Welcomed in very nicely and quick check in. Nicely decorated with Mardi Gras decor. Our room was clean and smelled well. One light in bathroom was off but not a problem, the other light and light on the mirror worked well to see clearly. Lady bug on the ceiling. We got it off. You know lady bugs is good luck, so not a problem. We got a nice discount. The only problem is the waffles don't cook well. I heard a few guest saying that and through them away. The server checked us out nicely and quick. They all spoke professionally. read more

The last thing I expected to hear was the previous person's 6am alarm going off. After a 10-hour drive the day before, late check-in, and not falling to sleep until midnight, I was really hoping to get some more sleep. Unfortunately, I had to turn on the lights to figure out how to turn the device off. Sure, the snooze button was easy to find, but I didn't want it going off again. Sadly the print was so small, I not only had to put on glasses, but I also had to take a picture of the print to figure out how to turn the device off. It appears to have a heavy duty, braided cable that can't be pulled from the wall. If I had my choice, I would take a room without any electronics. After all, I can do everything I need from my cell phone. Ugh! My stay here was short. The room was on par with the average Best Western offering the basic amenities of a private bathroom, bed, desk and chair. Breakfast was available in the morning. It's bot a swank experience that you will remember, but decent enough that you are likely to return for an overnight when traveling across the country in need of a place. read more

I wanted to stay here for 2 or 3 nights, but canceled at the front desk. The front desk person (middle-aged, fat, black man, with a bump on his head), doesn't know how to talk to guests. I told him that I travel with 3 dogs, but they stay in my truck at night. He decided to make a big deal about it. Threatened that the police might arrest me if they see the dogs in the truck. Then warned me more than once, that he was going to be watching me and I had better not try to sneak them in. That's when I canceled. I've traveled through 40+ states with this arrangement and this is the first time a front desk person has harassed me about it. La Quinta (across the street) had no issue with it. read more

Let's get the positives out of the way. The locations was good and seemed to be clean (except for housekeeping). The breakfast was good and changed daily, which provided a variety of options. Pool was good and fitness room was great. For the most part, the staff was friendly. The problem that we had was the housekeeping or, should I say, lack of. We stayed 3 days and 4 nights and housekeeping NEVER touched our room. We had to take out our own trash and had to go down to the front desk to replenish the bathroom towels and wash cloths. They even asked us to put the dirty ones in a trash bag and bring them down to the front desk. On our last morning, they were out of clean towels due to housekeeping not being at work yet. All this was blamed on Covid restrictions. I'm sorry, but it's July 2023 and there should be ZERO restrictions as the CDC has ended the pandemic and any restrictions. All this is, is an owner who has gotten used to running a facility on a skeleton crew instead of making the guest number one. I paid almost $600 for my family and I to stay here and if I had known that about this housekeeping situation, I would have booked elsewhere. We will never stay here again!!! read more

This Best Western location has been our go-to stopping point when traveling between Texas and South Carolina. What makes it outstanding besides the location, is the clerk, Willie. He knows us not only name, but our vehicle. He's always positive and outgoing. He solves issues quickly and professionally. I had a very poor experience at this hotel, I'd never stayed at a best western and now this one visit has tarnished the brand and it's reputation with me and I will avoid staying there or at any other BW at all costs. After a long road trip, one looks forward to a comfy bed and room, if that's what you're looking for then don't stop here. This places stank hits you as soon as you walk in, unfortunately you are greeted by this smell again in the rooms, it's hard to describe but it's like a retirement home smell, the smell of being forgotten and slowly losing reality, the soft pastel yellow walls do not help either. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because one day they offered jimmy deans breakfast sandwiches. The rest of the breakfasts were okay for free I guess. There is a McDonald's right outside and it's hard to top a McMuffin, so pick your poison. I wish better training and supervision from the brand were a thing at this hotel, it's these small unprofessional and ill trained independently operated hotels that bring down morale within a company once everybody realizes they are working for a dump. The front desk staff were very nice except for the GM and the owner lady? Horrible attitude and at their job. PERIOD. All in all, this place smells like old people, free breakfast sucks compared to other places and that awful smell makes me think of this companies value and stock plummeting. Also, the elevator was horrible and I felt like I was going to get stuck in it, which does remind me that I should follow up on the complaint I made to the Alabama department of labor who apparently is the one in charge of inspecting elevators. My husband and I recently stayed at this location. The room was a king suite. Very comfortable and roomy. Hotel was quite, although almost full to capacity. They have a nice pool, although I didn't have time to swim. We stayed three nights and enjoyed coming back each day to a clean room with fresh towels and a nicely made bed. The clerk who checked us in was very helpful and Chris Lewis was one of those who ensured our needs were met. The lobby area feels like a nice big living room, with a couple of computers for your use. The hot breakfast dining area was clean, and the food offered was very good. The only thing we were perplexed with was the size of the bed pillows. They were smaller than normal standard pillows but we did have 4 of them on our bed. They were however very comfortable. read more

