Rooms and grounds are VERY well kept! The room was very clean and had all the amenities you would want - microwave, large mini fridge, blow dryer, iron and a coffee maker. This was a pleasant surprise as it seems more and more hotels are getting rid of these in rooms. There was also a HUGE TV and comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. Also, the shower gets very hot and the water pressure is pretty good. The front desk area is also very nice, including a large fireplace and lounge (didn't see the hours but it looked like it had a variety of bottles). The lobby also smelled amazing! Breakfast is from 06:30-09:30 and had the usual scrambled eggs, sausage patties, Belgian waffles, coffee, juice, instant oatmeal with toppings. Everything was clean but the breakfast area is a little tight to move around. Great find in the area...food options in this town are limited though so plan accordingly. read more

The staff here (Ricky@ front desk) was extremely rude to me. He spoke to me on the most patronizing tone that I have ever experienced in my adult life. Ricky is obviously not trained in customer service. Ricky said very rude things to me and I requested a refund and went elsewhere. I will not return. Ricky should not work in a customer facing job. This was a decent hotel and we enjoyed our experience even more when we were able to have some drinks at their lounge! I did review everything about this hotel prior to booking here and it looked like it fit our standards. The lounge was listed as closing at midnight, which was around the time we were going to arrive. As I walked in a little after midnight, I noticed customers still drinking in the lounge so I was excited! I went to check in first and I was greeted by the woman with a smile. She was faIrly new but had excellent customer service skills and was very personable. After checking in, I met hubs back outside and we drove to the area where our room was. It was kind of chilly out and our room was too warm so I turned the air conditioning as low as it would get. We set up the dog and went to kick back some drinks at the lounge. We went back to the room a couple hours later and the room was not much cooler unfortunately. It was okay but still felt stuffy. We settled and went to bed anyway. We slept most of the night but I was not comfortable with the temperature. I woke up at 9am to get to breakfast by 9:30am when it was over. I arrived at 9:25 and the doors were already locked. Great. Since the room was still stuffy, I left the front door to the room open while we packed and prepared to get back on the road. Overall, besides the temperature and short/inaccurate breakfast hours, I would definitely stay here again. It was probably the most silent place I have stayed at too. read more

The bed was held up with angle iron in two places that stuck out but were hidden by the bed skirt. When walking by the bed my husband struck one with his ankle and ended up with a cut that he had to go to the front desk and get bandages for. read more

We used to LOVE this place. We come every time we go to Virginia from Florida. We've always had a pleasant experience. This time sucked and I'm pretty annoyed about it. We came here, because we always do, but also so we can eat breakfast for free. It comes with the room. So we wake up early to go eat at 630, when breakfast starts, so we can leave at 7 to head to VA. No breakfast crew was there. We waited for ten minutes and nothing. No coffee, no waffle batter, no eggs and meat (like promised on the sign out front)...don't worry though, they had cereal! But the milk hadn't been put out yet. My girls and I are hungry and all they had to offer was toast. I'm so irritated. Now I have to walk to Waffle House to feed my family, I have to spend MORE money. So inconvenient. Not happy with this stay today. read more

Kevin and Jessica were friendly, helpful, polite and good sports putting up with two crazy women and two teenagers. Room was clean. Actually spotless. Shower bright and clean. Bedding comfortable and clean. Quiet. Bed nice for sleeping. We had everything we needed. Pool looked nice but we didn't swim. Nor did we make the early breakfast times. Room 108, the room had a odor smelled like cleaning products you noticed as you walked through the door. The a.c. unit is quiet. Sink and bathroom is clean. We found Best Western Point South to be a wonderful overnight for our dogs and us. At registration, the pooches received a gift bag with treats and potty bags. Once we got settled in, the desk called to make sure our room was satisfactory. There is plenty of green space to walk the dogs with containers with bags and trash cans for same. The room, while small, was clean and seemed well maintained. The restaurant was temporarily closed but there were major fast food places across the street and a gas station next door. We will definitely put this on the list of places to stop for the night. read more

Great place for dogs. Not as wonderful for people. A limited number of pet friendly rooms and they all require a significant walk from parking. There are no carts provided to help with this. AC and fan worked great. Lots of room for the dogs to walk at this pet friendly hotel. I have a major problem with the fact that the smoke detector was covered with a bag rendering it unable to alert us in the event of a fire. Obviously a major safety issue. me and my family entered the main lobby. we looked at each other with disgusted faces because the front lobby smelled like piss. it was nasty and i personally felt like throwing up. the guy at the front was really nice. we got our room for one night. from the outside it looked ok but when we entered we disliked everything about it. our room smelt worse then the lobby. we had to cover our nose. there was dust everywhere like it hadn't been properly cleaned. we also found dead ants on the wall. the toilet paper wasn't restocked and it was half used already. our bathroom area is the nastiest part about this. never will me and my family be coming here. anyone who is looking to stay here, don't do it. you will get grossed out by the strong piss smell and the cleanliness of this place needs improvement. the only good thing about this place is the big tv. read more

