to Utah is always a great treat since there is nothing to do where we live. Unfortunately I woke up this morning after sleeping in the bed here with what I thought was a zit on my back. I went to breakfast and came back to my room. When I had returned to my room I went to pop what I thought was a zit and it happened to be a disgusting dog tick. Very disappointed. Manager hasn't even come to talk to us. read more

This place was enjoyable. We got talked into upgrading to a king suite and with a little bit of negotiating the price only went up a little bit. The jacuzzi tub was nice and had just enough room for two people to sit and soak their bottom halves while enjoying a bubble bath. Included breakfast and internet and the place was super clean, very nice & convenient to a lot of restaurants, a mall, and the bus line to the ski mountains. The hotel would take you anywhere you wanted at any time with their shuttle which was awesome. It only took about 30 mins to get up to Snowbird which was really convenient. read more