Cleanliness: average. Breakfast buffet was fine. Typical waffle maker, etc. Bring your own shampoo- theirs is not great especially for long hair. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We did have trouble booking the room. We booked online and then arrived at the hotel to be told they did not have our reservation and we'd have to book one there at the desk. This would however result in a double charge unless I called the online reservation number and cancel the original. This phone call was not easy, took 10 min and the person on the phone had no idea what was going on, although the front desk said this happens often. So if you want to book a room, call the hotel directly. Do not book online. Also I was charged twice but the lady at the front desk this morning said she took care of the additional charge. I try to stay positive about everything, but we won't stay here again. It was not worth it for the price I paid for the room. I had stayed at a Best Western in Birmingham and was impressed. This one is Daphne was a completely different experience. We stayed on the second floor. When we got off the elevator, it looked like an ugly apartment with small doors. They are doing renovations, but it had a creepy feel to it. Cardboard and tape all over the floors, almost felt like a crime scene! Even my daughter said I don't know if I'm comfortable staying here. I told my kids, well let's be positive, maybe the room is better than what it looks like In the hall. The room was smaller than I expected, bed was okay though the pillows were kind of small. I did like that you could pull the shade down and have it completely dark in the room. Also a positive was how friendly the front desk staff was, both at night and in the morning. Positives stop there though unfortunately. The WiFi was not very good, which is a must for us when we stay at a hotel. There was no hot continental breakfast, which I somewhat understand with the COVID crisis, but their grab and go bags they only put out from 6-8 in the morning! Most places will have it till 9 or 10. Check out time is at 11, but we woke to very loud banging next door with someone yelling cleaning at 9:20, woke me from a sound sleep. We had did not have a do not disturb sign on the back of the door. I called the front desk and had to go downstairs and get one! Needless to say, we will not be coming back to this Best Western location. read more

We spoke to over 12 hotels trying to find a room and he was the only person who I could tell truly had compassion for us through the phone. His genuine kindness made an awful day so much better. The "GM" Mitesh (sp?) and the "owner's wife" (her claim) are pretty incredible. Alice G.'s review saying that the GM was "RUDE and NASTY!!" might be an understatement. I booked a group stay for over a week. Keep in mind this nearly $11,000 of business for this hotel from my crew. I sent in the group contract which clearly states the cancellation/modification terms in red and in BOLD. I sent in a tax exempt certificate for our organization and days before we checked in, I sent in modifications for a couple of the room stays. We had 2 rooms that should have been booked for 2 nights a piece. 1 of them ended up checking out a day early. We were charged for 3 nights on one and 5 nights for the other. Additionally there was a phantom room that no one ever reserved or stayed in that was charged for 8 nights. There were several other problems with bills and getting folios and receipts that took weeks to sort out but finally after 5 weeks the last thing was getting one of the rooms that was charged for 5 nights down to what it should have been, 2 nights. Remember, I have been dealing with correcting these errors, including getting charged state taxes when we should not have (which I was told could not be corrected on their end and we gave up on), for a very long time and all that was left was being charged 3 extra nights erroneously on a $10,500+ bill. The group sales manager, a very friendly and kind person, told me that the GM was denying that they had to correct their error. I spoke with him and almost immediately he was raising his voice at me. He demanded to know how I could be so ridiculous as to wait 5 weeks before asking to speak with him, the GM, if this was an issue. I told him that I had been working with the group sales manager this whole time. He said that we had a signed agreement and that I didn't submit the tax exempt certificate until after we checked out which is why he denied it. I offered to send him the emails and proof that both assertions were wrong. That the room grid did not reflect the extra nights and that I sent the certificate nearly 2 weeks before we checked out. He was not interested in anything except yelling at me and saying it was my fault for waiting this long to talk to him about it. He said this was the first he had ever heard about this despite, it turns out, my having emailed him several times. He didn't care that I had documentation of everything I was saying. He yelled some more and said he would look into it and get back to me in several days. I told him I had been dealing with this issue since the end of April and would appreciate a deadline on getting back to me and he said "End of next week" (7 days). I called Best Western's corporate office to inform them that the GM was yelling at customers and blaming them for mistakes they had made. I was given a claim number. They called me back in about 30 minutes and said they had spoken with the GM and that he had said that he had reviewed everything and would not return our money because we had a signed group contract with no provisions for cancellations and the customer service rep told me they would be closing the claim. I told them that this was completely false and to keep the claim open. I would send documentation showing what he was saying was wrong. I then called the hotel and was told that prior to the GM making these claims, he was handed the group contract and the modified room grid clearly showing the changes in the room. (point in fact, at NO POINT were those two guests ever arranged for 3 and 5 nights, so regardless of anything else that was done wrong). This tells me that his statements to Best Western corporate were not just false, but they appear to be intentional lies. I forwarded a copy of the contract witch has the cancellation/modification terms in BOLD RED TYPE, as well as the email showing the modifications made to the reservation timestamped days before the deadline. I even included the original group sales contract they sent which by default has a cancellation term of a day before the actual check in. So even if he wants to claim that he never saw OUR contract (which he claimed to have reviewed) his statements are still an outright lie since his own standard agreement has cancellation terms. I sent over all the documentation to the Best Western customer relations email and am waiting to hear back as to the resolution. It's incredible to be talked over and yelled at by a hotel manager period. But even more incredible given that I was booking up to 17 rooms, for over a week, we've returned to that area twice since April, and several times a year before that. Pretty dumb... read more