Stay away from this hotel! I booked with Priceline and paid in full to them. When I arrived the front desk stated I needed a credit card on file for incidentals, which is normal practice so I agreed. But he handed me the paper to sign and I noticed he had actually charged me for the hotel. I challenged this and he said he had fixed it. Well, when I checked my credit card bill, I was charged $84.51. I paid Priceline $92.99. I called them twice to get this fixed and both times they said they would refund the amount. I also called Priceline and they talked to them the first time and they promised the same thing to Priceline's CSR. Today I called Priceline again and finally they came back with a promise to refund the amount minus $20 due to the mistake. In other words, I was to pay $20 for their mistake! Seriously! And now the Priceline CSR is claiming that the fee is due to me having a pet! Say what! We flew from Colorado to the East Coast, we had no pets! read more

This place is a hidden gem. When I booked, I didn't realize it was a motel. I was super disappointed when I first drove up...until I walked to the back and saw the fantastic grassy courtyard, amazing indoor pool, great view from my room... I was there on a Saturday night, and there was a family reunion taking place. It was awesome to watch the kids play football in the huge courtyard, watch doggies frolic in the grass, smell families cook bbq on the tree shaded grills, and swim with kiddos in the HUGE indoor pool. I'm not usually much of a people person, but there was SO MUCH room outside and in, that even with COVID, we were all comfortably distanced. This place also had a fantastic breakfast, everything one could want. I will absolutely stay here again. read more

We have stopped here several times on our trips between Fla and Pa and have always found the staff to be helpful and friendly. This is an older property but rooms are clean and the beds have new mattresses and very comfy. They are pet friendly and have a nice big covered pool in the courtyard. The bar has a great barmaid and they will soon be reopening the restaurant according to the management. This is not the Ritz but a safe and clean place to stop on I95 in SC. read more

Rude! Not because of COVID-19. Unorganized, short staffed. Counter guy snapped at every one in the lobby. Like snapped his fingers! And snapped at another employee (with his crappy, rude mouth). Website twice flipped the dates on us and instead of trying to figure out what the problem was and offer any assistance or recommendations at all we were simply dismissed with another snap of the finger and he moved on to the next poor soul in line. If you look up the reviews for the Denny's that was before this restaurant it also had the worst reviews. I am wondering if the restaurant just lost its franchise license and then opened up under a private name. The food is mediocre at best and the service and the management is the worst I've ever seen. There must be new management since all of the old bad reviews. Stopped in when we couldn't take the 95 traffic anymore. Was welcomed with a smile and expedient, friendly service. The place was busy because apparently everyone else on the highway was tired of the traffic too. Even with the rush, the service was relatively quick. The attached Denny's was slammed but still managed to get us seated and fed within 40 minutes. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Definitely on the list for future trips. The bartender was really personable and kept everyone engaged. We watched the football game and crashed for the night. Definitely worth the $$ we paid. read more

My husband and I are Hilton honor members and had stopped while on the road to stay at Hampton Inn. Unfortunately they were completely booked up and it was 12:30 am. We headed across the road to the Best Western. We were sixth in line and when we finally made it to the counter the guy behind the counter was very friendly on the phone and in person and made checking in easy. He also gave us the option for express check out so leaving in the morning was a breeze we just left our key in the room grabbed our bags and left. We chose this hotel because it has charging stations for electric cars. Two Tesla Level 2 chargers and one Clipper Creek Level 2. The Clipper Creek unit was not working. Luckily we had a Tesla adapter and were able to charge overnight. The hotel is clean, the staff was very helpful and they have breakfast included. Our room was also clean and comfortable. Restaurant food was good and large amounts but we did have to wait a bit but the staff was friendly and accommodating. It is a new restaurant and needs a little work but food was good just bring your patience and know that you are supporting a small business. Great stay at the best western and yes we would return !! Nice place I was tired and it was a dark and stormy night. I wandered in through the front door and pronounced myself and my belongings. Peter is here and I am in need of a room. They graciously gave me a room but alas I had to carry my own bags. What am I some kind of peasant?? I even had to pay for the room. Aaaaahhhhhhh but the bed was ever so soft and I had extra pillows. Pleasantly surprised to find this hotel! While driving back to VA from FL I needed to stop about halfway. I was frightened I'd be stuck in a disgusting run-down old hotel BUT I ended up in a King bedroom at this Best Western. The staff was welcoming & friendly. The hotel is VERY CLEAN! Has a heated indoor pool AND a Denny's is connected. The hotel provides a voucher for a complimentary breakfast at Denny's! Def. Enjoyed my one night stay! read more

I'm a hotel snob. If I walk around and my feet are black I'm complaining and leaving. Ive done it before. Youd think a best western in the middle of SC off 95 would be pretty rough, far from actually. We got our room for $89/ night and it was well worth it. They're connected to a Dennys and offer a free breakfast in the morning 2 eggs, 2 bacon, hash browns, and toast. It was awesome. Also they have a nice little lounge bar connected to the lobby. They have happy hour from 9pm-11pm. The place is legit. Its right in the middle of Tampa and Norfolk, VA. area. We'll totally be stopping back. If you consider a family of 4 pay $89/ night and gets an easy $20+ hot breakfast in the morning I'll say its worth it. read more

Much better than expected for a road side hotel. Rooms are clean and well appointed (coffee maker, microwave and fridge). Mattress was relatively new and comfortable. Staff was super friendly. Restaurant and bar attached have a good menu and the food was excellent - they even offered a discount for hotel guests. Would definitely stay again!