Then I went to make the pull out bed for my nephew and there were no blankets or sheets on it??!!? That's weird and not even an extra set in the room! No big deal we always bring in a couple extra because you never know.After tucking them in I pulled the covers back on my bed only to see a nasty stain on my sheet GROSS!!! I called to tell the front desk and ask for a different one but she said I'm not sure where I could find you an extra one give me 45 min ! ...., uummm No it's now 10 something I'm not waiting till 11 for a new sheet I td her I wod just remove it but that someone needed to be spoken with about the cleanly ness of the rooms because that's inexcusable,Hug up the phone and as I continued to strip the bed I came upon a Large spot on the sheet that was matted together with some "organic matter" so bad that when I took it down to the front desk clerk she cringed and wouldn't even touch the sheet went and grabbed a garbage bag and had me put it in there ! Really then I told her how grossed our I was she offered to move me however moving 3 now sleeping children and all of our belongings to another floor is out of the question! Then I told her I expected a discount on my room and she said I'm just a desk clerk ! Really I believe you are a night manager otherwise you wouldn't be here! We've stayed here a couple of times. It's nice, clean, well kept up and the breakfast is generous.

First of all Staff was really nice!! Let me list the bad so you can choose if you want to stay. We stayed on the first floor. -bathroom was semi-gross, left over pink soap(maybe) on toilet seat, wood rot on door frame, 3 or 4 squares of tp left (though there was an extra roll. But when I pulled out the dispenser the whole thing came out of the wall. -first floor means you hear ALL the shower water running down the drain from upstairs -room: carpet had some stains, heavy dust layer by fridge, window wouldn't close so wind draft was loud, also some stains on bed spread -phone handset did not work, only speaker phone -TV: OMG THIS ALONE IS A REASON NOT TO STAY...the remote do not have any select buttons, no TV guide channel, buttons don't work well, you actually have to type a "dash" button for all channels, no movie rentals -breakfast was ok, coffee not really too hot though...also the eggs looked pretty bad, they should chop them up a bit before presentation -couch sunken, springs are tore up But it was cheap and I've been in worse. Also like I said the staff was really nice, they just need a better product to sell for the most part. read more

This hotel is no reflection on the wonderful town of Daphne, AL. The hotel was okay but I've stayed in better. I stayed here,2 weeks ago, because we were going to Orange Beach and Pensacola on vacation and this hotel was about 25 mins from both, even Mobile, AL. The area was nice and the rooms were decent but kind of small to call it a suite and the cleaning could have been way better. The staff made me feel like I was back in Memphis and that is not a compliment. They were not detailed in their cleaning and they were very lackadaisical. The professionalism was no where to be found. They didn't look professional either. No matter what job you're assigned to, you should always do your best. We were down stairs for breakfast and the breakfast was mediocre. I understand that it ends at a certain time but if people are still sitting down eating, I would think you would make an announcement like "last call" or "Did anyone need to get anything else before we start putting things away?" ... But that didn't happen. I look up and food/drinks are gone and they are just cleaning up around us. Just little things like that would have helped this rating. I would say the only bright spot as far as staff was concerned was the evening desk clerk, Chris. He was very friendly, cool and down to earth. The rest of the staff needs to be whipped into shape if they want people to have better things to say about this hotel. read more

Driving back from Florida last night with the family we ran into a horrible storm which stretched out from Alabama Louisiana Texas border so we decided to get a hotel room. Because I've stayed at a Best Western many years ago in the Grand Canyon and experienced a very hospitable staff i talked my wife into giving it a shot at this one.....big mistake! As my wife stayed in the car looking at rates, I walked in and up to the front counter, asked a woman behind the counter for a room and first question from her was where are you from?.... (ok?) so I said Texas and was quoted much higher than what my wife found on their website. I informed her that and why is she charging more than the website charges and she immediately said "now why did I say that, I messed up".....ummmm ok. Soon after we finally got everything in the room. We all showered and found mold in the shower, exhaust vent did not work allowing a huge amount of steam to fill the bathroom. Ok, no big deal I thought cause we're leaving in the morning. After everyone was done showering I went to start the AC unit in the room and immediately I noticed a mildew smell which eventually dissipated but kept coming back. My wife asked for me to find water bottles and would you believe every machine I visited was completely out of water bottles.....ok. I went down stairs and asked where I could find water bottles for my children because all the machines are empty. The woman told me that she had none and so I looked at her with a disgusted look and said I'll pay you for a couple bottles....she said with an attitude "I'll just go ahead and give you one. It it's normally for our VIP's...seriously!!! It's Walmart water! Morning came around and the whole staff was grumpy and extremely unfriendly. I passed an employee spray a lot of air freshener up and down the hallways and and said good morning on the way to get coffee and got dirty looks from the what appeared to be maintenance workers. Got downstairs and found everything locked up a few minutes after 9am.....what hotel locks up their breakfast at 9am especially after so many people came into the hotel to get out of the horrible rain storm? My wife reached to get a yoghurt only to have a hotel employee lock the little fridge door as she was reaching for it. We witnessed another customer and his wife walk away empty handed cause they were treated the same way.... Trash trash trash! Stay away from this Best Western, horrible, horrible service and complete disrespect for customers. We had a suite and the couch smelled funny as well as dipped in the middle as you can see in the picture....nasty! And as we checked out the guy behind the counter was non stop joking with one of the employees literally ignoring me as I was waiting to let him know I was leaving and eventually without eye contact said "bye" Do yourself and your family a favor, stay away from this place! We would've left but it was horrible outside. read more

I stayed in this hotel with my family for a a couple of nights. I really, really, really enjoyed Daphne as a city. The hotel however can really be a top notch hotel if they got their cleaning crew in line. They are very unprofessional, on their cell phone when taking towels out of the room; which was all the cleaning I got that day. When I checked in, the front desk guy just let me stand there while he was on the phone and when he got off, he waited another minute and then acknowledged my presence. The room was not ready because the cleaning crew had not cleaned it and it was well after check-out time. But judging, I shant do because maybe they were short handed. The breakfast was pretty good. They had eggs,omelets, sausage patties, sausage links, cereal, pastries, waffles, pancakes, juice, boiled eggs, yogurt; ample supply. You'd better get there in plenty of time because if you linger past their shut down time, they are locking everything up and cleaning up around you. One of the best things about this hotel was Christopher, the young gentleman at the front desk. He was the nicest, sweetest, funniest, caring young man at the hotel. He spoke every time I passed by the desk and had a smile and a laugh for me. I hate he wasn't there on my last night. Overall, the hotel is nice, except for the cleaning crew, and I did enjoy my stay in Daphne. read more

Called ahead and booked this room first floor. When we arrived we were told that they only had room on second. The bathroom toilet handle was falling off and the toilet not secure to the floor. The halls were very musty and had no circulation of air it appeared. Outdated and worn room . We unfortunately will not stay here again. read more

During our stay my coworker and I got bit by bed bugs. I had over 150 bites and my coworker had at least 80. The hotel wouldn't recognize it or refund us for our losses. i.e. clothing, luggage, loss of wages due to not being able to go to work. We contacted the health department right away and they went out and confirmed that surrounding rooms were also infected with bed bugs and that a exterminator was there. That the surrounding rooms and the room we stayed in were sealed off and would be out of use for at least two weeks. We have been in a lengthy lawsuit with Best Western. I'm surprised they wouldn't want to just settle it with us than have to get sued. Not happy with them at all! read more

OK - I hate hotels that allow smoking and/or pets. This is an extremely clean hotel, convenient to get to, on a quiet street at a reasonable price. They have it all. The room was great with a sofa and coffee table, a desk with chair, small fridge, free wifi, free breakfast, etc. Basically as far as I am concerned this was the best value for the amenities and state of the hotel for any hotel I have stayed at for quite some time. I will make sure I stay here on my way through from now on. I really applaud the management for the NO PET policy and NO SMOKING policy. read more
